Phillies designated RHP Jeff Manship for assignment.

Manship posted a 6.65 ERA over 20 relief appearances for the Phils. He shouldn't have trouble passing through waivers.
Jul 23 - 2:18 PM

Phillies activated RHP Jeff Manship from the 15-day disabled list.

Manship held a 5.89 ERA over 16 appearances before going down with a quad injury in early June. He'll be used in low-leverage situations.
Jul 9 - 12:09 AM

Jeff Manship (quad) threw a hitless inning Saturday for the Gulf Coast League Phillies in his first rehab appearance.

"He only threw nine pitches but felt fine and was throwing 92-93 [m.p.h.]," general manager Ruben Amaro said. Manship is scheduled to throw 1-2 innings Monday and it sounds like he could be activated from the DL later this week.
Jul 6 - 9:42 AM

Phillies placed RHP Jeff Manship on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right quad.

Manship tweaked his right quad while trying to beat out an infield single during Saturday's game. The righty threw four perfect relief innings Saturday before exiting but has just a 5.89 ERA over 16 appearances this season.
Jun 1 - 10:14 AM

Phillies purchased the contract of RHP Jeff Manship from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Manship, a non-roster invitee, put up a 1.80 ERA and 16/2 K/BB ratio over 20 frames this spring. He'll likely function as a long reliever to begin the year.
Mar 29 - 11:45 AM

Jeff Manship picked up his first win of the spring after allowing one run in five innings against the Astros on Thursday.

Manship and David Buchanan both got starts in split-squad games today as they battle for the fifth spot in Philadelphia's rotation. Manship ended the day with the better line, though Buchanan had the tougher assignment versus the Blue Jays. Neither is any sort of ideal option for the Phillies while Cole Hamels is out, but Buchanan seems like the better choice.
Mar 20 - 4:57 PM

Jeff Manship allowed two runs and six hits over four innings Friday against the Pirates.

Manship is one of the candidates to open the season in the Phillies' rotation with Cole Hamels out. He'd be a pretty awful bet as a starter, but he has succeeded this spring, posting a 2.45 ERA and a 9/1 K/BB ratio in 11 innings.
Mar 14 - 4:25 PM

Phillies signed RHP Jeff Manship to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Manship posted a 7.04 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 18/12 K/BB ratio over 30 2/3 innings for the Rockies this past season. He'll attempt to win a middle relief spot in spring training.

The 28-year-old right-hander pitched brutally in 11 appearances (four starts) for the Rockies in 2013, compiling a 7.04 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 18/12 K/BB ratio over 30 2/3 innings. He'll likely have to settle for a minor league deal with a spring training invite.

The Rockies are in the process of clearing spots on the 40-man roster in order to make room for prospects. Manship had an ugly 7.04 ERA and 18/12 K/BB ratio in 30 2/3 innings over four starts and seven relief appearances this season.

With Tyler Chatwood (elbow) in line to return Sunday, Manship is no longer needed. Jorge De La Rosa will get the ball on regular rest Friday in Manship's place.

Jeff Manship delivered a rare quality start in Saturday’s loss to the Marlins, allowing three runs on four hits over his six innings of work.

Manship also walked a pair while striking out four in the ballgame. All of the damage against him came on a three-run uprising in the fourth inning. He’ll carry an 0-4 record, 6.86 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 12/8 into Friday’s matchup against the Reds. He shouldn’t be started in any mixed leagues, especially at Coors Field.

Jeff Manship yielded two earned runs in five innings Thursday in the Rockies' loss to the Mets.

Manship pitched fairly well and Colorado's bullpen was even better, but the Rockies offense managed only one run. Manship will likely be sent back to Triple-A.
