Indians sent INF Jared Goedert outright to Triple-A Columbus.

The Tribe designated Goedert for assignment last week after watching him bat .199/.261/.331 across 166 plate appearances at the Triple-A level. The 26-year-old will continue functioning as organizational infield depth.

Indians activated INF Jared Goedert from the 60-day disabled list; optioned him to Triple-A Columbus.

Goedert spent most of May on a rehab assignment at Double-A Akron and has now been cleared to return to his post with the Columbus Clippers. The 26-year-old could be called to the majors later this season.

Goedert is on the 60-day disabled list with an oblique injury that crept up on him during spring training. The 25-year-old is probably two weeks from full health.

Some more creative housekeeping opens up another spot on the Indians' 40-man roster. Goedert, 25, has been battling a strained right oblique for most of the Cactus League schedule.

Indians prospect Jared Goedert will miss the next two weeks due to a strained right oblique.

Goedert suffered the injury to his right side this weekend in Indians camp. He climbed to Triple-A in the middle of last season and was added to the Tribe's 40-man roster in November. Look for him to see playing time in the major leagues at some point this year.

Indians purchased the contract of 2B Jared Goedert from Triple-A Columbus.

Goedert, 25, turned in a solid 890 OPS and 27 home runs in 481 at-bats this year between Double-A and Triple-A. He should be able to climb his way to the majors in 2011 as a utility middle infielder.

Jared Goedert hit his 16th homer and drove in six runs Friday for low Single-A Lake County.

Quite a 22nd birthday. Goedert is batting .359/.477/.731 in 156 at-bats. His big game yesterday came in a rare start at second base, but he typically plays third base. The Indians believe he has a chance to become a regular at the hot corner.

Indians prospect Jared Goedert hit his 12th and 13th homers for low Single-A Lake County on Wednesday.

The 21-year-old Goedert has taken over as the minor leagues' home run leader. He's batting .380/.508/.830 in 100 at-bats this year after hitting just three homers in 238 at-bats in short-season ball last season. It's too early to label him a fantasy prospect, but if he can stay at third base, he might have a future.
