Brewers acquired RHP Burke Badenhop from the Rays for OF Raul Mondesi, Jr.

Badenhop had a 3.03 ERA with the Rays this past season and should fit nicely as a middle reliever for the Brewers. He earned $1.075 million in 2012 and is arbitration-eligible for the third time this winter. Mondesi, Jr. signed as a 17-year-old free agent in 2010 and has yet to advance beyond the rookie-league level.

The Rays and RHP Burke Badenhop avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $1.075 million contract.

Tampa Bay acquired Badenhop this winter for catcher Jacob Jeffries. The 28-year-old groundball specialist will function as a middle reliever this year for the Rays.

Rays acquired RHP Burke Badenhop from the Marlins for C Jacob Jefferies.

Badenhop, 28, posted a 4.10 ERA and 51/24 K/BB ratio over 63 2/3 innings this past season. The ground ball specialist projects to make right around $1 million in his second year of arbitration and should fit nicely as a middle reliever for the Rays.

Burke Badenhop turned in a scoreless 10th inning in a 1-1 game between the Mets and Marlins on Monday evening, but was just getting warmed up, as Marlins manager Edwin Rodriguez elected to let him bat in the top of the 11th inning, where he responded with what would prove to be the game-winning RBI single.

It was a truly bizarre night at Citi Field, with both teams getting key extra-innings hits from pitchers, and Mets manager Terry Collins electing to intentionally walk Chris Coghlan to get to Hanley Ramirez in the ninth inning, among other innings. On the mound, Badenhop has not exactly lit the world ablaze since his May 7 recall, posting a 2.08 WHIP in 4 1/3 innings of work.

Marlins recalled RHP Burke Badenhop from Triple-A New Orleans.

Badenhop pitched very well in spring training but failed to earn a spot on the Opening Day roster. He has not fared well at Triple-A, posting a 6.75 ERA over 11 games, but he's contributed for the Fish over the last two seasons and should be able to fill a middle relief role.

Marlins optioned RHP Burke Badenhop to Triple-A New Orleans.

Badenhop posted a cool 2.19 ERA in 12 1/3 innings this spring, but he failed to secure one of the last few spots in the Marlins' season-opening bullpen. The Fish could look to make a trade, considering how desperate other teams are for quality relievers. Badenhop posted a 3.99 ERA in 67-plus frames last year.

Burke Badenhop pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings out of the pen in the Marlins' 6-5 win over the Cardinals on Saturday.

Badenhop lowered his spring ERA to 2.19. It's down to him and Brian Sanches for the final spot in Florida's bullpen. If they want to make a move, Badenhop would likely have some trade value after posting a 3.99 ERA in 67 2/3 innings last season.

Marlins signed RHP Burke Badenhop to a one-year contract.

Badenhop, 27, turned in a solid 3.99 ERA and 1.23 WHIP over 67 2/3 innings this year for the Fish. He also posted quality numbers on a month-long stint in the minors. He will return to his role in middle relief.

He'll take the place of Chris Volstad on the 25-man roster. Badenhop posted a 6.43 ERA over his first 15 appearances before being sent to the minors on May 27. The 27-year-old right-hander had a 2.81 ERA over 11 relief appearances and one start with the Zephyrs.

Marlins optioned RHP Burke Badenhop to Triple-A New Orleans.

Badenhop looked impressive in April, but posted an awful 10.38 ERA over seven appearances in May. Hopefully some work in the minors will straighten him out.

Burke Badenhop picked up a save with Leo Nunez resting on Wednesday night.

Nunez pitched on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, so there's nothing to see here. Badenhop is not a threat.

Marlins activated RHP Burke Badenhop from the 15-day disabled list.

Badenhop has looked strong in a handful of rehab starts. He'll begin by pitching in long relief, but is also a candidate for the starting rotation. For now, though, the Fish only require a four-man battery.

Burke Badenhop may slide into the Marlins' starting rotation in place of the recently demoted Chris Volstad.

Badenhop tossed 3 1/3 innings for Single-A Jupiter Friday in a rehab start. He has been ready to return physically, but the Marlins were hoping to hold off until the roster expansion on September 1. With the Volstad move, the Marlins may elect to bring him back before then. Another possibility to take the spot is Rick VandenHurk.

Burke Badenhop, on the DL since Aug. 2 with a strained trapezius, pitched 4 2/3 scoreless innings for Single-A Jupiter on Saturday.

Badenhop is ready to return, but the Marlins aren't planning on activating him until the roster expansion. He'll start in the minors again Thursday.
