Danny Worth has agreed to a one-year, $700,000 contract with the SK Wyverns of the Korea Baseball Organization.
That's much more guaranteed money that he would have found in North America. Worth, 31, hit .179/.200/.231 in 40 plate appearances this past season for the Astros before getting released in July. He holds a .223/.281/.287 career batting line in Major League Baseball. Tue, Nov 15, 2016 07:46:00 PM

Astros purchased the contract of INF Danny Worth from Triple-A Fresno.

He'll provide some bench depth while Luke Gregerson is away from the team. Worth was hitting well in Triple-A, but he's a .230/.293/.295 hitter in the majors and can be ignored in fantasy leagues.

The Astros are likely to call up infielder Danny Worth on Tuesday, reports Brian McTaggart of

No word yet on what the corresponding roster move might be. Worth, 30, is batting .340/.449/.550 with eight homers through 54 games this season with Triple-A Fresno. However, he's a .230/.293/.295 hitter in the majors, so we aren't expecting much here.

Astros signed INF Danny Worth to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Worth, 30, spent all of last season at Triple-A with the Diamondbacks, hitting .314/.394/.469 with six homers and six steals. He's unlikely to make the Opening Day roster but isn't a bad depth option.

Diamondbacks signed INF Danny Worth to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Worth is a .230/.293/.295 hitter in 292 career plate appearances at the major league level, but the 29-year-old can play all over the infield defensively and could get a look as a utilityman at some point next season in Arizona. Worth had an offer from one team this winter to try becoming a pitcher.

Danny Worth has elected free agency.

The 29-year-old infielder is widely respected for his glove work, but is a career .230/.293/.295 hitter in 261 at-bats at the big league level. He'll look for an opportunity to compete for a utility role elsewhere.

Chris Iott of reports that Danny Worth has accepted his outright assignment to Triple-A Toledo.

He had the opportunity to refuse the assignment and become a free agent, but elected instead to remain with the organization he has spent his entire career with since being drafted in the second round in 2007. He'll continue to function as organizational depth in the infield, and perhaps bullpen.

Tigers designated INF Danny Worth for assignment.

Worth was batting .167/.217/.190 in 46 plate appearances this season for Detroit, but the 28-year-old infielder may draw interest on waivers for his defense versatility.

Tigers purchased the contract of INF Danny Worth from Triple-A Toledo.

The Tigers have given up on the Alex Gonzalez experiment already, so Worth and Andrew Romine will handle the shortstop duties. Worth was batting .308/.345/.404 over his first 14 games at Toledo.

Tigers reassigned INF Danny Worth to Triple-A Toledo.

And so we can officially eliminate another name from the shortstop competition. With Hernan Perez also being sent down, it looks like Andrew Romine and Alex Gonzalez will share the job unless the Tigers do something at the last minute.

Danny Worth doubled against the Nationals on Thursday to maintain his .333 average this spring.

Worth was dropped from the Tigers' 40-man roster in December, but he went unclaimed. Now he's the top internal candidate to be the team's Opening Day shortstop with Jose Iglesias hurt. Ideally, GM Dave Dombrowski will go out and get someone before then.

Tigers sent INF Danny Worth outright to Triple-A Toledo.

Worth was designated for assignment by the Tigers last week to clear a 40-man roster spot for new reliever Joba Chamberlain and drew no attention on waivers. The 28-year-old infielder hit .223/.305/.308 in 2013 at Triple-A.

Tigers designated INF Danny Worth for assignment.

The move was made in order to clear room on the 40-man roster for the addition of Joba Chamberlain. Worth batted just .220/.299/.304 at Triple-A in 2013 while missing the last few weeks of the season with a shoulder displacement. He's a good defender at multiple infield spots, though, so it's possible someone will scoop him up.
