Mets recalled C Anthony Recker from Triple-A Las Vegas.

The 31-year-old backstop is irrelevant for fantasy purposes as he's a career .191/.266/.349 hitter over 424 big league at-bats. He'll serve as the backup to Kevin Plawecki while Travis d'Arnaud is sidelined.

The club has decided to keep Kevin Plawecki as Travis d'Arnaud's backup. Recker has batted just .143/.276/.265 this season.

Anthony Recker clubbed a pair of solo homers Thursday against the Cubs.

It was the first multi-homer game by a member of the Mets this season. Recker came into Thursday’s game hitting just .176 (3-for-17) with zero homers across his first nine games this season. While Recker had a nice day at the plate, he wasn’t so good behind it, as he had a passed ball which allowed the go-ahead run to score in the seventh inning.
May 14 - 5:16 PM

Anthony Recker has been diagnosed with a bone spur in the back of his right elbow.

Recker will play through the issue, but he might have surgery after the season to correct it. The Mets acquired minor league catcher Dan Rohlfing Wednesday to provide some depth at the position.
Apr 22 - 9:41 PM

Anthony Recker went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Nationals.

Recker replaced Travis d'Arnaud (wrist) in the top of the fifth inning and quickly made his presence felt, homering off of Tanner Roark to lead off the bottom half of the inning. Recker has homered in both of his September starts. Further, he's homered in four out of his last six starts. He has seven on the season along with 24 RBI and a paltry .197/.230/.382 slash line.

Anthony Recker slugged a three-run homer as the Mets took down the Phillies 5-3 on Monday afternoon.

It was the only hit of the game for Recker, but it broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the seventh inning and gave the Mets all the offense they would need for the remainder of the afternoon. Recker is batting .187/.224/.324 this season as the Mets' backup catcher. He has four home runs and 17 RBI in 45 games played.

Anthony Recker (hand) hit a three-run homer in his return to the Mets' lineup on Sunday.

Recker hadn't played in close to 10 days, partially due to a bruise on his right hand that he suffered June 28 on a foul tip. The 30-year-old backup catcher hit his three-run shot in the first inning Sunday, helping the Mets to a big early lead that they would not relinquish.

X-rays taken Saturday night on Anthony Recker's bruised right hand came up negative.

Recker was hit on the hand by a foul ball in Saturday's game against the Pirates. He never had to leave the game, but he had his hand wrapped in ice in the clubhouse afterward and was taken to get the X-rays. All is well.

Anthony Recker had a big day at the plate in the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader against the Diamondbacks, going 4-for-4 with a double.

The veteran backstop was also caught stealing in the ballgame. He has done a nice job filling in for the injured Travis d’Arnaud, but his run of usefulness in NL-only leagues will run out once d’Arnaud returns later this week.

Anthony Recker went 2-for-4 with his second home run of the season in Wednesday's win over the Diamondbacks.

In for Travis d'Arnaud, Recker made the most of his spot start. He took Brandon McCarthy deep for a solo home run to start the scoring, and he later added a double off the right-hander. He's got two homers and four RBI through 14 at-bats to start the year.

Anthony Recker homered off Matt Shoemaker in the top of the 13th to power the Mets past the Angels on Saturday.

Recker also had a big two-run single in the seventh that gave the Mets a 4-3 lead. It was 6-3 in the top of the ninth, when Jose Valverde gave up a game-tying three-run homer. The Mets, though, persevered and came through in the end, thanks mostly to the bottom of their lineup; Lucas Duda, Juan Lagares, Recker and Omar Quintanilla had nine of their 11 hits and all seven of their RBI from the 6th-through-9th slots.
