Pedro Florimon hit a walk-off RBI triple, allowing the Pirates to beat the Diamondbacks in the 15th inning.

Florimon entered as a pinch-runner in the eighth inning and was stranded. He struck out and flied out in his first two at-bats before sending the Pirates home with an RBI triple off of the right field wall in the 15th inning. It was only the second hit and first RBI Florimon had recorded in 21 plate appearances at the big league level this season, as he carries a .105/.190/.211 batting line.

Pedro Florimon Jr. went 0-for-3 and lost a popup in the sun for an RBI double Thursday in the loss to the Angels.

Florimon is hitting .096 this year, so he needs to be pretty stellar defensively to justify some playing time and he hasn't been quite that good. He'll return to the bench once Danny Santana gets healthy.

Twins recalled INF Pedro Florimon from Triple-A Rochester.

He's taking Trevor Plouffe's (oblique) spot on the roster. Florimon was sent down last month after hitting just .108/.194/.154, and he didn't exactly catch the world on fire at Triple-A, either, with a .230/.291/.330. The 27-year-old will be used as a backup infielder.

Florimon was batting .108/.194/.154 in 25 games with the Twins. He will work on his game at Triple-A and should get another look in Minnesota later this season.
