Brandon Crawford went 2-for-4 and drove home three runs on Sunday, leading the Giants to a 5-0 victory over the Royals in Game 5 of the World Series.
Crawford came through with an RBI groundout in the second inning to plate Hunter Pence and get the Giants on the board. He would later add another RBI with a two-out single off James Shields in the fifth inning to score Pablo Sandoval. Crawford then completed the Giants scoring for the evening with a RBI bloop single to left field that scored Juan Perez in a three-run uprising in the eighth. He’s now hitting .250 with a homer and a team-leading eight RBI in the postseason. Oct 26 - 11:25 PM

Brandon Crawford will bat eighth in Game 3 of the NLCS against the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Crawford is 2-for-20 since Game 1 of the NLDS, so Giants manager Bruce Bochy has flip-flopped him with Travis Ishikawa in the order. Here's the full lineup: Gregor Blanco CF, Joe Panik 2B, Buster Posey C, Pablo Sandoval 3B, Hunter Pence RF, Brandon Belt 1B, Ishikawa LF, Crawford SS, Tim Hudson SP.
Oct 14 - 12:25 PM

Brandon Crawford continued his hot hitting in Friday's victory over the Nationals, going 3-for-4 with a double.

Noted more for his strong chops defensively, the offensive hero of Wednesday's Wild Card game, has really stepped his game up under the bright lights of postseason play. If he continues to produce, he extends the Giants lineup and makes them a serious threat to make another deep run into October.
Oct 3 - 7:30 PM

Brandon Crawford hit a grand slam in the fourth inning of the Giants' win over the Pirates in Wednesday's Wild Card Game.

Of all the unlikely heroes in a one-game playoff, Crawford may have been among the unlikeliest. But there he was, pulling an Edinson Volquez curveball into the right field stands for a grand slam that gave the Giants the lead and ultimately the victory. Crawford finished 1-for-5 in the game, but he can go hitless until 2015 and still have earned his spot in the lineup this postseason.
Oct 1 - 11:23 PM

Brandon Crawford had a two-run homer and an RBI double versus the Dodgers in Friday's rout.

The homer was just his second in 50 career games against the Dodgers. He's now tied his career high with nine homers on the year, matching his total from last year. He's off to a 12-for-29 start in September after hitting just .173 in July and .193 in August.
Sep 13 - 2:20 AM

Brandon Crawford is not in the Giants starting lineup for Saturday afternoon's tilt against the Tigers.

Crawford has been battling a sore shoulder which caused him to miss a pair of games earlier in the week, so his absence appears to be precautionary. Matt Duffy will start in his place and bat eighth against opposing southpaw David Price.
Sep 6 - 10:39 AM

Brandon Crawford wasn't in the lineup Thursday for the second straight game due to a right shoulder injury.

Crawford said Thursday that the shoulder has been "bugging me pretty good the last four or five days" and is an issue on his throws. It doesn't sound like something that will force him to the disabled list, but it's also unclear if Crawford will be ready to play Friday.
Aug 29 - 10:21 AM

Brandon Crawford went 3-for-4 with an RBI single and a run scored Friday against the Mets.

Crawford also had his ninth triple of the season. The three-hit night was nice to see from the 27-year-old, who entered Friday's action with an ugly .173 batting average and 21 strikeouts over 75 at-bats this month. He's shown a bit more pop this season, but most in mixed leagues can do better.
Aug 1 - 9:40 PM

Brandon Crawford went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Sunday's loss to the Dodgers.

The Giants shortstop plated Michael Morse with an RBI single in the fourth inning that put the Giants ahead 2-1 at the time. With the two-hit effort, he now sports a .238/.323/.404 slash line on the season to go along with eight homers and 45 RBI.
Jul 27 - 11:27 PM

Brandon Crawford cleared the bases with a double to break a 3-3 tie in the 14th inning as the Giants defeated the Phillies on Tuesday.

Crawford took advantage of a struggling Jeff Manship, lacing a two-out double to left-center to give the Giants an 8-5 lead. They would tack on one more run just for good measure. Crawford had previously knocked in a run with a ground out and finished 2-for-6 on the night. The shortstop is slashing .239/.323/.413 with eight home runs and 44 RBI on the season.
Jul 23 - 12:56 AM

Brandon Crawford went 2-for-3 with a walk, triple and two runs scored against the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Crawford now has seven triples on the season, helping to prop up his .460 slugging percentage. The triple was also his second in the last two games. Career-best slugging percentage aside, there are still plenty of better options at shortstop for fantasy owners outside of NL-only leagues.
Jun 23 - 12:13 AM

Brandon Crawford is not in the Giants starting lineup for Friday night's game against the Rockies.

It's just a routine day of rest for the veteran shortstop. Ehire Adrianza will draw the start in his place and hit eighth against opposing southpaw Jorge De La Rosa.
Jun 13 - 6:38 PM

Brandon Crawford went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Mets.

Crawford delivered an RBI single in the second inning, and he also doubled in the game. He's got hits in six of his last seven games, pulling his average up from .236 to .250. He's scored six runs and collected eight RBI in that span. He's provided surprising value for NL-only owners thus far.
Jun 8 - 9:47 PM

Brandon Crawford went 3-for-5 with a splash hit Wednesday for his fifth homer of the year.

Crawford is hitting his usual .250ish, but now has more homers this year than he did in 2012 and more than half of his 2013 total of nine in 499 at-bats. It's too bad he's not a basestealer at all; that's what really limits him as a fantasy shortstop.
