The move was made in order to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Josh Kinney. Moore is batting just .209/.247/.372 this year for Tacoma and has been limited to 24 games while recovering from knee surgery.

Adam Moore underwent successful surgery Thursday to repair a meniscus tear in his right knee.

Moore is expected to need the next 4-6 weeks to recover. He will likely head to Triple-A Tacoma once he's back to full health.

Adam Moore is scheduled to undergo surgery Thursday to correct a medial meniscus tear in his right knee.

The procedure is likely to sideline Moore for a couple of months. He's 10-for-33 this year at the Triple-A level.

Mariners activated C Adam Moore from the 15-day disabled list; optioned him to Triple-A Tacoma.

Moore suffered a broken bone in the back of his right hand in early-March, but he's 4-for-15 (.267) with a homer over his first five games with the Rainiers. It's ultimately not a surprising move with Miguel Olivo, John Jaso and Jesus Montero expected to split time behind the plate at the big league level.

Moore suffered a broken bone in the back of his right hand in early-March, but he hasn't had any issues so far. He's expected to catch on Thursday and serve as the designated hitter on Friday. The M's already have Miguel Olivo, John Jaso and Jesus Montero as options behind the plate at the major league level, so he figures to stay at Triple-A for a while.

Moore suffered a broken bone in the back of his right hand earlier this month, but he could be able to begin catching in games again when the team returns to Arizona on Friday. The 27-year-old backstop figures to head to Triple-A Tacoma once he's back to full health.

Adam Moore said the broken bone in the back of his right hand isn't as serious as originally thought and he hopes to return soon after his brace is removed in two weeks.

MLB.com's Greg Johns cautions that Moore "might be overly optimistic with his estimate of a 2-4 week absence." He still seems likely to miss most, if not all, of the rest of spring training. If not on the DL, Moore could begin the year in the minors unless the Mariners decide to carry three catchers.
