Rangers signed OF Aaron Cunningham to a minor league contract.

The deal includes a spring training invite. Cunningham, 26, batted .175 (17-for-97) with one home run and a .493 OPS in 72 games with the Indians this season. He'll likely serve as depth at the Triple-A level in 2013.

Indians sent OF Aaron Cunningham outright to Triple-A Columbus.

Cunningham was designated for assignment earlier this week and passed through waivers without attracting must interest. He hit .175 with a .493 OPS for the Tribe.

Indians designated OF Aaron Cunningham for assignment.

He was cleared to make room for the newly-claimed Brent Lillibridge on the active roster. Cunningham is hitting just .175 with one homer and a .493 OPS in 97 at-bats this year. Still, another organization could take a flier on him.

Aaron Cunningham said he's 100 percent recovered from a right hand injury.

Cunningham tweaked something with an awkward swing a few days ago, but he's over it now. The 25-year-old is aiming to earn a bench spot with the Indians.

Aaron Cunningham has sat out the Indians' past two intrasquad games due to a sore left hand.

The 25-year-old outfielder is expected to be back to full health and available for live action by the weekend. With Grady Sizemore out 8-12 weeks following back surgery, Cunningham could be in line for a decent amount of playing time over the 2012 season's first few months.

Indians acquired OF Aaron Cunningham from the Padres for RHP Cory Burns.

Cunningham, who was acquired from the Athletics in the Kevin Kouzmanoff deal, spent most of the 2011 season with Triple-A Tucson. The former top prospect has a lousy .231/.290/.375 batting line over 392 plate appearances in the big leagues, but bats from the right side and can play all three outfield positions. He could be a useful bench player for the Tribe.

Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com reports that the Indians have acquired outfielder Aaron Cunningham from the Padres in exchange for relief prospect Cory Burns.

Cunningham spent most of the 2011 season at Triple-A and raked there, batting .329/.398/.532 with nine homers over 384 plate appearances. He hit only .178/.257/.367 over 101 plate appearances in his time with the Padres. The 25-year-old should get some playing time against left-handed pitching. Burns was not ranked by Baseball America among the Indians' top-30 prospects coming into the season, but he boasts a 2.02 ERA and 11.5 K/9 rate over 130 career minor league games. He finished 2011 at Double-A.

Padres called up OF Aaron Cunningham from Triple-A Tucson.

Cunningham will make the start in right field Monday and bat sixth against left-hander Clayton Kershaw. The 25-year-old outfielder is 2-for-12 (.167) with the Padres this season and was batting .329/.398/.532 nine homers and 63 RBI over 384 plate appearances in the minors. The Padres' outfield is in a state of flux at the moment, so the former top prospect could grab semi-regular playing time if he gets off to a hot start.

Cunningham went 2-for-12 in a little over a week with the big league Padres. He will head back to Triple-A and function as organizational outfield depth.

Padres recalled OF Aaron Cunningham from Triple-A Tucson.

He's had a nice year at Triple-A, batting .292/.376/.474 with five home runs. Cunningham will provide some depth in the outfield with Cameron Maybin landing on the DL.

Padres optioned OF Aaron Cunningham to Triple-A Tucson.

It certainly wasn't because of his play on the field. Cunningham batted .326 with two homers, five doubles and eight RBI over 46 at-bats this spring. He suffered a high calf strain last week, which could be a significant reason why the Padres ultimately decided to carry Cedric Hunter as a reserve outfielder.

Aaron Cunningham was scratched from Tuesday's lineup with a high calf strain.

The severity of the injury isn't yet known. The 24-year-old outfielder is batting .326/.373/.565 with two home runs, five doubles and eight RBI over 46 at-bats this spring. Despite his strong performance, he is expected to begin the season with Triple-A Tucson.

Aaron Cunningham led off for the first time this year and collected three hits and scored twice in a big win for the Padres.

He has actually been walking at a poor rate for a leadoff hitter, but he's been lucky with batted balls and has a little power and speed, so moving to the top of the lineup can only be good news for his fantasy value. He's shown promise in the minor leagues in four different organizations, and this could be a breakout for him finally.

Padres recalled OF Aaron Cunningham from Triple-A Portland.

We like what Chris Denorfia has been doing, but he's already pretty banged up and his regression is probably imminent. Cunningham at least provides another option in that regard. The 24-year-old outfielder is batting .312 with one home run and 13 RBI in 77 at-bats with the Padres this season.
