Jefry Marte clubbed a three-run homer in the first inning on Wednesday, powering the Angels to a 7-4 victory over the visiting Rangers.
Marte has been an unexpected source of power in the Halos lineup this season, though he's only hitting .227/.277/.436 on the year with six homers and 17 RBI. He isn't seeing consistent enough playing time to be worth a look in mixed leagues, though he's worth a roster spot in all AL-only formats and could be an interesting punt option in daily leagues when squaring off against an opposing southpaw. Jul 7 - 8:26 AM

Jefry Marte (knee) went 0-for-2 off the bench Tuesday night against the Rays.

Marte had to be lifted from Monday's series opener after experiencing left knee discomfort. It's obviously nothing too serious. He remains day-to-day.
Jul 6 - 8:17 AM

Angels manager Mike Scioscia said that Jefry Marte (knee) should be fine to play on Tuesday.

Marte was hit in the knee by a Matt Moore pitch in the top of the fourth inning on Monday, but it's not a major concern. Consider him day-to-day.

Jefry Marte was lifted from Monday's game against the Rays with an apparent injury.

Marte got hit on the knee by a Matt Moore pitch in the top of the fourth inning, though he went on to slug a game-tying solo shot in the top of the sixth. There should be an update from the Angels after the game.
Jul 4 - 3:24 PM

Jefry Marte hit a walkoff sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Angels defeated the Athletics 7-6 on Sunday afternoon in Anaheim.

Anaheim was down 7-2 after the top of the fourth inning, but the club put up two runs in the seventh, two more in the eighth, and then won the game against Liam Hendriks in the bottom of the ninth. Mike Trout and Albert Pujols both singled, Johnny Giavotella drew a walk, and Marte drove a ball deep enough to right field to give the Halos their first win in seven games. Marte also had an RBI single on Sunday.
Jun 26 - 7:30 PM

Jefry Marte has been getting reps in left field.

Marte is batting .314 (11-for-35) with four homers and four doubles in 14 games and the Angels are looking for ways to keep his bat in the lineup. The 24-year-old has never played the outfield in pro ball, but Angels' left fielders have an MLB-worst .550 OPS this season. It's worth a shot.
Jun 13 - 8:23 PM

Jefry Marte clubbed his third home run of the season as the Angels fell to the Yankees on Thursday.

His pinch-hit, two-run blast chased Ivan Nova in the seventh inning and pulled the Angels to within two runs at 5-3, but that wound up being the extent of their offensive attack. He has been fantastic in limited action for the Angels, slashing .375/.400/.875 with three long balls and six RBI.
Jun 9 - 10:12 PM

Angels recalled INF Jefry Marte from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Marte will start at third base and bat fifth for the Angels on Tuesday night with Yunel Escobar (wrist) still sidelined. Marte has a bit of pop, but he's not worth consideration in standard fantasy leagues.
May 31 - 5:24 PM

Angels optioned INF Jefry Marte to Triple-A Salt Lake.

The 24-year-old infielder went 2-for-6 with a pair of doubles and four strikeouts in his limited action with the Angels. He'll head back to Triple-A where he'll continue to provide organizational depth.

Angels recalled INF Jefry Marte from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Marte struggled in Triple-A Salt Lake, hitting .225/.321/.350 in 140 plate appearances, but an injury to Yunel Escobar (thumb) necessitated a call-up to the majors. Manager Mike Scioscia immediately penciled him into the starting lineup on Friday against the Mariners, batting eighth.
May 13 - 7:59 PM

Angels optioned INF Jefry Marte to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Marte actually had a decent spring with nine RBI and a .298 batting average but it wasn't enough to crack the Angels' Opening Day roster. Rey Navarro and Rafael Ortega were also optioned. Marte should make a few cameos in Los Angeles throughout the season.
Apr 2 - 6:07 PM

Angels acquired INF Jefry Marte from the Tigers for INF Kody Eaves.

Marte was just designated for assignment by the Tigers last week after the addition of Justin Upton. The 24-year-old corner infielder posted strong numbers at the Triple-A level last season and batted .213/.284/.413 with four home runs over 90 plate appearances with Detroit. He could be in the mix for a bench job in the spring, but the Angels could keep him around as minor league depth.
Jan 27 - 12:07 PM

Tigers designated INF Jefry Marte for assignment.

The move clears a spot for the newly-signed Justin Upton on the 40-man roster. Marte, 24, appeared in 33 games with the Tigers last season and batted .213/.284/.413 with four home runs over 90 plate appearances.
