Matt Dominguez went 2-for-4 and hit a three-run homer off Jeremy Guthrie as the Astros topped the Royals 6-5 on Monday.
Dominguez has four homers in 10 days after going his first 33 games without one. Unfortunately, that is all he's done in the 10 days; he has just two other hits and no walks besides the homers, and his average has dipped to .239. Still, it's a whole lot better than no homers. May 20 - 11:50 PM

Matt Dominguez homered twice but the Astros fell to the Rangers on Saturday night in Houston.

It was a rare offensive outburst from the 23-year-old third baseman, who entered the game with only five home runs in 290 career major league plate appearances. Known mostly for his glove, he's not a good fantasy option.

Matt Dominguez collected three RBI on Thursday, but he also committed three errors in the loss to the Angels.

Dominguez had just one error in 31 games before his disastrous night in the field. He did his best to make up for it with the bat, but given that he's just not much of a hitter -- he's batting .265 with no homers and five walks in 118 at-bats -- he can't afford to struggle with the glove.
May 10 - 12:19 AM

Matt Dominguez went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts against the Tigers on Thursday.

Dominguez's average has dipped to .238, and he still doesn't have a homer in 101 at-bats this season. Last year, he kind of shocked everyone by hitting five long balls in 109 at-bats after joining the Astros. Dominguez is an excellent defender at third base, but he's going to have to show some power to stick as a long-term regular.
May 3 - 1:11 AM

Matt Dominguez (elbow) went 2-for-4 with a double in his return to action Tuesday.

Dominguez sat out Monday's game after he was hit in the elbow with a pitch on Sunday, but it shouldn't be an issue moving forward. The 23-year-old is hitting .246 (16-for-65) with four doubles and five RBI in 18 games this season.
Apr 24 - 11:07 AM

An X-ray on Matt Dominguez's left elbow came back negative.

Dominguez was hit on the elbow by a pitch on Sunday. He's sitting out Monday but could be back in the lineup on Tuesday.
Apr 22 - 7:40 PM

Matt Dominguez (elbow) is out of Monday's lineup against the Mariners.

Dominguez is sitting this one out after he left Sunday's game when he was hit in the elbow with a pitch. He'll go for precautionary X-rays, but could return as soon as Tuesday. Consider him day-to-day.
Apr 22 - 4:51 PM

Matt Dominguez homered, doubled and walked Tuesday against the Rays.

Dominguez is penciled in as the Astros' everyday third baseman after a surprisingly successful finish last year. He has little fantasy upside, especially since he'll be hitting low in one of baseball's worst lineups, but he has enough pop to produce $4-$6 worth of value in AL-only leagues.
Feb 26 - 3:56 PM

Matt Dominguez went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Friday's game against the Brewers.

Dominguez missed three games with a viral illness, but it shouldn't be an issue moving forward. He'll return to a starting role over Brandon Laird at third base.

Matt Dominguez was scratched from Monday's lineup with a stomach virus.

Brandon Laird took his spot at third base. Dominguez is listed as day-to-day.

Matt Dominguez blasted a three-run homer, powering the Astros to a 6-4 victory over the Phillies on Thursday.

He finished the evening 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and three RBI. His three-run shot off Tyler Cloyd got the Astros on the board in the fourth inning, and he later walked and scored a run as part of a three-run uprising in the eighth inning. He’s done a very nice job in his limited at-bats to this point, hitting .283 (15-for-53) with four homers and 10 RBI.

Matt Dominguez swatted a three-run homer off Aroldis Chapman in the ninth inning on Friday, delivering the Astros a come-from-behind 5-3 victory over the Reds.

Dominguez finished the night 2-for-3 with a run scored and three RBI. He didn't enter the game until the third inning when Jose Altuve departed with an injury, but wound up being the hero. He's now hitting .344 with two homers and four RBI through his first 32 at-bats on the season.

Matt Dominguez is out of the Astros' lineup Wednesday against the Pirates because of a sore wrist.

Scott Moore will start at third base. Dominguez should be ready to return to action after a couple days of rest.

Matt Dominguez had a nice night at the dish in Thursday’s loss to the Giants, going 3-for-4 and finishing a home run shy of the cycle.

Dominguez came over from the Marlins in the Carlos Lee deal, and was recalled from Triple-A prior to Thursday's contest. He doesn't offer much in terms of power or speed, making him a tough start in most fantasy formats, especially at third base. Still just 23 years old, there could be offensive upside here in the future, but he's unlikely to contribute much more this season.

Astros recalled 3B Matt Dominguez from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Houston acquired Dominguez from the Marlins in last month's Carlos Lee trade. The 23-year-old is excellent defensively but doesn't hit enough to carry fantasy value.
