FOX Sports' Jon Morosi reports that the Rays have made Matt Joyce available for trade.
It's not surprising, as the Rays are in cost-cutting mode and Joyce is due another raise in what will be his final year of arbitration. The 30-year-old's OPS has been in a steady decline the last few years, bottoming out in 2014 at .732 when he hit just nine homers. Still, he can be a useful bat and the Rays should be able to find a taker for him. Nov 21 - 3:05 PM

Matt Joyce had a rough night at the plate in Friday's loss to the Red Sox, going 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts.

Joyce, who normally terrorizes right-handed pitching, had a rare off-night in this contest, but did at least manage to draw a walk. He's now slashing .269/.366/.409 with eight homers and 50 RBI on the season.
Aug 29 - 11:06 PM

Matt Joyce hit his eighth homer, walked and scored three times Wednesday against the Rangers.

Joyce has remained an asset in Tampa Bay's lineup while still being pretty irrelevant for fantasy leagues. On the plus side, he's hitting .283 after finishing at .241 in 2012 and .235 last year. However, the homers are down, he's 1-for-5 stealing bases and his 42 runs scored and 47 RBI aren't anything special.
Aug 13 - 11:33 PM

Matt Joyce went 5-for-6 with a double, two home runs, and four RBI in Sunday's win over the Orioles.

A career day for Joyce, who notched five hits in a game for the first time in his career, and blasted two home runs in a game for only the third time. Joyce, who has faced right-handed pitching almost exclusively, is slashing .274/.360/.425 with five home runs and 33 RBI on the season.
Jun 29 - 5:32 PM

Matt Joyce went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored against the Orioles on Tuesday.

Joyce doubled off Orioles starter Miguel Gonzalez and scored in the fifth inning, and he also added a single in the game. Joyce has hits in five straight games to bring his average up to .270, but he's still sitting on three home runs for the year. The 29-year-old is on pace for his lowest home run output of any full season in his career.
Jun 18 - 12:09 AM

Matt Joyce went 1-for-2 with a two-run double and two walks against the Astros on Friday.

Progress? Joyce has three RBI over his last two games after collecting just one RBI over his previous 12 games. Still, the 29-year-old hasn't homered since May 11 and has just three on the year so far. It's tough to have much enthusiasm for him in mixed leagues right now.
Jun 14 - 12:27 AM

Matt Joyce went 3-for-3 with a double before being removed for a pinch-hitter Wednesday against the Marlins.

Joyce had a nice game against a pitch in Tom Koehler who had dominated left-handed hitters this season, but he was pulled when it came time for him to face a lefty. He broke out of an 0-for-16 slump with the performance and pushed his average back up to .273. Unfortunately, his power has been surprisingly absent, with no homers since May 11 and just three all season. It leaves him with very little mixed-league value.
Jun 4 - 10:40 PM

Matt Joyce went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and a run scored in Wednesday's loss to the Blue Jays.

The Rays weren't able to muster much offense against Liam Hendriks and the Jays' bullpen despite Joyce's best efforts. Joyce has been productive for the Rays, slashing .281/.378/.411, facing right-handed pitching in an overwhelming percentage of his 180 plate appearances.
May 28 - 10:37 PM

Matt Joyce went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Sunday's loss to the Indians.

Joyce's home run in the first inning was his third of the season. He also singled in a run in the fourth inning. The outfielder has enjoyed a productive season despite the drop in power, batting .287/.388/.446 in 36 games.
May 11 - 6:59 PM

Matt Joyce drew five walks and had an RBI in Friday's loss to the White Sox.

One of them was with the bases loaded. Joyce is the first American League hitter to draw five unintentional walks in a game since Alex Rodriguez did it with the Mariners in 2000.
Apr 26 - 1:07 AM

Matt Joyce went 2-for-5 with two RBI in a win over the Twins on Tuesday.

Joyce had two of the Rays' 12 hits on the day, and his two-run double in the fourth inning capped the scoring. The runs batted in gave him 10 RBI for the year. He's been hot to start the year, batting .347/.452/.571 while cycling between the outfield and DH.
Apr 22 - 10:15 PM

Matt Joyce belted his second home run of the season, helping to power the Rays to a 2-1 victory over the Reds on Friday.

Joyce, hitting in the third slot in Joe Maddon’s lineup, launched a Johnny Cueto offering over the wall in right to increase the Rays advantage to 2-0 in the third inning. He finished the evening 2-for-3 and is now slashing a scorching .423/.529/.731 with two homers and seven RBI on the young season.
Apr 11 - 10:39 PM

Matt Joyce smacked a two-run homer in the Rays' win over the Rangers on Saturday in Tampa Bay.

The Rays were down 4-1 when Joyce hit his two-run shot in the bottom of the fourth inning. He added a single in the bottom of the seventh and is now 7-for-13 (.538) through five games played on the young season.
Apr 5 - 10:43 PM

Matt Joyce batted leadoff and went 2-for-5 with two runs scored in Wednesday's game.

Rays manager Joe Maddon is nothing if not unpredictable, so it remains to be seen whether Joyce in the leadoff spot is something we could see during the regular season or if it was just a spring experiment. Either way, Joyce made the most of it, bunting for a single and scoring on a sacrifice fly in the first inning before knocking a more traditional single and scoring on a base hit in the fifth. The left-handed hitter is likely to be the Rays' primary designated hitter this season.
Mar 26 - 10:25 PM

Matt Joyce went 2-for-4 and hit a three-run homer off Felix Doubront in the Rays' 9-2 drubbing of the Red Sox on Sunday.

Joyce wouldn't have been starting against the lefty in a regular-season game, but it didn't stop him from having the nice game today. The homer was his second in 40 at-bats this spring.
