White Sox sent RHP Freddy Dolsi outright to Triple-A Charlotte.
This move clears a spot on the 40-man roster. Dolsi, 28, was claimed off waivers from the Tigers in December of 2009 and spent the entire 2010 season at the minor league level. He has an 8.24 ERA and 13/4 K/BB ratio over his first 19 2/3 innings with the Knights this season. Mon, May 2, 2011 06:54:00 PM

White Sox claimed RHP Freddy Dolsi off waivers from the Tigers.

Dolsi was cut free in early December to make room for players in the three-team blockbuster between the Tigers, D'Backs and Yankees. He put up a 1.69 ERA in 10 2/3 innings with Detroit this season and had a 3.54 ERA and 1.38 WHIP over parts of six seasons in the Tigers' minor league system.

Tigers designated RHP Freddy Dolsi for assignment.

With the blockbuster three-way trade with the Yankees and Diamondbacks made official on Wednesday, the Tigers had to clear some room on their 40-man roster. Dosli, 26, put up a 1.69 ERA in 10 2/3 innings with the big club this season. He has a 3.54 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in parts of six seasons in Detroit's minor league system.

Tigers optioned RHP Freddy Dolsi to Triple-A Toledo.

In two stints with the Tigers this year, Dolsi put up a 1.69 ERA in 10 2/3 innings with a 1.59 WHIP and 3/4 K/BB rate. He should be back when rosters expand in September.

Tigers recalled RHP Freddy Dolsi from Triple-A Toledo.

Dolsi has a 0.96 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP in nine-plus innings with the Tigers this season. He could stick around for a while if he continues the success.

Tigers optioned RHP Freddy Dolsi to Triple-A Toledo.

Dolsi had a 0.96 ERS in 9 1/3 innings, but just two strikeouts. His 4.35 ERA at Triple-A Toledo this year is likely a better gauge of his abilities.

Tigers recalled RHP Freddy Dolsi from Triple-A Toledo.

Dolsi will take over for Ryan Perry, who was dumped to Triple-A Monday morning after allowing five earned runs last week in a 4 1/3-inning span. Dolsi, 26, had a 4.35 ERA, a 19/11 K/BB ratio and four saves for the Toledo Mud Hens. He's allowed just a single run in his last 10 2/3 innings.

Tigers optioned RHP Freddy Dolsi to Triple-A Toledo; reassigned RHP Casey Fien and LHP Fu-Te Ni to minor league camp.

We thought Fien had a pretty good chance of making the team with Joel Zumaya expected to start off on the DL, but a 1.23 ERA wasn't good enough for the Tigers. With Dolsi also out of the mix, it currently looks like Detroit will go with a pen of Brandon Lyon, Fernando Rodney, Bobby Seay, Clay Rapada, Zach Miner, Juan Rincon and either Ryan Perry or Eddie Bonine. Rule 5 pick Kyle Bloom and Scott Williamson look like long shots.

Tigers recalled RHP Freddy Dolsi from Triple-A Toledo.

Dolsi had allowed one run in nine innings since being sent down on Aug. 14. He could move right back into a late-inning role in the Detroit bullpen.

Tigers optioned RHP Freddy Dolsi to Triple-A Toledo.

Called up in early May, Dolsi went 1-4 with a 3.96 ERA in 33 appearances, but his awful 17/23 K/BB ratio in 38 2/3 innings shows that he struggled quite a bit. The Tigers' bullpen is expected to get Todd Jones back from the disabled list Friday.

Freddy Dolsi returned to action on Saturday and pitched two scoreless innings against the White Sox.

Dolsi hadn't worked in five days because of shoulder fatigue.

Freddy Dolsi (arm fatigue) said he felt fine after a bullpen session on Friday.

Dolsi should return to the Tigers 'pen early next week. He's 1-4 with a 4.85 ERA in 29.2 innings this year. Manager Jim Leyland had this to say about his rookie on Friday: "I've been very impressed with him. He'll come to spring training next year and hopefully improve his breaking ball, but he's a good project."

Freddy Dolsi is dealing with a fatigued shoulder and might be unavailable this weekend.

The Tigers would like step up their efforts to trade for a reliever if Dolsi doesn't feel better in the next few days. They could also look to trade for a starter and put Zach Miner back in the pen.

Freddy Dolsi retired all nine hitters he faced Thursday to record a save in a 9-2 game against the Mariners.

The Mariners obviously just wanted the series -- if not the entire season -- to be over, and they declined to even attempt to work the count against a rookie who had walked four in 4 1/3 innings since being called up 19 days ago. It was Dolsi's first appearance in a game in which the Tigers had a lead. He has a 1.29 ERA, but he hasn't earned manager Jim Leyland's trust quite yet.

Tigers purchased the contract of RHP Freddy Dolsi from Double-A Erie.

A big surprise, Dolsi, 25, had allowed five runs in 10 1/3 innings between Single-A Lakeland and Erie. The Tigers essentially just told Blaine Neal and Ian Ostlund that their outstanding Triple-A performances were completely irrelevant.
