Taylor Green is expected to miss the rest of the season following hip surgery.

Green will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair an impingement in his left hip. The 26-year-old infielder suffered the injury during the Cactus League schedule and suffered a setback in extended spring training. Now he'll have to wait until next spring to return to game action. It's just the latest blow to the Brewers' infield.

Taylor Green will have arthroscopic surgery next Tuesday to repair an impingement in his left hip.

Green suffered the injury late in Cactus League play and recently aggravated it at extended spring training. The Brewers are only saying at the moment that the infielder will be sidelined for an extended period of time.

Taylor Green could need surgery to repair a left hip labrum injury.

Green suffered the injury back on March 21 and recently had a setback in extended spring training. He will travel to Milwaukee Thursday to have the hip examined before the Brewers decide what course of action to take. It's not clear how long an operation would sideline him.

Taylor Green (hip) has had a setback and will not begin his rehab assignment on Wednesday as hoped.

Green is coming back from a left hip labrum injury and obviously hasn't progressed as hoped. He should be considered out indefinitely.

Brewers place INF Taylor Green on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 22, with a left hip labral injury.

Green suffered the injury while taking swings prior to a game last week. The 26-year-old infielder will be eligible to return for the second week of the season, but it's not clear if he'll be ready by then.

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke isn't sure Taylor Green (hip) and Jeff Bianchi (hip) will be ready in time for Opening Day.

"Bianchi and Green are two guys that we really thought were strongly going to be on our team," said Roenicke. "We figured Taylor was going to be in this mix so we've had to change our thinking a little bit in case he isn't ready. At this point, I don't know if he will be." Roenicke indicated that the club might seek bench help from outside the organization if Green and/or Bianchi need DL time.

Taylor Green tweaked his hip while taking swings prior to Tuesday's game and is expected to miss a few days.

Green is confident that it isn't a big deal, but he could begin the season on the disabled list if the symptoms linger. The 26-year-old entered spring training with a chance to win a bench spot, but he's hitting just .139 (5-for-36) with 12 strikeouts in 15 games.

Taylor Green fainted after giving two vials of blood on Saturday in Brewers camp.

Green is fine, and admitted to reporters that fainting is a common thing when he gives blood or is given shots. With Mat Gamel's health looking uncertain, Green could position himself to be the Brewers' early-season starting first baseman with a strong effort this spring.

Taylor Green smashed a pinch-hit two-run homer in a losing effort against the Nationals on Saturday.

The young third-sacker has had a disappointing season, hitting just .194/.270/.357 with three homers and 14 RBI through his first 98 at-bats. He certainly made good on his only chance in this one though, launching a Christian Garcia fastball into the seats in right field.

Green will give the Brewers additional depth at third base while Aramis Ramirez recovers from a minor lower back injury. The 25-year-old has posted a weak .198/.287/.358 batting line in 44 games with Milwaukee this season and is doubtful to carry any sort of fantasy value.

Brewers optioned INF Taylor Green to Triple-A Nashville.

Green hit just .198 with two home runs and 10 RBI over 81 at-bats. Milwaukee didn't indicate a corresponding roster move, but indications are that Green will be replaced by another position player after the All-Star break.

Taylor Green hit a pinch-hit, three-run homer in Wednesday's win over the Cubs.

Green salted away a then 5-0 game with his eighth-inning bomb off of Carlos Marmol. The home run was his first in 52 at-bats this season. Although he's getting a decent amount of starts against right-handed pitching, Green is batting just .231/.323/.385, and not worth a look outside of exceptionally deep NL-only leagues.

Taylor Green will make his second straight start at first base Friday against the Cubs.

Travis Ishikawa got the first crack at replacing Mat Gamel (knee), but he's hitting just .200 (8-for-40) on the year. Green hasn't played much in the big leagues, but has shown pop and patience on the minor league level. Assuming the Brewers don't eventually sign Derrek Lee, he could end up being a sneaky pickup in NL-only formats.

Taylor Green will make his second start of the season at first base Wednesday against the Reds.

Travis Ishikawa went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts on Tuesday night and is hitting just .200 (8-for-40) on the year, so Green could garner more playing time at first base in the days ahead. Of course, it's also possible the Brewers will get desperate and sign free agent Derrek Lee.
