Andrew Romine is dealing with a shoulder subluxation and isn't expected to miss much time.
Romine has had the injury before, and he didn't miss significant time when he dealt with it while a member of the Detroit organization. The Mariners plan to rest the 32-year-old utility player, and he'll then be reevaluated. He's currently battling for a spot on the Seattle bench. Mar 14 - 4:06 PM

Mariners manager Scott Servais said he thinks Andrew Romine may have suffered a shoulder injury on Tuesday.

Romine was removed from Tuesday's Cactus League game against the Rockies after an awkward tag attempt at third base in the bottom of the ninth inning. He'll probably be run through some tests before the Mariners offer an exact diagnosis. The versatile 32-year-old avoided arbitration with Seattle in December by agreeing to a one-year, $1.05 million contract.

Andrew Romine was removed from Tuesday's Cactus League against the Rockies with an apparent injury.

Romine fell awkwardly after a tag attempt at third base in the bottom of the ninth inning. There should be an update on his status once the game concludes. Seattle claimed the versatile 32-year-old off waivers from the Tigers in November.

Mariners and OF Andrew Romine avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $1.05 million contract.

The 31-year-old was claimed off waivers by the Mariners after the season was over. He hit .233/.289/.336 with four homers, 25 RBI and 45 runs in 124 games with the Tigers in 2017. He played every position on the field this year, including pitcher and catcher.

Mariners claimed INF/OF Andrew Romine off waivers from the Tigers.

Romine was outrighted off the Tigers' 40-man roster on Thursday morning. The 31-year-old super-utilityman had a rough .233/.289/.336 batting line in 348 plate appearances this season with Detroit, though he did play all nine positions in a game on September 30.

Andrew Romine went 2-for-3 as the Tigers were shut out by the Indians in the second half of Friday's doubleheader.

It was an ugly day in Motown as the Tigers were swept in the day-night twin bill. They tallied just seven hits as a group in the second game, with Romine accounting for two of them. The veteran utility man is hitting .243/.304/.369 with four homers and 21 RBI on the season.

Andrew Romine came to the plate with a total of eight men on base and went 0-for-4 in Sunday's loss to the Twins.

The Tigers just love finding at-bats for Romine, but here he is in mid-August with a .223/.290/.330 line that is basically a match for his career output. He has 258 plate appearances in his utility role, while Dixon Machado, a younger player with some hope of being useful someday, has just 105 in his, even though he's hitting .302/.337/.365 in his limited opportunities. Even if the Tigers do still believe that the 31-year-old Romine is the better option for some reason, one would think they'd be better off giving the 25-year-old Machado his playing time.

Andrew Romine went 2-for-2 and scored a run as his team got blown out by the Royals on Wednesday.

He didn't start the game but came on to pinch-hit for Miguel Cabrera in the seventh inning with the score already 13-1. He reached on an infield single in that at-bat and later scored on a double-play ball hit by Alex Avila. Romine singled again in the ninth inning but was left stranded. The utility infielder has gotten quite a bit of playing time for a backup, slashing .228/.293/.355 with four home runs, 18 RBI and 33 runs in 217 plate appearances.

Andrew Romine swatted his fourth home run of the season as the Tigers were crushed by the Blue Jays on Friday.

Romine's solo shot in the ninth inning merely put a band aid on a stab wound, trimming their deficit to 7-2. He also doubled, finishing the night 2-for-4. The utility man is hitting .232/.298/.370 on the season and shouldn't even be considered as an option in most fantasy leagues.

Andrew Romine went 2-for-4 with an RBI triple in Sunday's loss to the White Sox.

Romine picked up an RBI triple against Miguel Gonzalez in the eighth inning. It was his second three-bagger of the season and bumped his RBI total to 12. While he has turned in multi-hit performances in two of his last three games, he is still hitting an uninspiring .238/.316/.369 over the course of 122 at-bats.

Andrew Romine went 2-for-4 and worked a walk during the first game of Saturday's doubleheader versus the White Sox.

His two singles represented half the hits his club could manage in the ballgame, so it is no surprise they failed to score. The veteran utility man has played every position except pitcher and catcher for the Tigers this year. He has a .228 batting average with two home runs, 18 runs scored and 11 RBI in 129 plate appearances.

Andrew Romine went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Thursday's win over the Angels.

Romine connected for a two-run blast off J.C. Ramirez in the second inning. The dinger was his second of the season. In addition, the 31-year-old utility option is hitting .244/.311/.415 over the course of 82 at-bats.

Andrew Romine slugged his first career grand slam in the Tigers' 5-3 win over the Twins on Wednesday.

The four-run shot in the bottom of the fourth inning put Detroit on top for good. Romine now has six hits in 11 at-bats this season, and four of the extra-base variety, but we wouldn't expect the good times to last. The 31-year-old utilityman entered play Wednesday with a .243/.298/.300 career batting line at the major league level.

Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said Tuesday that Andrew Romine getting a chance at the regular center field job has "been discussed."

"We’ve talked about it," Ausmus said. "There are a lot of people in the organization who think he might be our best defensive center fielder – though he hasn’t been out there a ton. It’s been discussed." Just 13 of Romine's 201 career starts in the majors have come in center field. The Tigers aren't really closer now to figuring out who their starter will be there than they were at the beginning of camp, but it seems likely that Romine will remain in a super utility role.

Andrew Romine doubled twice Monday, including once in an eight-run eighth inning, as the Tigers came back to beat the Braves 10-7.

Romine homered Saturday, so he's off to quite the power surge this spring. That's three extra-base hits in seven at-bats for a guy who has never had more than nine in a season as a major leaguer (he has six homers, two triples and 19 doubles in 761 career at-bats).
