Willie Collazo - R - Blue Jays

Mets designated LHP Willie Collazo for assignment.

Collazo, who was up briefly in July but did not pitch, had a 4.05 ERA in 16 starts and 21 relief appearances for Triple-A New Orleans. He's pretty likely to clear waivers, but that would just make him a minor league free agent after the season.

Collazo, 28, made his major league debut last September, giving up four runs in 5 2/3 innings for the Mets. He'll probably only stick until Pedro Martinez is activated.

Willie Collazo allowed two hits over seven scoreless innings Thursday for La Guaira of the VWL.

Collazo has yet to allow a run in 11 innings of work. The 27-year-old southpaw made his major league debut for the Mets in September, giving up four runs in 5 2/3 innings. He'll be a long shot to make the club out of spring training as a middle reliever.

Mets purchased the contract of LHP Willie Collazo from Triple-A New Orleans.

Collazo, 27, will make his major league debut as a reliever after amassing a 2.46 ERA in 98 2/3 innings for New Orleans. It certainly helped his case that he threw 24 scoreless innings during August.

He's feeling good physically, but the right-hander obviously needs to build up his stamina. He'll rejoin the rotation in early June if he can avoid a setback. May 21

	6	Dustin McGowan D.L. Dustin McGowan (shoulder) will continue his minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo. McGowan allowed one hit and one walk over two scoreless innings with High-A Dunedin and notched four strikeouts. The Blue Jays can't count on him given his lengthy injury history, but he could be an option to join the bullpen later this month if all goes well. May 17
	7	Drew Hutchison D.L. Drew Hutchison (elbow) is on track to face live hitters in about three weeks. Hutchison is currently making his way back from Tommy John surgery last August. While the 22-year-old right-hander is unlikely to see any game action until late in the season, he feels good about his progress. "You always want to do more but you know you have to follow the process and do what they tell you to do because that’s what’s in your best interest," said Hutchison. "I feel good, which is good, but you also realize that it’s the process and you need to follow the process." May 8
	8	Kyle Drabek D.L. Kyle Drabek (elbow) expects to throw live batting practice in the next week or two. Drabek threw a bullpen session Monday in extended spring training. He's coming back from the second Tommy John surgery of his career, so the Blue Jays figure to take things slow, but he could be looking at a return around midseason if all goes well. May 8

Santos will be out until after the All-Star break following surgery to remove bone chips and spurs from his right elbow. May 19
	3	Darren Oliver D.L. Blue Jays placed LHP Darren Oliver on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 19. with a left shoulder strain. Oliver has been dealing with the ailment for 7-10 and hadn't appeared in a game in nearly a week. He shouldn't be out long, but the Jays have decided to play things safe. Toronto still has two lefties in the bullpen in Aaron Loup and Brett Cecil. May 24
