Buster Posey went 1-for-3 in Wednesday's loss to the Dodgers.

The Giants were almost completely punch-less in this one, managing just four hits on the afternoon and only one for extra bases. For his part, Posey is now hitting a cool .378/.452/.588 with seven homers and 11 RBI. He had turned in multi-hit showings in each of his last four games prior to being limited to just the solitary single in Wednesday's contest.
May 17 - 6:30 PM

Buster Posey went 2-for-4 and hit his seventh homer Monday as the Giants topped the Dodgers 8-4.

His seventh solo shot, too. Posey is halfway to his 2016 total of 14 homers. He's not yet one-seventh of his way to his 2016 total of 80 RBI, since he hasn't hit with a whole lot of runners on and hasn't done very well when he has gotten those opportunities. He's on fire right now, though.
May 16 - 2:13 AM

Buster Posey is getting a day off on Saturday against the Reds.

Posey clubbed a walk-off homer in the 17th inning on Friday night to beat the Reds and has earned a day off after catching that marathon contest. Nick Hundley will start behind the dish and bat sixth against Lisalverto Bonilla and the Reds on Saturday.
May 13 - 2:22 PM

Buster Posey homered in the bottom of the 17th inning to give the Giants a 3-2 victory over the Reds on Friday.

Posey also had a single in the contest. The homer was his sixth of the year, but he still has just nine RBI through 29 games. Of course, that says more about his teammates than it does him. He finished the game with a .999 OPS; no one else on the roster is above .760.
May 13 - 3:49 AM

Buster Posey is not in the Giants' lineup Thursday against the Reds.

This was a planned night off for the veteran. Nick Hundley is filling in behind the plate and hitting eighth against Reds hurler Bronson Arroyo. Posey holds a .367 average this year, good for third-best in the majors.
May 11 - 8:41 PM

Buster Posey slugged his fifth home run of the season Wednesday in the Giants' comeback win over the Mets.

Bruce hit a solo shot off Mets starter Tommy Milone in the top of the second inning, singled and scored in the top of the sixth inning, and drew a walk and scored his third run of the day as part of the Giants' big four-run rally in the top of the ninth. Posey has homered in three straight games and now has four home runs in May after slugging only one in April. His season slash line is up to .367/.446/.561.
May 10 - 4:59 PM

Buster Posey homered to give the Giants their only run in Tuesday's loss to the Mets.

He also walked. Posey has his OPS all of the way up to .971. Unfortunately, none of his Giants teammates have followed suit.
May 9 - 10:46 PM

Buster Posey finished 2-for-4 with a solo homer Monday in the Giants' loss to the Mets.

Posey doubled in the fourth inning and took Mets starter Jacob deGrom for a ride in the top of the sixth. It was just his third home run of the season, though he's slashing .363/.437/.505.
May 8 - 11:15 PM

Buster Posey went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in Sunday's loss to the Reds.

With the Giants picking up just four hits in the 4-0 loss, Posey shouldn't feel too bad about his empty afternoon. The dependable fantasy backstop is slashing .356/.434/.460 with two homers and nine RBI across 87 at-bats. While the counting stats have not begun to pile up as of yet, Posey remains a good bet for double-digit home runs and 80-plus RBI.
May 7 - 7:03 PM

Buster Posey is not in the Giants starting lineup for Friday's showdown against the Padres.

It appears to be just a routine day of rest for the hard-hitting backstop. Nick Hundley is starting behind the plate while Mike Morse draws a start at first base and is hitting cleanup for the Giants on Friday.
Apr 28 - 6:46 PM

Buster Posey finished 2-for-3 with a walk and RBI in Tuesday's loss against the Dodgers.

Posey has hit safely in each of his seven games since returning from a concussion, although he has managed just one run scored and just one RBI. Nick Hundley made another start behind the dish Tuesday, although Posey did fill in at catcher in the later innings. Whether Posey is at first base or back behind the plate, as long as he is starting he is an obvious worthwhile fantasy option.
Apr 26 - 3:05 AM

Buster Posey went 3-for-5 as a designated hitter Tuesday in his first game back from a concussion.

It's unclear whether Posey will catch Wednesday, but since the Royals are playing in K.C. and have the DH available, he should be in the lineup either way.
Apr 19 - 12:49 AM

Giants activated C Buster Posey from the 7-day concussion disabled list.

Posey is starting at DH and batting fourth Tuesday night against the Royals after missing a week of action with a mild concussion. Nick Hundley could continue to see regular starts behind the plate while the Giants easy Posey back in.
Apr 18 - 3:52 PM

Buster Posey (consussion) is optimistic he'll be able to return to the Giants starting lineup on Tuesday when he's first eligible.

Posey has ramped up physical activity and took swings in the indoor batting cages on Friday. Even if he doesn't make it back on Tuesday, expect the hard-hitting backstop to make his return at some point next week.
