Michael Bourn (hamstring) will increase his rehab workload over the next week.
Bourn has been sidelined since July 5 with a left hamstring strain but only recently was allowed to ride a stationary bike. The Indians are taking it slowly with him, as there remains no timetable for his return. "I've kind of on purpose not gone in to push him," manager Terry Francona said. "He's going to obviously add intensity as he continues to feel better. ... He will just continue to ramp up. And when he's ready to play, we'll send him out to play." Jul 29 - 8:41 PM

Indians manager Terry Francona said Thursday that there remains no timetable for Michael Bourn's (hamstring) return.

"When he's ready to play, he's ready to play," Francona said. Bourn played catch in the outfield on Thursday but has yet to test out his strained left hamstring with any running. He's already missed nearly three weeks, so it sounds like he'll be lucky to make it back within the projected 3-4 week timetable that was offered when he went down.
Jul 25 - 9:19 AM

Michael Bourn (hamstring) is expected to miss 3-4 weeks.

An MRI taken Sunday revealed that Bourn has a moderate left hamstring strain. It's the same tendon that he had surgery on last season and that cost him time earlier this season. The Indians acquired outfielder Chris Dickerson via trade from the Pirates on Monday.
Jul 7 - 2:49 PM

Indians placed OF Michael Bourn on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring.

Bourn exited Saturday's game with the ailment. It's the same hamstring that he had surgery on last year and that has given him issues a couple times this season. He'll undergo an MRI Sunday to determine the extent of the damage. Tyler Holt has taken Bourn's spot on the roster.
Jul 6 - 10:47 AM

Michael Bourn (hamstring) is not in the Indians' lineup Sunday.

Bourn exited Saturday's game with left hamstring tightness. It's the same hamstring that he had surgery on last year and that has given him issues a couple times this season. At this point, it's unclear if the Indians might be considering placing the outfielder on the disabled list.
Jul 6 - 10:10 AM

Michael Bourn left Saturday's game against the Royals with left hamstring tightness.

Bourn was injured after scoring on Michael Brantley's single in the eighth inning. He was 1-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored before departing. The speedy center fielder may be given the day off on Sunday.
Jul 5 - 10:32 PM

Michael Bourn went 3-for-4 with a pair of triples, a walk and two runs scored in Wednesday's win over Arizona.

Bourn came around to score the first and third runs of the 6-1 triumph. The veteran outfielder is enjoying a five-game hitting streak and has hit safely in seven of eight. Bourn is batting only .271 with a disappointing six steals in 58 games, but his bat has shown signs of life recently. More time on base will obviously lead to more steals; the wheels are still there as evidence by Bourn ranking fourth in the majors with seven triples.
Jun 26 - 12:48 AM

Michael Bourn went 2-for-4 with a two-run double in Tuesday's win over the Red Sox.

Bourn's seventh-inning two-run double broke a 3-3 tie and proved to be the game-winning hit. The outfielder has turned it on lately, hitting safely in 16 of his last 17 games. Bourn has the slash line up to .299/.344/.431 along with five stolen bases.
Jun 3 - 10:47 PM

Michael Bourn followed up Sunday's walkoff homer by going 2-for-3 with a triple, a walk, a steal and two runs scored on Monday.

That's good news. In the past, Bourn has occasionally followed up his homers by trying to yank every pitch out of the part for a week or two. Maybe he's outgrown that tendency, though. He's hitting .294 this year, though without the steals (just five in 38 games) to give him oodles of fantasy value.
Jun 2 - 9:48 PM

Michael Bourn went 2-for-5 with an RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base in Tuesday's win over the Tigers.

Bourn knocked in a run with a second-inning double, stole third base, and later scored. The center fielder has now hit safely in 11 of 13 May games. However, Bourn has a disappointing .254/.289/.386 slash line with three stolen bases.
May 20 - 10:53 PM

Michael Bourn hit his first homer of the year and walked twice Sunday against the A's.

We're more impressed by the two walks; he entered the day with just four in 100 at-bats, leaving him with a poor .276 OBP. The Indians need more from him in order to set up the rest of their lineup.
May 18 - 4:55 PM

Michael Bourn went 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jays.

Bourn, who had been dealing with hamstring tightness, logged his first multi-hit game since April 27 and walked for the first time since April 25. Bourn has been slow since coming off of the disabled list in mid-April, currently the owner of a meager .256/.287/.354 slash line. He has stolen only two bases in five attempts as well.
May 13 - 9:50 PM

Michael Bourn (hamstring) is back in the Indians' starting lineup Thursday afternoon against the Twins.

Bourn missed a handful of games with soreness in his surgically-repaired left hamstring. The Indians will monitor the outfielder closely in Thursday's game. He is batting leadoff and starting in center field.
May 8 - 9:41 AM

Michael Bourn (hamstring) remained out of the Indians' lineup Wednesday.

Bourn was seen testing out his left hamstring again prior to the game, but he's still not well enough to return to the lineup. The Indians are confident that it's merely a day-to-day issue with the outfielder. Nyjer Morgan is in center field again Wednesday.
May 7 - 3:39 PM

Michael Bourn (hamstring) said Tuesday that he feels good and hopes to return to the lineup in the next few days.

Bourn left Saturday's game with tightness in his left hamstring, but he's confident that it's only scar tissue breaking up. At the very least, it looks like he'll avoid a stint on the disabled list for now.
