Brandon Crawford went 0-for-3 on Wednesday and is 1-for-14 the last five days.
Crawford's August surge didn't last, and he's 8-for-38 with one extra-base hit in his last 11 games. Of course, the Giants are still hitting him four or fifth regularly anyway, even with his OBP below .300 and slugging percentage hanging around .400. Sep 14 - 2:36 AM

Date:

Brandon Crawford went 3-for-5 with an RBI double and two runs scored in a 9-2 victory over the White Sox on Friday.

Crawford hit out of the cleanup spot for the fifth time in his last six games. This hasn’t been the sort of season many were hoping for, but he’s hitting .384 (28-for-73) with four homers and 12 RBI over his last 20 games.
Sep 9 - 1:27 AM

Brandon Crawford homered and doubled twice against the Cardinals on Friday.

Crawford lost a homer to bad call Thursday, so instead of having two homers and three doubles the last two days, he has one homer and four doubles, which is still pretty good. His OPS is above .700 for the first time since June 20.
Sep 2 - 1:43 AM

Brandon Crawford went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI as the Giants fell to the Cardinals on Thursday.

His RBI "double" in the ninth inning actually should have been ruled a two-run homer on a ball that clearly would have left the yard, but the umpires couldn't get the call right after a five-minute review and made Crawford stay at second base. With the two-hit night, Crawford is now hitting .244/.293/.398 with 12 homers and 65 RBI on the year.
Sep 1 - 2:03 AM

Brandon Crawford rejoined the starting lineup Monday and went 2-for-4 with a solo homer against the Padres.

Crawford didn't start Sunday because of hamstring tightness. His homer tonight was his 12th.
Aug 29 - 12:59 AM

Brandon Crawford is not in the Giants' lineup Sunday due to some minor hamstring tightness.

It sounds like he should be back in there in a day or two. Denard Span is also sitting out, as the Giants have Kelby Tomlinson at shortstop and Gorkys Hernandez in center field.

Brandon Crawford launched his 11th home run of the season in a losing effort against the Brewers on Tuesday evening.

Crawford socked a go-ahead two-run homer off of Brewers' starter Jimmy Nelson in the fifth inning, giving the Giants a 3-2 lead. Unfortunately, that would be the last time they'd score in the contest. He finished the night 1-for-3 plus a walk, raising his disappointing season slash to .234/.285/.378 to go along with 11 homers and 63 RBI.
Aug 23 - 1:36 AM

Brandon Crawford delivered an RBI double in Monday’s victory over the Brewers.

Crawford, who went 1-for-4 on the day, got the Giants on the board in the fourth inning. It was more than enough for rookie Chris Stratton and the Giants’ bullpen. Crawford has compiled a disappointing .233/.283/.371 batting line through 109 games, but he leads the team with 61 RBI. Of course, that probably says more about the kind of year the Giants are having than anything else.
Aug 22 - 1:39 AM

Brandon Crawford homered, doubled and walked Friday against the Phillies.

The homer was just his second in 118 at-bats since the All-Star break. Crawford has spent nearly two months now with his average in the .220s and .230s, and his defensive numbers haven't been as good as usual, either. He was one of the NL's top 15 or so players in both 2015 and 2016, but this year, he's been well below average.
Aug 19 - 1:22 AM

Brandon Crawford is not in the Giants' starting lineup for the second game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Nationals.

Crawford went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in the first game on Sunday. Kelby Tomlinson is starting in his place at shortstop and batting eighth for the Giants against Max Scherzer and the Nationals.
Aug 13 - 4:52 PM

Brandon Crawford reached four times Wednesday, finishing with a single and three walks against the A's.

Oddly enough, his three walks were the only ones drawn by the Giants all night. Crawford has had an extremely disappointing year at the plate; he entered the night at .227/.268/.372 (with just 18 unintentional walks in 369 plate appearances). His defense has still made him an adequate player for the Giants, but he hasn't had much to offer fantasy leaguers.
Aug 3 - 1:09 AM

Brandon Crawford went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Friday's loss to the Dodgers.

Crawford connected for a solo home run off Alex Wood in the second inning. The homer was his first since July 9. Overall, the shortstop is slashing a lackluster .232/.273/.384 with nine homers and 53 RBI in 87 games played.
Jul 29 - 1:01 AM

Brandon Crawford went 1-for-4 with an RBI double in Sunday's loss to the Padres.

Crawford hit an RBI double off Trevor Cahill in the second inning. That hit drove in the only run the Giants would score on the afternoon. For the season as a whole, the shortstop is slashing .225/.266/.371 with eight homers and 46 RBI across 76 games played. He has driven in exactly 84 runs in each of the past two campaigns, a mark which he should be in play to meet or surpass when all is said and done this time around.
Jul 16 - 7:40 PM

Brandon Crawford went 2-for-5 with a homer and three RBI in the Giants' loss to the Marlins on Sunday.

Crawford opened the game's scoring with a two-run shot off Marlins starter Jose Urena in the bottom of the second inning before adding an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth. The 30-year-old shortstop is still batting just .225/.266/.369 in 73 total games this season, but he did finish the first half on a high note.
Jul 9 - 8:34 PM

Brandon Crawford finished 1-for-3 with a walk, run scored and two RBI in Saturday's loss against the Marlins.

Crawford is just 8-for-68 (.118) since June 18, dropping his average from .258 to .222. He has been a huge disappointment for the Giants this season, as he had posted 84 RBI in each of the past two seasons, including an All-Star appearance in 2015. Crawford has looked anything like an All-Star this season, slashing an ugly .222/.264/.357 through 266 at-bats.
