Cory Rasmus (forearm) has been playing catch and told reporters Tuesday that he feels great.

Rasmus should be fine to rejoin the Angels' bullpen when rosters expand in September if his rehab for a right forearm strain continues to go smoothly. He has a 5.06 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and 13/5 K/BB ratio in 10 2/3 innings this season at the major league level.

The right-hander has only appeared in seven games for the Halos this season, compiling a 5.06 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 13/5 K/BB ratio over 10 2/3 innings. He should be ready to rejoin the bullpen in September.

Cory Rasmus allowed two runs on three hits over three innings in earning a no-decision against the Dodgers on Sunday.

Rasmus was starting in place of the injured C.J. Wilson. Primarily a reliever, the Angels let him go three innings against the Dodgers on Sunday. He pitched adequately (if not spectacularly) in his time on the mound, striking out three and walking none. A two-run home run by Howie Kendrick in the third inning accounted for both runs against Rasmus. The Angels have yet to announce how they will be setting up their rotation moving forward, so another start is not a given for the 27-year-old.

He'll take Mike Morin's spot in the Angels' bullpen. Rasmus had core muscle surgery in March and has been limited to just 10 appearances (including three starts) at the Triple-A level this year.

Cory Rasmus (abdomen) is an option to take Jered Weaver's (hip) spot in the Angels' rotation.

Rasmus just began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Salt Lake and would only be able to go 3-4 innings if the Angels pick him to take the ball next week. He's been out all season following core muscle surgery.

Cory Rasmus (abdomen) will begin a rehab assignment in the next couple days.

He's been out all season following core muscle surgery, so the rehab assignment figures to be a lengthy one. Rasmus has started and relieved for the Angels but will likely be brought back as a relief option.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia said Sunday that Cory Rasmus (abdomen) is not ready for rehab appearances.

Rasmus resumed throwing in late May, but he hasn't been cleared yet to pitch in live minor league games and it's not clear when that will happen. The 27-year-old right-hander has been out all season with a core muscle injury. He underwent surgery in March.
