The Twins are planning to recall Tyler Robertson from Triple-A Rochester if Matt Capps is placed on the disabled list, as expected, according to Joe Christensen of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Official word should come on Monday. Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said on his radio show Sunday that Capps' shoulder is "not good" following his appearance Saturday. The closer was held out of Sunday's game. Glen Perkins figures to see the bulk of the save chances while Capps is out, with Jared Burton also in the mix. Robertson has thrived since moving to the bullpen last season, posting a 3.69 ERA, 16 saves and 88/29 K/BB ratio over 89 2/3 innings at the Double-A level in 2011 and a 3.77 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in 33 appearances at Triple-A this year.

Twins purchased the contract of LHP Tyler Robertson from Double-A New Britain.

Robertson thrived with a move to the bullpen this season, posting a 3.69 ERA, 16 saves and 88/29 K/BB ratio over 89 2/3 innings at the Double-A level. The 23-year-old southpaw also induces his fair share of ground balls, so he could find a spot in the Twins' bullpen at some point next season.

Tyler Robertson threw four scoreless innings Friday in his return to the rotation at Single-A Fort Myers.

Robertson pitched a complete game on June 1, then went on the DL right afterwards with shoulder tendinitis. We're guessing he won't be asked to go nine innings again this season.

Tyler Robertson threw seven scoreless innings Tuesday for Single-A Fort Myers.

Robertson has a case as the Twins' top pitching prospect, though that may be a little too aggressive for the moment. He is the best hope of their young lefties. The 20-year-old has a 3.04 ERA and a 49/19 K/BB in 50 1/3 innings for Fort Myers.
