Buster Posey went 3-for-4 with a double, homer, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 4-0 triumph versus the rival Dodgers.
Posey entered the night as a strong play in daily leagues against the left-hander Brett Anderson, and he paid off for those investing handsomely. Interestingly, the homer came against right-hander Yimi Garcia, not Anderson. Posey, on an eight-game hitting streak, is slashing .308/.379/.476. May 21 - 1:15 AM

Buster Posey went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI single in Tuesday's win over the Dodgers.

Posey broke a scoreless tie in the third inning with an RBI single to left-center off of Carlos Frias. As the Dodgers were shut out, it turned out to be the deciding hit. The catcher is now on a seven-game hitting streak and has hit safely in 14 of 16 games so far this month. Posey is batting .295/.369/.439 with six home runs and 19 RBI on the year.
May 20 - 1:23 AM

Buster Posey connected for a two-run homer in Friday's 10-2 win over the Reds.

It was his sixth home run of the season. Posey has knocked in six runs over the past three games and owns a .286/.364/.444 batting line on the year. He currently has more walks (16) than strikeouts (13). The Giants are set to get Hunter Pence back from the disabled list on Saturday, which should only help Posey.
May 15 - 10:29 PM

Buster Posey went 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBI against the Astros on Wednesday.

Unfortunately, Posey needed one more hit; he ended the game with a little tapper back to the mound with the tying run on third in the top of the ninth. Posey is up to five homers and 14 RBI in 33 games for the season. He's one of the Giants most looking forward to Hunter Pence's return.
May 13 - 11:49 PM

Buster Posey is not in the Giants' lineup Sunday.

He's just getting a breather. The Giants are going with Andrew Susac at catcher Sunday in Posey's place.
May 10 - 1:21 PM

Buster Posey is not in the Giants' lineup Wednesday.

He's just getting some rest with it being a day game after a night game. Andrew Susac is catching Chris Heston.
May 6 - 1:28 PM

Buster Posey went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Saturday in the Giants' 5-4 win over the Angels.

Posey doubled in the bottom of the first inning and then slugged a 373-foot shot off Angels reliever Vinnie Pestano in the bottom of the seventh. The star catcher fell into a rough slump in the middle of April, but he's been in a great groove for the past few weeks. The homer Saturday was his fourth of the season.
May 2 - 6:53 PM

Buster Posey was the only offensive force the Giants needed to take a 2-1 victory from the Dodgers on Tuesday.

A low-scoring affair was to be expected as Madison Bumgarner and Clayton Kershaw squared off. Posey managed to do some damage against Kershaw, the 2014 NL MVP and Cy Young Award winner, singling in a run in the first inning and hitting a solo home run in the fourth. Posey has been surprisingly mediocre offensively in the season's first month, carrying a .263/.337/.395 battling line with three home runs and 10 RBI.
Apr 29 - 1:20 AM

Buster Posey (neck, shoulder) went 0-for-3 with a walk Wednesday in his return to action.

Posey sat out Tuesday's game with some stiffness in his right trapezius muscle, but he was able to play nine innings of first base on Wednesday night against the Rockies and he should be back at catcher on Thursday against the Diamondbacks. Posey is batting just .219/.333/.406 on the young season, though he does have two home runs in 10 games.
Apr 16 - 8:51 AM

Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Tuesday that Buster Posey (neck, shoulder) will be back in the Giants' lineup at first base on Wednesday.

Posey is sitting out Tuesday with some stiffness in his trapezius, but he'll be fine. Hector Sanchez is at catcher Tuesday and will be there again Wednesday with Posey handling first base.
Apr 14 - 7:53 PM

Buster Posey is not in the Giants' lineup Tuesday due to a tight trapezius muscle.

The muscle tightened up on him during Monday's game, so the Giants are playing it safe and resting their star. It doesn't sound like more than a day-to-day situation, so Posey should have a shot to get back in there on Wednesday. Hector Sanchez is at catcher Tuesday.
Apr 14 - 6:33 PM

Buster Posey is out of the Giants' starting lineup on Tuesday night against the Rockies.

It's the first day off of the season for Posey, who's batting .250/.353/.464 through 34 plate appearances. Hector Sanchez will catch starter Tim Hudson.
Apr 14 - 5:53 PM

Buster Posey had a perfect night at the dish, going 3-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Tuesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Posey cranked a two-run home run off of Rubby De La Rosa in the first inning, then added two singles and a walk but was stranded all three times. Posey hit .311 with 22 home runs and 89 RBI last season and should have no problem continuing to rank among the best players in baseball again in 2015.
Apr 8 - 12:53 AM

Buster Posey's three-run blast in the first inning on Friday powered the Giants to a 4-0 victory over the Diamondbacks.

Posey had been battling a mild scapula injury in recent days, but appears to be fully healthy and ready to go for the start of the regular season. The three-run blast off Kendall Graveman was his first home run of the spring. Posey finished the night 1-for-4 and is now hitting .277 with eight RBI on the spring season.
Apr 4 - 1:47 AM

Buster Posey is dealing with a mild right scapula injury.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy called the injury "very mild." Posey was removed a few innings early in Wednesday's game and he'll play first base Thursday to get a bit of a rest, but it doesn't sound like anything too concerning.
