Ivan DeJesus Jr. ripped a two-run homer in Tuesday's loss to the Mets.
Making a spot start in place of the injured Brandon Phillips (finger, shin), DeJesus lifted a Bartolo Colon offering over the left field wall in the fourth inning. It gave the Reds a 3-0 lead at the time, but they were outscored 4-0 the rest of the way. Apr 26 - 10:26 PM

Ivan DeJesus Jr. launched a three-run homer in Wednesday's win over the Phillies.

The longball capped off a four-run first inning by the Reds and that wound up being all they needed. DeJesus Jr. didn't homer in 50 games for Triple-A Louisville this season but has now gone deep in two of three starts since being called up. He could have earned some playing time at shortstop while Zack Cozart (knee) is out.

Reds purchased the contract of INF Ivan DeJesus Jr. from Triple-A Louisville.

The 28-year-old was batting .303/.378/.384 in 50 games this season for Louisville. De Jesus is capable of playing all around the infield and will likely do just that in a part-time role with the big-league Reds.

Reds prospect Ivan DeJesus owns the fifth-highest average in Triple-A, batting .452 in his first nine games for Louisville.

DeJesus upped his hitting streak to nine games Sunday with a 2-for-5 effort against Indianapolis. The 27-year-old has two or more hits in three of his last four games. He hasn't shown much power though, as only four of his 14 hits have gone for extra bases. DeJesus hasn't been called up to the majors since 2012.

Reds signed INF Ivan DeJesus Jr. to a minor league contract.

The 27-year-old infielder was acquired by the Red Sox as part of last season's Kelly Johnson trade with the Orioles. He hit a respectable .281/.359/.386 with five homers and 57 RBI in 115 contests at Triple-A in 2014. He'll have a chance to compete for a utility role with the Reds during spring training.

Red Sox acquired INFs Ivan DeJesus Jr. and Jemile Weeks from the Orioles for INFs Michael Almanzar and Kelly Johnson.

DeJesus, 27, was hitting .282/.358/.389 with five home runs and 56 RBI in 113 games this season for the Orioles' Triple-A team. He hasn't appeared in the majors since 2012 -- when he was a member of the Red Sox.

Orioles reassigned INF Ivan DeJesus Jr. and LHP Eduardo Rodriguez to minor league camp.

Neither player had a legitimate shot at claiming an Opening Day roster spot. DeJesus and Rodriguez will serve as organizational depth this season for the Orioles.

Orioles signed INF Ivan DeJesus, Jr. to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

DeJesus has appeared in 48 games in the majors between the Dodgers and Red Sox and spent this past season with the Pirates' Triple-A affiliate, where he hit .319/.380/.457 over 103 games. The 26-year-old could surface on Baltimore's bench at some point.

Pirates acquired INF Ivan DeJesus, Jr. from the Red Sox in the Joel Hanrahan deal.

DeJesus owns a .298 batting average and .370 on-base percentage in the minors, but he has scuffled in sporadic opportunities in the majors. Without much in the way of pop or speed, the 25-year-old likely fits best as a utility player in the long-term.

Red Sox sent INF Ivan DeJesus Jr. outright to Triple-A Pawtucket.

DeJesus was designated for assignment last week but has cleared waivers and will remain in the organization. He's batted just .205/.253/.247 over 48 career games.

Red Sox designated INF Ivan DeJesus Jr. for assignment.

DeJesus was out of options, and the Sox already have a similar player on the roster in Pedro Ciriaco. It's possible he'll receive some interest on waivers.
Tue, Nov 20, 2012 11:42:00 PM

Red Sox recalled INF Ivan DeJesus Jr. from Triple-A Pawtucket.

Acquired from the Dodgers in last month's megadeal, DeJesus has batted .273/.324/.364 in 23 big league games this season. He'll provide infield depth.

Red Sox acquired INF Ivan DeJesus Jr., RHP Allan Webster, 1B James Loney and two players to be named later from the Dodgers for 1B Adrian Gonzalez, RHP Josh Beckett, OF Carl Crawford, INF Nick Punto and cash considerations.

DeJesus has posted a pedestrian .295/.333/.415 batting line with three home runs and 33 RBI in 60 games this season at the Triple-A level. The 25-year-old from Puerto Rico can play all around the field but is doubtful to ever become an offensive threat in the major leagues.

Dodgers optioned INF Ivan DeJesus Jr. to Triple-A Albuquerque.

He was sent down in order to make room for Scott Van Slyke on the active roster. DeJesus Jr. is hitting .273 (9-for-33) in 23 games with the Dodgers this season and should return to the major league level later this summer.

Ivan De Jesus Jr. hit a two-run double in the top of the ninth to lead the Dodgers to an 8-7 win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

De Jesus didn't start, but he had a game-tying sac fly as a pinch-hitter in the seventh and then the go-ahead double in the ninth. One would hope it might earn him a start in Wednesday's game. De Jesus doesn't have much of a bat, but he is a fine defender, especially at second base. Odds are he'll get a start and Adam Kennedy will sit against the left-hander in the series finale.
