Nick Hagadone is expected to miss 6-9 months after undergoing season-ending surgery on his fractured elbow on Thursday.

Hagadone should be fully healthy and ready to go by spring training next season. The 29-year-old southpaw posted a 4.28 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 28/12 K/BB ratio over 27 1/3 innings with the Tribe this season.

Indians manager Terry Francona said Nick Hagadone was scheduled to have surgery on his left elbow Thursday.

Francona previously hinted that Hagadone suffered another tear of the ulnar collateral ligament, raising the possibility of another Tommy John surgery, but he said Thursday that the upcoming procedure is "not typical." We should have more information soon, but it's clear that he won't be pitching anytime in the near future.
Jul 23 - 4:41 PM

Nick Hagadone (elbow) will receive a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews on Wednesday.

The feeling is that Hagadone probably tore his ulnar collateral ligament and the fact that he's going to see Dr. Andrews certainly doesn't do anything to quell those fears. More should be known about the lefty's status later Wednesday or Thursday.
Jul 22 - 1:16 PM

Indians manager Terry Francona indicated Thursday that Nick Hagadone (elbow) suffered a tear in his ulnar collateral ligament during a rehab appearance Wednesday.

Hagadone had Tommy John surgery in 2008, and Francona said "it looks like he did it again." The left-hander will receive a second opinion before a decision is made, but it looks like he could be going under the knife. "We'll have more [when he gets re-examined]," Francona added. "This isn't something that's [just] a week with no throwing."
Jul 17 - 9:26 AM

Nick Hagadone left a rehab appearance Wednesday at Low-A Mahoning Valley with pain in his left elbow.

Indians manager Terry Francona is expected to address the situation Thursday at the club's team workout in Cincinnati. Hagadone has been on the disabled list since July 7 because of a lower back strain. The 29-year-old left-hander owns a 4.28 ERA in 27 1/3 innings of relief this season out of the Cleveland bullpen.
Jul 16 - 10:05 AM

Indians placed LHP Nick Hagadone on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 7, with a lower back strain.

It's not clear at this point how long he's deal with the injury or how long he might be out. Kyle Crockett has assumed Hagadone's spot in the bullpen.

Indians recalled LHP Nick Hagadone from Triple-A Columbus.

Hagadone will join the pen after posting a 3.97 ERA and a 13/6 K/BB ratio in 11 1/3 innings for Columbus. It's the walks that have prevented him from establishing himself thus far, as he certainly has the stuff to be useful in relief.

Nick Hagadone has resolved his grievance case against the Indians.

Hagadone fractured his forearm in 2012 after punching something in frustration and was soon placed on the disqualified list by the Indians. The MLBPA then filed a grievance on his behalf. According to Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Hagadone will receive salary and have his service time restored while the Indians will receive another option on him.
