Mariners signed LHP Steve Garrison to a minor league contract.

Garrison made his MLB debut this year for the Yankees, but was only allowed to stick around for 2/3 of an inning. The lefty will hope for a better chance in Seattle.

Yankees sent LHP Steve Garrison outright to Double-A Trenton.

Garrison was designated for assignment earlier this week. He appeared in one game earlier this season for the Yankees and held a 5.95 ERA in 17 games -- 16 starts -- with Trenton.

Yankees designated LHP Steve Garrison for assignment.

The move was made in order to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Austin Romine. Garrison, who appeared in one game earlier this season for the Yankees, will likely clear waivers and remain in the organization.

Yankees optioned LHP Steve Garrison to Double-A Trenton.

Garrison retired the only two batters he faced while in the pinstripes. He's been optioned to clear a spot for Rafael Soriano, though the Yankees still need to make room on the 40-man roster.

Yankees recalled LHP Steve Garrison from Double-A Trenton.

The corresponding roster move hasn't been announced yet, though Sergio Mitre is expected to go on the disabled list. Garrison, 24, hasn't enjoyed much luck at the Double-A level this season, posting a bloated 6.26 ERA and 31/12 K/BB ratio over 46 innings.

Yankees claimed LHP Steve Garrison off waivers from the Padres.

Garrison was designated for assignment a couple of days ago by San Diego after posting an 8.87 ERA over five starts for Triple-A Portland. He's probably not going to be a high-impact guy in the Yanks' system.

Padres designated LHP Steve Garrison for assignment.

Garrison was cleared to make room for the Mike Baxter on the 40-man roster. The 23-year-old left-hander got off to a late start this season after undergoing right knee surgery last fall, posting an 8.87 ERA over five starts with Triple-A Portland.

Padres purchased the contracts of LHP Steve Garrison, RHP Craig Italiano and OF Chad Huffman.

Each are now protected from December's Rule 5 draft. Garrison, 23, was one of the three players the Padres received from the Brewers in the Scott Linebrink trade during the 2007 season. That they chose to protect him is a bit of a surprise since he suffered a serious injury to his right knee in the Arizona Fall League that will require surgery. He likely won't begin a throwing program until June of next year. Garrison was 1-2 with a 5.56 ERA in 13 games (12 starts) between three stops in the San Diego organization in 2009.

Steve Garrison is expected to be sidelined through the middle of next season after undergoing rotator cuff surgery.

Garrison is among the Padres' top prospects and the 22-year-old southpaw profiled as a potential mid-rotation starter prior to the injury. He went 7-7 with a 3.82 ERA and 108/37 K/BB ratio in 129 2/3 innings at Double-A this season.

Padres' left-handed pitching prospect Steve Garrison will miss the rest of the season because of a shoulder injury.

"Surgery is possible," said Grady Fuson, director of scouting and development. "He will be looked at again in San Diego first. Looks like a possible labrum (injury)." Garrison, 21, was 7-7 with a 3.82 ERA for Double-A San Antonio this season.

Steve Garrison fanned 11 while allowing one run in seven innings for Double-A San Antonio on Saturday.

Garrison has earned a promotion. The 21-year-old lefty is 5-3 with a 3.09 ERA, 70 H and 65/21 K/BB in 78 2/3 IP in the Texas League. He could be a future fourth or fifth starter for the Padres.

Steve Garrison pitched seven innings of no-hit ball Saturday for Double-A San Antonio.

Garrison wasn't allowed to work into the eighth, even though he was at just 80 pitches. The 21-year-old has a 2.25 ERA in two starts for San Antonio. He was one of the three pitchers picked up from the Brewers last summer for Scott Linebrink, and he projects as a fourth or fifth starter for the Padres.

LHP Steve Garrison was traded from Milwaukee to San Diego in a four-player deal.

The 20-year-old Garrison, a 2005 10th-round pick, was 8-4 with a 3.44 ERA, 105 H and 74/28 K/BB in 104 2/3 IP for Single-A Brevard County. He's not overpowering, but with four pitches, he has the ability to stay in the rotation and perhaps make it as a fourth or fifth starter. The Padres will probably send him to Single-A Lake Elsinore.
