Jhonny Nunez is expected to arrive in the United States on Friday.

Nunez was delayed from reporting to Mariners' camp this week due to visa problems in his native Dominican Republic. The 27-year-old right-hander had a 6.57 ERA and 29/26 K/BB ratio over 37 innings last season with the Triple-A affiliate for the White Sox and will likely serve as a bullpen depth in the minors in 2013.

The 27-year-old right-hander posted a horrifying 6.57 ERA and 1.92 WHIP over 37 innings for the White Sox Triple-A affiliate in 2012. He'll serve as nothing more than bullpen depth at the minor league level.

Rays signed RHP Jhonny Nunez to a minor league contract.

Nunez, 26, registered a 4.75 ERA and 50/18 K/BB ratio in 47 1/3 innings this year at the Triple-A level. He'll function as organizational relief depth for Tampa Bay.

He was bumped off the 40-man roster to make room for the acquisitions in the Ozzie Guillen deal. Nunez, 25, posted a 4.75 ERA and 50/18 K/BB ratio over 47 1/3 innings at the Triple-A level this season.

RHP Jhonny Nunez was traded from the Yankees to the White Sox in a five-player deal.

Nunez was just picked up from the Nationals at the trade deadline for Alberto Gonzalez. The 22-year-old had a 1.86 ERA in 19 1/3 innings after joining Double-A Trenton, though his ERA before the deal was 4.85. He has a chance at a career as a setup man, but he's unlikely to be of immediate help.

Yankees acquired RHP Johnny Nunez from the Nationals for shortstop Alberto Gonzalez.

The Yankees deprive themselves of their one legitimate backup shortstop here. From a value standpoint, it's worth it to bring in another quality arm like Nunez's. Still, now they'd almost certainly have to go get themselves a Juan Castro-type if Derek Jeter were to land on the disabled list. Nunez, 22, had a 4.85 ERA and a 90/27 K/BB ratio in 89 innings for Single-A Potomac and Double-A Harrisburg. He might be a setup man someday.

Jhonny Nunez - R - Mariners

Nationals acquired RHP Jhonny Nunez from the Dodgers for infielder Marlon Anderson and cash.

Nunez, 20, had a 1.58 ERA in seven starts and three relief appearances for the GCL Dodgers. He's old enough that he should get a look in full-season ball next year, and the Nationals will find out then whether he's a prospect.
