Middlebrooks, now 28, appeared in 10 games with the Brewers this season and batted .282/.308/.508 with 10 homers over 68 games this season with Triple-A Colorado Springs. He'll likely have to settle for a spring training invite somewhere.

Jul 25 - 1:57 PM

Will Middlebrooks left Sunday's game versus the Cubs with a right lower leg strain.

Middlebrooks tweaked his leg while popping out in the third inning. It's unclear whether it could be more than a day-to-day injury, but the Brewers should offer up more on his status at some point.
Jul 24 - 3:51 PM

Brewers purchased the contract of INF Will Middlebrooks from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

The former top prospect was hitting .282/.308/.508 with 10 homers and 47 RBI in 68 games at Triple-A. In typical Middlebrooks fashion, that line includes a 59/9 K/BB ratio. It's unlikely that he's going to be able to handle major league pitching this time around, but he may run into a few and could be worth a look for teams in need of power in NL-only formats.
Jul 3 - 9:43 PM

Will Middlebrooks has been placed on the Triple-A disabled list with an oblique strain.

The injury will likely cost him the next 3-4 weeks. Middlebrooks was sent to the minors just before Opening Day after hitting .195 in 41 at-bats this spring. He won't be up in Milwaukee anytime soon.
Apr 12 - 5:05 PM

Will Middlebrooks has a July 1 opt-out clause.

Middlebrooks accepted an assignment to Triple-A Colorado Springs earlier this week. The 27-year-old struggled in spring training and batted just .212 with a .602 OPS in 270 plate appearances last season for the Padres. He is not relevant to fantasy baseball pursuits.

Brewers signed 3B Will Middlebrooks to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Middlebrooks was non-tendered by the Padres earlier this month after batting just .212 with nine home runs and a .602 OPS over 270 plate appearances this past season. However, there's opportunity at third base with the Brewers, so he's in a good position to win a roster spot in the spring. Interestingly, he will be competing with former Red Sox prospect Garin Cecchini.

WEEI's Rob Bradford reports about 10 teams have shown interest in Will Middlebrooks.

The Padres non-tendered him earlier this week. Middlebrooks fared poorly in his only season in San Diego, hitting .212 with only nine homers and 29 RBI. The 27-year-old offers some appeal as a utility player. He started games at three different positions last year.

Padres non-tendered INF Will Middlebrooks.

Middlebrooks was the Padres' Opening Day third baseman in 2015, but he went on to hit .212/.241/.361 in 270 plate appearances. This after posting a .522 OPS in 2014. It will probably do him some good to get out of San Diego. The 27-year-old is now a free agent.

Padres optioned INF Will Middlebrooks to Triple-A El Paso.

The Padres had been shoehorning Middlebrooks in at shortstop some of late with Yangervis Solarte taking over as the regular third baseman. Ultimately, though, he just hasn't hit enough to justify a roster spot, batting only .212/.241/.361. Abraham Almonte has taken his spot on the roster.
