Braves sent C Clint Sammons outright to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Sammons managed to pass through waivers successfully. The 27-year-old backstop hasn't made an appearance in the majors this year. He is batting .178/.263/.267 with two home runs and 13 RBI over 135 at-bats with Gwinnett this season.

Braves recalled catcher Clint Sammons from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Sammons will serve as the Braves' third catcher for the final month of the season. In other words, he carries absolutely no fantasy value. The 26-year-old hit just .214/.266/.344 in 299 Triple-A at-bats this season.

Braves recalled catcher Clint Sammons from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Sammons was sent down to Triple-A Gwinnett last week after David Ross returned from the disabled list. He will serve as the primary backup to Ross in Brian McCann's absence. He's not worth fantasy consideration.

Clint Sammons - C - Marlins

Clint Sammons hit a pair of two-run homers off Kyle Kendrick as the Braves beat the Phillies 12-10 on Wednesday.

Sammons is 6-for-13 this spring, but the Braves made it clear that they didn't think he was ready to take over a backup role when they signed David Ross to a two-year deal in the offseason. Sammons was the backup for the final two months of last season and went 8-for-54 with one homer. He'll return to Triple-A for the beginning of this year.

Clint Sammons went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBI as the Braves defeated the Cardinals 9-4 on Thursday night.

Sammons was called up a few days ago to back up Corky Miller in the absence of Brian McCann. He had a big game tonight, as his two-run homer in the sixth inning broke a 4-4 tie and sent the Braves on their way to a comfortable victory, but considering he had a 608 OPS in Triple-A this performance was likely a mirage. Of course, being that Miller is a highly uninspiring option, Sammons could stay in the lineup until McCann returns.

Sammons will back up Corky Miller until Brian McCann is over his concussion. He'll probably return to the minors before the end of the week.

Braves purchased the contract of catcher Clint Sammons from Double-A Mississippi.

A fourth catcher for Atlanta. Sammons hit .249/.317/.364 between Single-A Myrtle Beach and Double-A Mississippi. It's unlikely that he'll have a future as a backup.

Morrison has spent the past week with the High-A Jupiter Hammerheads, collecting three hits and one RBI in 13 at-bats. He's working his way back from September surgery to repair a torn patella tendon in his right knee and is currently aiming to join the Marlins in early June. 	2	Casey Kotchman D.L. Marlins manager Mike Redmond said Casey Kotchman (hamstring) could begin a rehab assignment "in the next few days." Kotchman is finally feeling improvement with his strained left hamstring. He was moved to the 60-day DL last week, though, so he won't be eligible to return until June. May 14
	3	Joe Mahoney D.L. Joe Mahoney (hamstring) is expected to begin playing in rehab games Sunday at Triple-A New Orleans. Mahoney was placed on the disabled list April 28 with a right hamstring strain. He'll beat Logan Morrison (knee) back to the Marlins' active roster but will probably be sent back to Triple-A when LoMo is deemed fully healthy. Mahoney, 26, carries no fantasy value. May 23
2B	1	Donovan Solano D.L. Donovan Solano's strained left intercostal muscle remains sore. There's no timetable for when he'll resume baseball activities, let alone when he'll return from the DL. Derek Dietrich will continue to serve as the primary second baseman for the Marlins. May 14
	2	Chris Valaika D.L. Chris Valaika underwent successful surgery on Friday, having two pins inserted into his wrist. Valaika is expected to require 4-6 weeks of healing time before he's able to return to the Marlins. He had been virtually ineffective in his 22 games before the injury, hitting .219/.261/.344 with one homer and nine RBI. May 10

Stanton has been on the disabled list since April 30 and is still without a timetable. The best guess is that he's activated around mid-June. May 23

	2	Nathan Eovaldi D.L. Nathan Eovaldi (shoulder) will make his first minor league rehab start with High-A Jupiter on Saturday. Eovaldi will be limited to between 60 and 70 pitches in the game. He's been sidelined since the end of spring training with inflammation in his right shoulder. He'll need a few rehab starts to get fully stretched out, but could join the Marlins rotation in early June if all goes well. May 24
	3	Kevin Slowey Sidelined Kevin Slowey left Wednesday's start against the Phillies after the fifth inning with a left lat strain. The Marlins are calling him day-to-day, so it's evidently a minor strain. He will be reevaluated on Thursday before it's determined whether he can make his next start. Slowey was pitching well Wednesday before getting hurt, tossing five innings of one-run ball on six hits and no walks while recording six strikeouts. May 22
