Spending most of the 2016 campaign at Triple-A in the Brewers' system this past season, the 28-year-old third baseman hit .282/.308/.508 with 10 homers in 68 games played. Regardless of whether he manages to crawl onto the Opening Day roster as a utility option, there is no fantasy upside in his bat.

Middlebrooks spent most of this past season at Triple-A in the Brewers organization, batting .282/.308/.508 with 10 homers over 68 games. The 28-year-old used to be a decent prospect but is merely a depth guy at this point.

Will Middlebrooks left Sunday's game versus the Cubs with a right lower leg strain.

Brewers purchased the contract of INF Will Middlebrooks from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

The former top prospect was hitting .282/.308/.508 with 10 homers and 47 RBI in 68 games at Triple-A. In typical Middlebrooks fashion, that line includes a 59/9 K/BB ratio. It's unlikely that he's going to be able to handle major league pitching this time around, but he may run into a few and could be worth a look for teams in need of power in NL-only formats.
