Brandon Crawford's three-run homer in the seventh inning propelled the Giants to a comeback win over the Reds on Monday.
The Reds tagged Johnny Cueto for six runs in the third inning, but then the Big Dread Machine known as the Reds bullpen went to work. JC Ramirez and Drew Hayes were lit up for six runs over their two innings, highlighted by Crawford's bomb. The Giants shortstop also tacked on an RBI single in the ninth. Crawford is hitting .253/.343/.414 with three homers and 10 RBI. May 2 - 11:04 PM

Brandon Crawford doubled twice and was intentionally walked twice Friday against the Marlins.

Crawford upped his average to .246. Though he has two homers already, he's collected just four RBI, which is partly a product of batting behind the struggling Matt Duffy in the order. That's changed now, as the Giants have returned Duffy to the third spot in the lineup in an effort to get him going.
Apr 23 - 1:34 AM

Brandon Crawford is back in the Giants' lineup Saturday against the Dodgers.

He'll bat seventh against Dodgers left-hander Scott Kazmir. Crawford got the night off Friday after his hip flared up Thursday in a loss to Colorado. Kelby Tomlinson will take a seat after filling in for Crawford on Friday night.
Apr 16 - 5:58 PM

Brandon Crawford is not in the Giants starting lineup for Friday's game against the Dodgers.

Crawford is considered day-to-day after leaving Thursday's game with a hip flexor injury. Given the fact that they're facing Clayton Kershaw, holding him out an extra day seems like a no-brainer. Kelby Tomlinson will start in his place on Friday.
Apr 15 - 6:33 PM

Brandon Crawford left Thursday's game against the Rockies with a hip flexor injury.

Ehire Adrianza replaced Crawford in the seventh inning but was forced from the game an inning later after fouling a ball off his left foot. Crawford considers himself questionable for Friday's game against the Dodgers. If Crawford sits, Kelby Tomlinson would likely start in his place with Joe Panik filling in at second base.
Apr 14 - 7:17 PM

Brandon Crawford is not in the Giants starting lineup against the Dodgers on Saturday.

Both Crawford and second baseman Joe Panik are getting a breather against tough opposing left-hander Clayton Kershaw. Expect the duo to be back in there for Sunday's series finale.
Apr 9 - 1:13 PM

Brandon Crawford hit a walkoff homer off Joe Blanton in the 10th, giving the Giants a 3-2 win over the Dodgers on Friday.

The Giants had two hits on the night, both of them leaving the yard. It was Crawford's second career walkoff homer, the other coming on April 13, 2014 against the Rockies. Crawford is 6-for-18 with two homers and three walks to date.
Apr 9 - 2:00 AM

Brandon Crawford doubled and smacked a solo homer in Tuesday's win over the Brewers.

Crawford's longball off of Jimmy Nelson in the third inning tied the score, and he later added a two-bagger against closer Jeremy Jeffress. We're not sure the shortstop's power outbreak from last season will hold, but he can still be a valuable fantasy shortstop even if he falls off a bit in that department.
Apr 5 - 11:15 PM

Brandon Crawford blasted a three-run home run in the first inning on Friday, helping to power the Giants to a 15-6 victory over the Padres in Cactus League play.

Crawford's three-run shot came off of Padres starter Brandon Maurer and capped off a four-run first inning. He also singled and drew a walk in the ballgame, finishing the night 2-for-3 to raise his spring average to .308 (8-for-26).
Mar 19 - 8:14 AM

Brandon Crawford (shoulder) and Denard Span (hip) are expected to play in the field next week.

So far, both have been limited to DH duty. Span is coming off hip surgery while Crawford is dealing with a more recent ailment. Crawford more than doubled his career-high in home runs last season, though fantasy owners had to live with his disappointing average (.256).
Mar 5 - 9:37 PM

Brandon Crawford is dealing with shoulder soreness.

It's something that creeps up on him every spring around this time. Crawford will be limited to DH duty in Cactus League games for the next week or so, but he should ultimately be fine. The 29-year-old shortstop broke out with 21 home runs and 84 RBI last season for the Giants and parlayed that into a six-year, $75 million contract extension.
Mar 2 - 6:10 PM

Giants signed SS Brandon Crawford to a six-year, $75 million contract extension.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal provided the details of the contract, which includes a full no-trade clause. Crawford was previously eligible to be a free agent after 2017, but he will now be locked up through the 2021 season. The 28-year-old shortstop holds a career triple-slash of .246/.313/.383 in his five seasons with the Giants. Known as a strong defender, he broke out offensively in 2015 with a .256/.321/.462 batting line to go along with 21 homers, 84 RBI and six steals. He made his first All-Star appearance in July and recently won his first career Silver Slugger Award and Gold Glove Award.

Brandon Crawford (calf, oblique) has returned to the Giants starting lineup on Friday.

Crawford has been limited to just six games since August 26 due to his array of ailments, but it sounds as though he's ready to go. Fantasy owners can safely activate him for the stretch run.

Brandon Crawford (calf, oblique) could be used as a pinch-hitter Wednesday.

Crawford remains out of the lineup, but he took batting practice Wednesday and said it went well. The shortstop is expected to be back in the Giants' lineup on Friday. He's played just six games since August 26 due to left calf tightness and left oblique tightness.
Wed, Sep 16, 2015 08:23:00 PM

Brandon Crawford (calf, oblique) is likely to return to the Giants' lineup on Friday.

There's an outside chance he could play Wednesday, but with an off day Thursday it makes sense for the Giants to hold Crawford back until Friday. The shortstop has played just six games since August 26 because of tightness in his left calf and left oblique but has resumed hitting with no issues.
