Blue Jays signed OF Michael Bourn to a minor league contract.
The Diamondbacks recently decided to pass on signing the veteran outfielder, but Bourn has managed to latch on elsewhere. Bourn will likely need an injury or two before he'd get a chance at regular playing time with the Blue Jays, which is certainly possible with the injury-prone Michael Saunders manning left field. The 33-year-old is hitting just .253/.313/.336 since the beginning of the 2013 season. Apr 22 - 10:46 AM

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Diamondbacks are "passing" on Michael Bourn, "at least for the moment."

The D'Backs were mulling over signing the veteran outfielder in the wake of the A.J. Pollock (elbow) injury, but ultimately they've decided they're better off sticking with Socrates Brito and Chris Owings in center field. Bourn will eventually catch on somewhere, but it's probably unlikely that he'll find a starting job.

Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports the Diamondbacks are considering free agent Michael Bourn.

The Braves released him on Wednesday. The Diamondbacks are looking for outfield help with A.J. Pollock (elbow) out indefinitely. Socrates Brito and Chris Owings have been filling in at center field but neither has had much success. Bourn just got cut from an 0-9 team so he's probably not the difference maker the Diamondbacks are searching for.

Braves released OF Michael Bourn.

Bourn was designated for assignment just before the start of the 2016 season. He had been set to make $14 million, a huge number for a 33-year-old outfielder who has seen his production fall off a cliff of late. Last season, he hit just .238/.310/.282 in 425 at-bats between the Indians and Braves. Even if Bourn does find a new home, there is no fantasy appeal here.
Apr 13 - 11:49 PM

Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports that the Diamondbacks could have interest in Michael Bourn or Will Venable if they decide to look outside their organization.

As of now, it appears as though they'll fill their massive hole in center field in the wake of A.J. Pollock's injury with Socrates Brito and Chris Owings. Brito is much more appealing from a fantasy perspective than Bourn or Venable would be.
Apr 3 - 6:57 PM

Braves designated OF Michael Bourn for assignment.

The Braves had been attempting to shop the overpaid outfielder elsewhere rather than having the $14 million man sit on the bench. They opted to simply eat the money give the extra outfield spot to Drew Stubbs. Bourn shouldn't attract interest on waivers as no one wants to pay his massive price tag.
Apr 2 - 9:48 AM

Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports that the Braves are attempting to deal either Michael Bourn or Nick Swisher.

The projected starting outfield for the Braves consists of Hector Olivera, Ender Inciarte and Nick Markakis, forcing both overpaid veterans into reserve roles. The rebuilding Braves would certainly like to move one of them, or both, prior to the season and they understand that they'll have to eat a significant portion of their salaries to do so.

Michael Bourn had four hits, two RBI, and two runs scored as the Braves topped the Phillies 8-1 on Wednesday.

Bourn added insult to injury, ripping a two-run triple in the eighth inning to push the Braves' lead to 8-1. He had singled and scored in the fourth and seventh innings as well. The performance is the outfielder's first multi-hit game since August 19. Bourn was batting just .138 (9-for-65) since joining the Braves in early August.

Michael Bourn will hit leadoff for the Braves Saturday against the Marlins.

Bourn was traded from Cleveland Friday along with Nick Swisher. The 32-year-old has given fantasy owners almost nothing this year with a .246 average and only 13 stolen bases. Maybe a change of scenery will do him some good.

Braves acquired OFs Michael Bourn and Nick Swisher and cash considerations from the Indians in exchange for 3B Chris Johnson.

Bourn has been a disaster in Cleveland, hitting just .257/.315/.345 over three seasons. He returns to Atlanta, where he had his last good season in 2012 with a .274/.348/.391 batting line. With Cameron Maybin handling center field, Bourn is in line for spot duty with the Braves, spelling Maybin in center and also likely playing some in left.

Michael Bourn went 2-for-3 with three RBI in Friday's win over the Pirates.

Bourn doubled in a run in the fourth inning, then punched in two more with a single in the eighth to give his team a three run lead and some much needed breathing room. They would ultimately win 5-2. While he does have five hits in his last 11 at-bats, Bourn is still hitting just .234/.305/.284 for the year. He only has 10 extra-base hits and has yet to connect on his first home run.

Michael Bourn will serve his one-game suspension Thursday.

Bourn was handed the one-game sentence last week for bumping home plate umpire Phil Cuzzi during an argument. Michael Brantley is starting in center field and Mike Aviles is in left field Thursday versus the Rays.

Michael Bourn went 2-for-4 with a stolen base against the Rays on Tuesday.

Bourn was the only player on either team with multiple hits in the game. The steal was his sixth of the year and first since June 4. A brutal month of June has lowered Bourn's average to .228 with a .298 on-base percentage overall.

Michael Bourn had his hearing Friday to appeal his one game suspension for bumping home plate umpire Phil Cuzzi in Tuesday's game.

A decision will be made some time between now and July 10 on whether the ban is upheld. Either way, the Indians are likely to have him serve on a day that he would've had off anyways, so there aren't any major fantasy implications here.

MLB suspended Michael Bourn one game and fined him an undisclosed amount for bumping home plate umpire Phil Cuzzi on Tuesday.

Bourn was ejected from Tuesday's game after arguing balls and strikes and made contact with Cuzzi during the incident. He has appealed the suspension and will play Thursday.
