Michael Bourn went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and three RBI in Saturday's loss to the Rockies.
Bourn muscled up for his second home run of the season in the seventh inning. He's cooled after his torrid May, as the 33-year-old is now batting .250/.309/.357 with 15 RBI and 15 runs scored in 35 games overall. Jun 25 - 10:32 PM

Date:

Michael Bourn is not in Monday's lineup versus the Dodgers.

David Peralta will make the start in center field and will be flanked by Peter O'Brien in left field and Yasmany Tomas in right. It's hardly the strongest defensive unit behind Zack Greinke.

Michael Bourn went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Friday’s victory over the Cardinals.

Bourn, who joined the Diamondbacks last week, drove in a run with a double in the fifth inning before adding an RBI single in a five-run eighth. He has started a pair of games in center field while hitting out of the No. 2 spot in the order. We’re not expecting much here, but Bourn swiped 17 games in 141 games last season and could carve out some value in deeper fantasy formats for those desperate for speed.

Michael Bourn is starting in center field and batting second Monday against the Yankees.

Bourn was called up from Double-A on Sunday after David Peralta hit the disabled list and he should get an extended opportunity in center field. The 33-year-old batted just .238/.310/.282 between the Indians and Braves last season, but he could be an interesting target in deeper fantasy leagues for those in need of a speed boost. He finds himself in a good lineup and in a hitter-friendly home ballpark.

Diamondbacks purchased the contract of OF Michael Bourn from Double-A Mobile.

It's been a patchwork operation for the D'Backs in center field since A.J. Pollock (elbow) went down, and it seemed like only a matter of time that Bourn would be promoted after he was inked to a minor league deal last week. The veteran outfielder has hit .281/.344/.368 with two steals in 64 plate appearances in the minors. Bourn has hit only .253/.313/.336 in the majors the last three seasons, but he should see starts in center field and is worth a look in deeper fantasy leagues.
May 15 - 1:17 PM

Diamondbacks signed OF Michael Bourn to a minor league contract; assigned him to Double-A Mobile.

Bourn was just given his release by the Blue Jays on Monday and it didn't take him long to find a new home. The 33-year-old is headed to the minor leagues for now, but given the questions in center field for the Diamondbacks, it would be no surprise if he eventually finds his way on the major league roster. We just don't have high hopes here.
May 10 - 3:17 PM

Blue Jays released OF Michael Bourn.

Bourn had been hitting the ball pretty well for the Blue Jays' affiliate in the High-A Florida State League and will now try to turn that hot start into a better opportunity with a different organization. It's not clear whether he has a new deal already lined up. Bourn, 33, batted .238/.310/.282 with 17 stolen bases in 141 games last season between the Indians and Braves.
May 9 - 11:19 AM

Blue Jays signed OF Michael Bourn to a minor league contract.

The Diamondbacks recently decided to pass on signing the veteran outfielder, but Bourn has managed to latch on elsewhere. Bourn will likely need an injury or two before he'd get a chance at regular playing time with the Blue Jays, which is certainly possible with the injury-prone Michael Saunders manning left field. The 33-year-old is hitting just .253/.313/.336 since the beginning of the 2013 season.
Apr 22 - 10:46 AM

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Diamondbacks are "passing" on Michael Bourn, "at least for the moment."

The D'Backs were mulling over signing the veteran outfielder in the wake of the A.J. Pollock (elbow) injury, but ultimately they've decided they're better off sticking with Socrates Brito and Chris Owings in center field. Bourn will eventually catch on somewhere, but it's probably unlikely that he'll find a starting job.
Apr 15 - 2:38 PM

Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports the Diamondbacks are considering free agent Michael Bourn.

The Braves released him on Wednesday. The Diamondbacks are looking for outfield help with A.J. Pollock (elbow) out indefinitely. Socrates Brito and Chris Owings have been filling in at center field but neither has had much success. Bourn just got cut from an 0-9 team so he's probably not the difference maker the Diamondbacks are searching for.
Apr 14 - 7:36 PM

Braves released OF Michael Bourn.

Bourn was designated for assignment just before the start of the 2016 season. He had been set to make $14 million, a huge number for a 33-year-old outfielder who has seen his production fall off a cliff of late. Last season, he hit just .238/.310/.282 in 425 at-bats between the Indians and Braves. Even if Bourn does find a new home, there is no fantasy appeal here.
Apr 13 - 11:49 PM

Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports that the Diamondbacks could have interest in Michael Bourn or Will Venable if they decide to look outside their organization.

As of now, it appears as though they'll fill their massive hole in center field in the wake of A.J. Pollock's injury with Socrates Brito and Chris Owings. Brito is much more appealing from a fantasy perspective than Bourn or Venable would be.
Apr 3 - 6:57 PM

Braves designated OF Michael Bourn for assignment.

The Braves had been attempting to shop the overpaid outfielder elsewhere rather than having the $14 million man sit on the bench. They opted to simply eat the money give the extra outfield spot to Drew Stubbs. Bourn shouldn't attract interest on waivers as no one wants to pay his massive price tag.
Apr 2 - 9:48 AM

Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports that the Braves are attempting to deal either Michael Bourn or Nick Swisher.

The projected starting outfield for the Braves consists of Hector Olivera, Ender Inciarte and Nick Markakis, forcing both overpaid veterans into reserve roles. The rebuilding Braves would certainly like to move one of them, or both, prior to the season and they understand that they'll have to eat a significant portion of their salaries to do so.

Jan 3 - 9:28 PM

Michael Bourn had four hits, two RBI, and two runs scored as the Braves topped the Phillies 8-1 on Wednesday.

Bourn added insult to injury, ripping a two-run triple in the eighth inning to push the Braves' lead to 8-1. He had singled and scored in the fourth and seventh innings as well. The performance is the outfielder's first multi-hit game since August 19. Bourn was batting just .138 (9-for-65) since joining the Braves in early August.
