He's now off the 40-man roster. Narveson held a 4.45 ERA across 30 1/3 frames for the Marlins this season.

Chris Narveson allowed two earned runs in 1 1/3 innings as the Marlins fell to the Mets on Sunday.

Narveson was pitching in relief for the Fish after leaving his previous start (on August 31) with a blister on his left middle finger. The veteran southpaw holds a rough 5.73 ERA in 22 innings this season at the major league level. He might not get another start the rest of the way.

Chris Narveson left Monday's start versus the Braves due to a blister on his left middle finger.

It's too bad, as Narveson was pitching well with 5 1/3 scoreless frames. He'll be re-evaluated later this week before it's determined whether he can make his next start.

Chris Narveson was hit hard in a losing effort against the Pirates on Wednesday, serving up seven runs across 3 2/3 innings.

The Pirates exploded for seven runs in the second inning, capped off by Andrew McCutchen's three-run home run which made it 7-1. Narveson, overall, allowed eight hits and three walks while striking out three. It was his first start since April 15, 2012. The Marlins haven't announced if he'll get another start, but if he does, he's on track to face the Braves in Atlanta.

Marlins purchased the contract of LHP Chris Narveson from Triple-A New Orleans.

Narveson has posted a 5.19 ERA over 26 innings with New Orleans this season. He'll be used in long relief.

Chris Narveson has a left elbow sprain.

Narveson, who was reassigned to minor league camp Wednesday, will be shut down for about a week and might get off to a late start this season. The 33-year-old left-hander will presumably be sent to Triple-A New Orleans whenever he gets healthy.

Marlins reassigned LHP Chris Narveson to minor league camp.

After spending the 2014 season in Japan, Narveson allowed one run in four innings across two appearances this spring, but it wasn't enough to get a long look to make the Opening Day roster. The southpaw could hang around as minor league depth.

Chris Narveson, back from Japan, struck out the side in his inning versus the University of Miami on Tuesday.

Narveson, who won 23 games for the Brewers between 2009 and 2010, is going to try to make the Marlins as a reliever after going 4-11 with a 4.53 ERA in 24 starts for the Yakult Swallows last season.

Marlins signed LHP Chris Narveson to a minor league contract.

Narveson last pitched in the majors in 2013, spending this past season with Yakult of Japan's Central League. The southpaw had a 4.53 ERA in 24 starts with Yakult.

Chris Narveson has signed with the Tokyo Yakult Swallows of Japan's Central League.

Narveson, 32, has been limited to just four appearances in the majors over the past two seasons due to shoulder issues. He'll attempt to get his career back on track in Japan.

Chris Narveson has elected free agency.

Not unexpected, as Narveson was a logical non-tender candidate this offseason. The 31-year-old southpaw was limited to just two appearances with the Brewers this season due to shoulder issues.

Chris Narveson's season is likely over due to a nerve issue near his throwing shoulder.

Narveson missed most of last season after undergoing surgery for a torn labrum and rotator cuff. The left-hander is arbitration-eligible for a second time this winter but is a non-tender candidate.

Chris Narveson is expected to be called up to start on Wednesday in place of the injured Tom Gorzelanny (elbow).

Gorzelanny had to leave his last outing after being struck on the pitching elbow by a line drive. He hasn't been placed on the DL at this point, but the Brewers will need someone to fill in for him Wednesday, and it appears that Narveson is the choice. Narveson has pitched better at Triple-A Nashville of late, tossing seven shutout innings in his last outing. He'll need to be added to the 40-man roster.

Brewers activated LHP Chris Narveson from the 15-day disabled list, sent him outright to Triple-A Nashville.

Narveson would be in the Brewers' rotation by now if he was pitching better, but he's put up a 7.00 ERA over five rehab starts with Nashville. He still seems likely to get a chance eventually, but he obviously needs to pick it up.
