Braves purchased the contract of C Anthony Recker from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Recker will fill in for Tyler Flowers, who will be out for at least a month with a fracture in his left hand. Recker, 32, is a .185/.260/.334 career hitter at the major league level and can remain ignored in fantasy leagues. He'll share time at catcher with A.J. Pierzynski.

He'll be replacing Tyler Flowers, who is due to miss the next 4-6 weeks with a fracture in his left hand. Recker, 32, is a .185/.260/.334 career hitter at the major league level. He will presumably share time behind the plate with 39-year-old A.J. Pierzynski.

Braves acquired C Anthony Recker from the Indians for cash considerations; assigned him to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Recker was batting .246/.395/.426 with two home runs and 10 RBI in 19 games this season for the Indians' Triple-A affiliate. It's feasible that he could see action at some point this season with the rapidly-rebuilding Braves, but the 32-year-old has never hit too well in the majors.
May 9 - 12:43 PM

Indians signed C Anthony Recker to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Recker batted just .125/.239/.213 in 32 games this past season for the Mets. He's merely a depth addition.

Mets recalled C Anthony Recker from Triple-A Las Vegas.

The 31-year-old backstop is irrelevant for fantasy purposes as he's a career .191/.266/.349 hitter over 424 big league at-bats. He'll serve as the backup to Kevin Plawecki while Travis d'Arnaud is sidelined.

Anthony Recker clubbed a pair of solo homers Thursday against the Cubs.

It was the first multi-homer game by a member of the Mets this season. Recker came into Thursday’s game hitting just .176 (3-for-17) with zero homers across his first nine games this season. While Recker had a nice day at the plate, he wasn’t so good behind it, as he had a passed ball which allowed the go-ahead run to score in the seventh inning.

Anthony Recker went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Nationals.

Recker has homered in both of his September starts. Further, he's homered in four out of his last six starts. He has seven on the season along with 24 RBI and a paltry .197/.230/.382 slash line.

Anthony Recker slugged a three-run homer as the Mets took down the Phillies 5-3 on Monday afternoon.

It was the only hit of the game for Recker, but it broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the seventh inning and gave the Mets all the offense they would need for the remainder of the afternoon. Recker is batting .187/.224/.324 this season as the Mets' backup catcher. He has four home runs and 17 RBI in 45 games played.
