Rockies designated LHP Aaron Laffey for assignment.

The Rockies needed to clear a roster spot for Christian Bergman, who came off the disabled list on Saturday. It's the second time in the last month he's been DFA'd. The veteran owns a 3.68 ERA in three big league appearances this season.
Aug 1 - 6:07 PM

Rockies purchased the contract of LHP Aaron Laffey from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Laffey was designated for assignment by the Rockies earlier this month, but he stuck with the organization and now gets another shot. He'll act as a lefty specialist.
Jul 28 - 4:59 PM

Rockies sent LHP Aaron Laffey outright to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Laffey cleared waivers after being designated for assignment and will remain in the organization. He allowed three runs in 2 1/3 innings in his lone appearance for the Rockies.

Rockies designated LHP Aaron Laffey for assignment.

Laffey coughed up three runs in 2 1/3 innings on Friday, his only day on the roster. Colorado no doubt hoped he would soak up some more frames, but Laffey must go to get fellow southpaw Rex Brothers onto the roster.
Jul 11 - 1:58 PM

Rockies purchased the contract of LHP Aaron Laffey from Triple-A Albuquerque.

The 30-year-old hurler hasn't appeared in the big leagues since the 2013 season. He posted a 4.91 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 33/17 K/BB ratio over 47 2/3 innings at Triple-A. It's unclear if he'll be used as a spot starter, or long reliever in the bullpen.
Jul 10 - 7:18 PM

Rockies signed LHP Aaron Laffey to a minor league contract.

The 29-year-old hurler spent the 2014 season toiling away at Triple-A Syracuse in the Nationals organization, posting a 3.67 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 91/37 K/BB ratio over 147 innings. Given the current state of the Rockies starting rotation, he should be able to compete for a spot at the back end of the rotation in spring training.

Nationals signed LHP Aaron Laffey to a minor league contract.

The Nats recently lost Chris Young to the Mariners, so they grabbed Laffey to have another veteran arm in the system. Laffey was released by the Orioles earlier in the week and owns a 4.45 ERA for his major league career.

Orioles released LHP Aaron Laffey.

Laffey had been in minor league camp. The left-hander holds an unexciting 4.45 ERA and 1.52 WHIP over parts of seven big league seasons, but his experience and left-handedness will get him a shot somewhere.

Orioles signed LHP Aaron Laffey to a minor league contract.

He did not receive an invitation to spring training. Laffey logged a 7.11 ERA over 12 2/3 unexceptional innings for the Mets and Blue Jays last year. He's supreme organizational depth, nothing more.

Brewers signed LHP Aaron Laffey to a minor league contract; assigned him to Triple-A Nashville.

Laffey was released by the Dodgers earlier this month after posting a 5.61 ERA over his first 11 starts at Triple-A Albuquerque. The left-hander is doubtful to suddenly flourish in the Brewers' minor league system.

Dodgers released LHP Aaron Laffey.

Laffey latched on with the Dodgers at the end of April and posted a 5.61 ERA over 11 starts and one relief appearance with the team's Triple-A affiliate. The 28-year-old southpaw will attempt to latch on elsewhere.

Dodgers signed LHP Aaron Laffey to a minor league contract.

Laffey has been designated for assignment a couple times in the past week but has latched on with another organization quickly again. With the injuries in the Dodgers' rotation, it's a good landing spot for the lefty. He'll report to Triple-A Albuquerque for now.

Aaron Laffey has elected free agency.

Laffey cleared waivers after being designated for assignment by the Blue Jays this weekend, but he opted to refuse a minor league assignment. The 28-year-old southpaw has allowed 10 runs in 12 2/3 innings at the major league level this season, but it shouldn't take him too long to find a new home.

Blue Jays designated LHP Aaron Laffey for assignment.

The move doesn't come as a total surprise, as Laffey looked absolutely abysmal in Friday's spot start against the Yankees. With Brad Lincoln able to operate in a similar role for the Blue Jays, there wasn't a clear need for Laffey on the roster. He'll likely latch on elsewhere, but may have to settle for a minor league deal.
