Buster Posey went 1-for-1 with a double in a victory over the Padres on Sunday.
It's the 20th double of the season for Posey, who ends the year with a .320/.400/.462 line. He didn't have the kind of run-production we're used to seeing him have, but a lot of that has to do with playing in a lineup that stunk. He's still one of the better options at his position in fantasy ranks. Oct 1 - 6:26 PM

Buster Posey went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles in a loss to the Padres on Saturday.

The veteran catcher is rocking an elite .317/.397/.458 slash line at the thinnest fantasy lineup position. His counting stats are down this year largely because the hitters around him in the Giants' batting order have not been able to support him at all. He has 12 home runs with 67 RBI and 60 runs -- all of which are career lows in a full season for Posey.

Buster Posey had three doubles and three RBI versus the Padres in Friday's win.

The three doubles gave him 33 for the season. From a fantasy perspective, it's been a disappointing season for Posey; he appears set to finish with his lowest homer total in a full season and his fewest RBI since 2010. Still, more than anything else, his issues have to do with subpar teammates. He's batting .317 with an OBP that might end up at .400. He remains one of the league's best players.

Buster Posey is not in the Giants' starting lineup Wednesday afternoon against the Diamondbacks.

Posey recently missed some time due to a sore toe on his left foot and there's no reason for the Giants to push him with the regular season coming to a close. Nick Hundley will start at catcher and bat fifth Wednesday versus Arizona right-hander Braden Shipley. Hunter Pence is also sitting for this one, with Mac Williamson drawing the nod in right field.
Sep 27 - 1:42 PM

Buster Posey (foot) is back in the Giants' starting lineup Tuesday night against the Rockies.

Posey missed Sunday's series finale versus the Diamondbacks due to a sore toe on his left foot. It obviously wasn't anything too serious. He'll start at catcher and bat cleanup Tuesday against Colorado right-hander German Marquez.
Sep 19 - 6:22 PM

Buster Posey is not in the Giants' lineup Sunday due to a sore toe on his left foot.

A foul tip caught Posey's foot during Saturday's game. He should be back in there in a day or two. Nick Hundley will catch Sunday.
Sep 17 - 2:57 PM

Buster Posey went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Monday’s win over the Dodgers.

Posey plated a run with an infield single in the fifth inning, which put the Giants ahead at the time. The Dodgers tied things up in the top of the sixth before the Giants took the lead again in the sixth. Posey provided some insurance with an RBI double in the seventh. The veteran backstop has now hit safely in 11 straight games. He’s tied for fourth in the NL with a .321 batting average.

Buster Posey (finger) went 2-for-4 on Sunday in a loss to the White Sox.

Posey was back behind the plate after spending the last two games at DH due to a contusion in his right finger. He's now hitting .320 on the year, and he's really the only bright spot in what has been an atrocious year for the Giants.
Sep 10 - 5:54 PM

Buster Posey (finger) is expected to return to the catcher position on Sunday.

Posey has served as the Giants' designated hitter the last two days on the south side of Chicago due to a contusion on his right ring finger. He suffered that injury Tuesday night against the Rockies when he took a foul tip off his hand.
Sep 9 - 5:52 PM

Buster Posey (finger) returned to the Giants' lineup as the designated hitter on Friday.

Posey went 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in the contest. He's expected to function as the designated hitter or play first base in each of the three games against the White Sox in Chicago.
Sep 9 - 8:23 AM

Buster Posey (finger) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Posey was diagnosed with a contusion of the fourth finger on his right hand after taking a foul-tip behind the plate in the eighth inning on Tuesday. Nick Hundley will serve as backstop in his place for Wednesday's contest and is hitting fourth. Posey is expected to play first base and/or serve as designated hitter for this weekend's road series with the White Sox.
Sep 6 - 7:01 PM

Buster Posey has been diagnosed with a contusion on the fourth finger of his right hand.

Posey was in serious pain after getting struck by a foul tip of the bottom of the eighth inning Tuesday night against the Rockies, but X-rays turned up negative. Consider him day-to-day. Tim Federowicz finished out Tuesday night's loss behind the plate and will probably start there on Wednesday.
Sep 6 - 12:30 AM

Buster Posey was removed from Tuesday's game against the Rockies after taking a foul tip off his right hand.

Posey ran out past the mound in pain after getting struck with a ricochet off the bat of DJ LeMahieu in the bottom of the eighth inning at Coors Field. He's probably headed for X-rays. Look for an update on the star catcher by the end of the night. Tim Federowicz took over behind the plate for the visiting Giants.
Sep 6 - 12:00 AM

Buster Posey went 1-for-3 and delivered a clutch ninth-inning RBI versus the Cardinals on Saturday.

The Giants had been held scoreless on one hit through eight innings before Posey's single tied the game in the bottom of the ninth. They ended up winning the game in extras to spoil a magnificent start by Lance Lynn. Posey also worked a walk while serving as the first baseman in the ballgame and is slashing .317/.405/.468 with 12 homers and 56 RBI on the season.
Sep 2 - 8:33 PM

Buster Posey (thumb) returned to the Giants' starting lineup on Thursday against the Nationals.

Posey had been sidelined since August 20 due to a bruised thumb. He's back in his customary cleanup spot in the Giants' lineup against Gio Gonzalez and the Nationals on Thursday.
