Buster Posey finished 2-for-3 with two RBI in the Giants' Cactus League loss to the Royals on Sunday.

Posey plated Joe Panik and Gordon Beckham with a single to right field off Danny Duffy in the bottom of the third inning. The star catcher seems to be over the neck stiffness that sidelined him for part of last week.

Mar 3 - 12:01 PM

Buster Posey (neck) said he's feeling better and wants to catch Friday's Cactus League game against the Athletics.

Posey has missed the last two games with a stiff neck but should be back in the lineup on Friday. Assuming that's the case, Posey should log six or seven innings behind the plate on both Friday and Sunday before heading off to represent the United States in the World Baseball Classic. Posey had a slightly down year by his standards in 2016 but still hit a respectable .288 with 14 homers and 80 RBI.
Mar 2 - 7:40 PM

Buster Posey (neck) was scratched from the Giants' Cactus League lineup again on Thursday.

Posey has been out of action since Monday because of a stiff neck. It's not a serious concern here in early March. Consider him day-to-day in Giants camp.
Mar 2 - 11:12 AM

Buster Posey is not in the lineup for Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Dodgers due to a stiff neck.

Posey is just dealing with a minor stiff neck. Consider him day-to-day for the time being. This does not sound like it will keep him out of action for too long.

MLB Network's Jon Morosi reports Buster Posey and 10 other position players have confirmed their intent to play for Team USA in the 2017 World Baseball Classic.

The complete list thus far is Posey, Jonathan Lucroy, Eric Hosmer, Paul Goldschmidt, Ian Kinsler, Nolan Arenado, Brandon Crawford, Daniel Murphy, Christian Yelich, Adam Jones and Andrew McCutchen. Pitchers have been harder to come by. The team is shaping up to be stronger than the American teams in prior WBCs.

Buster Posey has been named the Gold Glove Award winner at catcher in the National League.

That snaps a run of eight straight Gold Glove Awards for Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina. All of the Gold Glove winners were announced during an hour-long special Tuesday night (8pm-9pm ET) on ESPN, while a presidential election was being decided on most every other network. The full list of Gold Glove recipients in the National League: C Buster Posey, 1B Anthony Rizzo, 2B Joe Panik, SS Brandon Crawford, 3B Nolan Arenado, LF Starling Marte, CF Ender Inciarte, RF Jason Heyward, P Zack Greinke.

Buster Posey went 2-for-4 with a double as the Giants were shut out by the Cubs in Game 1 of the NLDS on Friday.

Posey doubled off of Aroldis Chapman with two outs in the ninth inning, but Hunter Pence wasn't able to cash him in. He made a blunder on the base paths earlier in the contest, perhaps thinking that there was only one out instead of two, as he slowed down heading to second base and didn't score on Angel Pagan's fourth-inning double. Posey was the only Giant to record more than one hit in the ballgame.

Buster Posey helped get the Giants into the playoffs, going 3-for-5 and driving in three runs in Sunday's victory over the Dodgers.

He got the Giants on the board early, stroking a two-RBI single in the first inning. He added another RBI single in the second frame. Posey didn't have one of his better seasons but did plenty to help his owners nonetheless. He ends up with a .288/.362/.434 slash line with 14 homers and 80 RBI in 146 games.

Buster Posey went 1-for-3 and delivered a two-run single as the Giants fell to the Padres in San Diego on Sunday.

His run-scoring knock off of Clayton Richard came during a three-run rally in the third inning that gave the Giants an early 3-1 lead. Unfortunately, that would be the extent of their offense in the contest. Posey has disappointed relative to expectations this season, slashing .288/.358/.434 with only 13 homers and 73 RBI on the season.

Buster Posey went 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBI as the Giants bested the Cardinals 8-2 on Friday.

Posey hasn't had many outbursts like this one this season, but he's still putting up very solid numbers; he's batting .294 and has 32 doubles to go along with his 13 homers. He's also sporting a 60/57 K/BB ratio. The Giants could use the power surge if it comes, but they can't complain either way.

Buster Posey is out of the Giants' starting lineup on Monday against the Rockies.

It looks to be a routine day of rest. Trevor Brown will start behind the plate and bat eighth.

Buster Posey went 1-for-3 with an RBI double and two total RBI in Wednesday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Posey opened the scoring when he notched an RBI double off Diamondbacks starter Shelby Miller in the first inning. He would also loft a sacrifice fly in the seventh. The rock-of-a-backstop is slashing .296/.373/.453 with 12 homers and 62 RBI over 426 at-bats. He has recorded at least one hit in seven of his last eight games.
