Diamondbacks signed OF Jordan Parraz to a minor league contract
The 29-year-old outfielder had a disappointing start to his 2013 season, slashing a meager .141/.230/.321 in 29 games at Triple-A Gwinnett before being released by the Braves. He caught on with the Twins though, and put up a respectable .261/.347/.444 line with 11 homers, 33 RBI and five swipes in 74 games at Double-A New Britain. He has the ability to play all three outfield positions, and will serve as organizational depth for the D'Backs. Fri, Nov 8, 2013 08:27:00 PM

Yankees sent OF Jordan Parraz outright to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Parraz was claimed off waivers in November but was designated for assignment last week when the team acquired Justin Maxwell. He batted .266/.350/.410 with 11 home runs and 61 RBI over 501 plate appearances in the Royals organization last season. The 26-year-old has been given a spring training invite but will almost surely begin the season in the minors.

Yankees claimed OF Jordan Parraz off waivers from the Red Sox.

Boston picked Parraz up off waivers from the Royals in November, but he lasted less than a month in the organization. The 26-year-old hit .266/.350/.410 with 11 homers at Triple-A Omaha in 2010. If he's still with the Yanks on Opening Day, he'll begin the year at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Red Sox claimed OF Jordan Parraz off waivers from the Royals.

Parraz batted .266/.350/.410 with 11 homers over 432 at-bats at Triple-A Omaha this past season. The former third-round pick will compete for a roster spot in spring training but will almost surely begin 2011 at Triple-A.

Royals designated OF Jordan Parraz for assignment.

Parraz is a good athlete that's also played some shortstop in his minor league days, but he's now 26 and didn't do much to impress this past season in his first full year at Triple-A.

Royals acquired outfielder Jordan Parraz from the Astros to complete the Tyler Lumsden trade.

Parraz, 24, was available in the Rule 5 draft, but he went unpicked. The 2004 third-round pick hit .289/.399/.419 with 21 steals at Single-A Salem last season. However, he was playing against a lot of younger competition and he was a bust in Hawaii this fall, hitting .213/.301/.264 in 80 at-bats. He's a long shot to have a career in the majors.

Low Single-A Lexington's Jordan Parraz went 4-for-4 with a homer on Friday.

Parraz, a 2004 third-round pick, is batting .268/.350/.434 with 28 steals as a 22-year-old in the Sally League. He has the tools to make it as an outfielder, but there were a lot of teams that liked him better as a pitcher and he might have had a better chance of reaching the majors that way. As is, he seems like a long shot.
