Cousins lasted just two weeks with the Blue Jays after being claimed off waivers from the Marlins. He hit a paltry .163/.200/.267 with one home run in 92 at-bats with the Marlins in 2012 and will look to compete for a reserve outfielder role with the Mariners in spring training.

With Justin Ruggiano leaving Friday's contest with an injured shoulder, this seems like a necessary depth move. Cousins struggled mightily in his time with the big club this season, hitting just .167/.188/.282 with a homer and three RBI in 78 at-bats.

Making his first start since being called up, Scott Cousins tripled in the go-ahead run in the top of the 15th as the Marlins edged the Rays 4-3 on Saturday.

It was Cousins' third hit in seven at-bats on the night. That will probably be good enough to earn him another start tomorrow as the Marlins try to figure out their center field situation.
