Royals designated LHP Everett Teaford for assignment.

The move clears a spot for the newly-acquired Carlos Peguero for assignment. Teaford, 29, made one appearance with the Royals last season and posted a 3.49 ERA and 99/39 K/BB ratio in 95 1/3 innings in the minors. He should draw interest on waivers.

Royals recalled LHP Everett Teaford from Triple-A Omaha.

Teaford will replace Donnie Joseph on the active roster as a left-handed middle reliever. He has a 2.88 ERA in 23 appearances with the Royals' Triple-A affiliate this season.

Everett Teaford (shoulder) will throw another bullpen session Friday and should be game ready by late next week.

Teaford has been dealing with some soreness in his pitching shoulder, but he's coming along nicely. He's competing for a middle relief spot for the Royals.

Everett Teaford (shoulder) is long-tossing at 75 feet with no issues.

"I threw from 75 feet, and it felt good. I am off today, and then tomorrow I'll throw from maybe 90 feet. You never know what tomorrow will bring," Teaford said Thursday. It sounds like the lefty should be ready to throw from a mound soon.

Everett Teaford (shoulder) is hoping to resume throwing off a mound on Monday.

Teaford miss his last two scheduled throwing sessions because of a sore shoulder. "It’s just a range-of-motion thing," Teaford said. "It’s not a major setback. I kept hoping it was one of those spring-training things where it will just be, boom, release and everything will be good. That my body would catch up. But I could feel my mechanics starting to go south."

Everett Teaford was scratched from his live batting practice session Friday due to minor shoulder soreness.

The Royals aren't concerned and expect the left-hander to resume throwing next week. Teaford will compete this spring for a spot as a long man in the bullpen.

The Royals have decided to pitch Everett Teaford and Vin Mazzaro on Wednesday against the Rangers rather than pitch Luke Hochevar on short rest.

Hochevar lasted just 1 2/3 innings and 63 pitches in his last start, which made the Royals consider bringing him back early, but they've decided against it. "We'd be pushing this a little bit," manager Ned Yost said. "Especially going in September, these guys need four days." It's not clear whether it will be Teaford or Mazzaro getting the ball first, but they're both capable of going multiple innings.

Everett Teaford got hit hard by the Tigers in Sunday's 7-1 loss, allowing five runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Teaford struck out five, walked one and served up a pair of home runs. It's unclear if he'll remain in the Royals rotation beyond the All-Star break. If he does, he'll do so as the owner of a 5.60 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 16/13 K/BB ratio through 27 1/3 innings.

Everett Teaford will start Sunday against the Tigers.

He earned the opportunity by giving up three runs over seven innings in Monday's win over the Blue Jays. The Tigers have a .699 OPS against left-handers this season, so Teaford be worth a look in deeper AL-only formats.

Everett Teaford made a statement for sticking in the Royals' rotation Monday, limiting the Blue Jays to three runs over seven solid innings in the 11-3 win.

He gave up just five hits and two walks while striking out a pair. Teaford has underwhelming stuff, but he's now allowed five runs over 12 innings in two starts since being recalled, which should certainly earn him another turn. He'll get the Tigers this weekend.

Everett Teaford delivered a solid start Wednesday, allowing two runs in five innings against the Rays.

Teaford, who had a 5.73 ERA in one start and two relief appearances back in April, was called up from Triple-A before the game. His next two starts figure to come in Toronto and Detroit, so he's an especially poor bet in AL-only leagues right now.

Royals recalled LHP Everett Teaford from Triple-A Omaha.

Teaford will make the start Wednesday afternoon against the Rays. The 28-year-old southpaw hasn't enjoyed much success at the major league level this year, but has a 1.09 ERA and 25/8 K/BB ratio in 33 innings over six starts and one relief appearance with the Storm Chasers. Most AL-only owners can afford to wait and see before picking him up.
