Chris Gimenez went 2-for-4 with an RBI single and a run scored against the Twins on Tuesday.

Gimenez had two singles, giving him nine hits in 21 at-bats since he was promoted. With Geovany Soto still sidelined and Robinson Chirinos struggling at the plate, Gimenez could see more playing time in the near future. Catcher-needy owners in AL-only leagues, take note.

Chris Gimenez went 4-for-5 with an RBI against the Tigers on Thursday.

That's more hits than J.P. Arencibia had in the first 7 1/2 weeks of the season. Well, almost. Gimenez was making his second straight start, so it looks like he'll probably play more than Robinson Chirinos until Geovany Soto returns. That gives him value in AL-only leagues.

Rangers purchased the contract of C Chris Gimenez from Triple-A Round Rock.

Gimenez was hitting .259/.352/.435 with four home runs and 16 RBI in 31 games this season at the Triple-A level. He will share time at catcher with Robinson Chirinos until Geovany Soto (knee) is ready to return.

While it may have been in his best interest to remain in the Rangers organization with their bleak catching situation, he could generate some interest on the open market. He won't be relevant in fantasy leagues unless he works his way into a platoon situation somewhere though.
