Buster Posey hit a pair of three-run home runs as the Giants outlasted the Rockies 10-5 on Saturday.

Posey took Rockies starter Eddie Butler deep in the first inning before adding a second, three-run blast in the eighth. The two-homer game was his first of 2016, giving him seven bombs and 24 RBI overall. Posey is batting .268/.328/.470 through 45 games.

May 25 - 1:22 PM

Buster Posey went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Saturday's win over the Cubs.

Posey boosted the Giants to a 4-1 lead with his third-inning homer against Cubs starter Jon Lester. They would tack on one more run in the frame to take a 5-1 lead. Two late runs by the Cubs were not enough to topple that deficit. For the season, Posey is hitting .274/.327/.438 with nine doubles, five homers and 17 RBI over 146 at-bats.
May 21 - 10:59 PM

Buster Posey is not in the Giants' lineup Sunday.

It's a routine day of rest. Matt Duffy is also getting a breather for the Giants, as Trevor Brown is catching and Conor Gillaspie is at third base versus Arizona.
May 15 - 1:35 PM

Buster Posey went 2-for-5 with a go-ahead two-run double in Saturday's win over the Diamondbacks.

After the Diamondbacks tied the game at 3-3 in bottom of the eighth inning, Posey immediately lifted the Giants back ahead in the ninth. Facing off against reliever Daniel Hudson with two outs and runners on second and third, Posey hit a grounds-rule double to right-center. It scored both runners and boosted the Giants to a 5-3 lead. That score would stand as the final. A fantasy rock, Posey is hitting .273/.331/.430 with four homers and 14 RBI over 128 at-bats. It has been a relatively slow start for the catcher, but owners shouldn't be worried about that.
May 15 - 12:03 AM

Buster Posey walked with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 13th inning to deliver the Giants to a 5-4 win over the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

After the Giants placed runners on second and third in the 13th inning, reliever Ryan Tepera intentionally walked Joe Panik to load the bases. The move worked, at first, as he induced a Matt Duffy liner for the second out. Then came Posey, who walked to bring home Brandon Belt and end the affair. For the season, the stud backstop is slashing .270/.333/.426 with four homers, 12 RBI and six doubles over 115 at-bats.
May 11 - 8:47 PM

Buster Posey is getting the day off Wednesday.

Posey will continue to get regular days off as the Giants look to keep him fresh, especially when they're scheduled to play in the daytime following a night game. Trevor Brown is at catcher and batting seventh on Wednesday afternoon against the Reds.
May 4 - 10:29 AM

Buster Posey went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Tuesday's victory over the Reds.

All three of his hits were doubles. The Giants tallied 10 hits on the night and finally scratched across the go-ahead runs in the eighth inning. Posey has picked up seven hits over his last three games and has pushed his average from .264 to .315 over his last five contests.
May 3 - 11:08 PM

Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Thursday that he plans to rest Buster Posey more this season.

"The plan really all year with Buster, probably, is to give him a few more breaks than what I’ve given in the past," Bochy said. Posey set career highs in games played and plate appearances last season, although he started 37 games at first base. He's been at first just twice so far this season and it sounds like he'll see more full days off rather than play first when he's not catching. While Posey's fantasy owners might not like him playing fewer games, it could be good for his production in the long run if it helps keep him fresher.
Apr 29 - 12:30 PM

Buster Posey is getting a day off Wednesday.

Trevor Brown will start at catcher and bat eighth versus Padres right-hander Andrew Cashner. A scheduled off day Thursday allows the Giants to get Posey back-to-back days of rest. He's slashing .264/.325/.417 with three home runs in 19 games this season.
Apr 27 - 1:33 PM

Buster Posey is out of the Giants' starting lineup Thursday against the Diamondbacks.

Trevor Brown will start at catcher and bat eighth versus Arizona right-hander Shelby Miller. Posey went 0-for-4 on Wednesday and has an underwhelming .255/.328/.392 batting line in 14 games this season.
Apr 21 - 1:23 PM

Buster Posey is starting at first base Tuesday night against the Diamondbacks.

It'll be his first start there this season. He's batting third. Trevor Brown will catch Giants right-hander Matt Cain and bat fifth versus Arizona lefty Robbie Ray.
Apr 19 - 6:25 PM

Giants manager Bruce Bochy says Buster Posey is fine.

Trevor Brown replaced Posey in the seventh inning Thursday against Colorado but that was just to give him a breather after catching 62 pitches in the fifth inning. He should be back behind the dish Friday with Madison Bumgarner throwing.
Apr 14 - 7:42 PM

Buster Posey (foot) is back in the Giants' starting lineup Thursday afternoon against the Rockies.

Posey will catch and bat third versus Colorado left-hander Jorge De La Rosa after missing two games with a bruised right foot. Trevor Brown is on the bench.
