Angels signed LHP Wesley Wright to a minor league contract.

Wright was released by the Orioles a week ago after being limited to just two appearances due to a shoulder injury. He's healthy now, though, and is a good depth add for the Halos.
Jul 29 - 12:56 PM

Orioles released LHP Wesley Wright.

He had been designated for assignment last week. It didn't work out for Wright with the Orioles, as he was limited to just two appearances due to a shoulder injury. If he's healthy, he should be scooped up quickly.
Jul 22 - 2:29 PM

Orioles activated LHP Wesley Wright from the 60-day disabled list; designated him for assignment.

Wright is over the shoulder ailment that's kept him out for most of the season, but the O's decided they had a better use of a 40-man roster spot. It shouldn't take the southpaw long to find a new home.
Jul 14 - 9:57 PM

Wesley Wright (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.

Wright has been out since mid-April with a strained left trapezius muscle. It's not clear how many rehab appearances he'll need before being activated.
Jun 15 - 5:36 PM

Wesley Wright (shoulder) will go on a rehab assignment after Friday's extended spring training game.

Wright isn't eligible to return for a few more days, but he likely won't be ready until after a few rehab outings. The left-hander has been on the disabled list since April 11 with a strained left trapezius muscle.

Orioles transferred LHP Wesley Wright from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

The move clears space on the 40-man roster for Chaz Roe. Wright is throwing in extended spring training games as he works his way back from a shoulder injury but now won't be eligible to return until mid-June.
May 24 - 11:44 AM

Wesley Wright (shoulder) is expected to need 1-2 more appearances in extended spring training before being activated from the disabled list.

Wright made his first appearance in extended spring on Tuesday. It sounds like he'll avoid a rehab assignment, potentially putting him in line to return next week.
May 20 - 9:01 AM

Wesley Wright (shoulder) will appear in an extended spring training game on May 19.

He should be ready for a rehab assignment shortly after that. Out since mid-April with inflammation in his left shoulder, Wright could rejoin the Orioles' bullpen before the end of the month.
May 3 - 12:00 PM

Wesley Wright will be sidelined for 4-6 weeks after an MRI revealed inflammation in his left shoulder.

It's obviously good news that no structural damage was found, as he'll be able to rehab with rest rather than surgery. But, the left-hander will still be on the shelf for a while, with a return probably well into May looking like the best-case scenario.
Apr 13 - 10:41 PM

Wesley Wright has a strained left trapezius muscle.

Wright was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday afternoon with what was described as a left shoulder injury. The left trapezius strain will likely keep him on the shelf for the remainder of April.
Apr 11 - 7:09 PM

Orioles placed LHP Wesley Wright on the 15-day disabled list with a left shoulder injury.

Wright had his sore shoulder examined Friday in Baltimore and the results apparently weren't promising. It's not yet clear how long he might be sidelined. Eddie Gamboa is taking his place in the bullpen.
Apr 11 - 4:26 PM

Wesley Wright is scheduled to have his shoulder examined after reporting soreness following Friday's outing against the Blue Jays.

While it doesn't sound serious, no pitcher ever wants to deal with arm trouble. The Orioles should know more about his status Saturday.
Apr 10 - 6:34 PM

Orioles signed LHP Wesley Wright to a one-year, $1.7 million contract.

Wright was non-tendered by the Cubs but quickly landed on his feet in Baltimore. The left-hander holds a 3.25 ERA while striking out nearly a batter per inning since the beginning of the 2011 season and should be a solid middle relief option for the Orioles.

Roch Kubatko of reports that the Orioles have agreed to a one-year contract with Wesley Wright.

There's no word yet on the financials of the deal. The O's had been on the lookout for left-handed relief help and Wright should do the job, as he holds a 3.25 ERA while striking out nearly a batter per inning since the beginning of the 2011 season.
