Conor Gillaspie went 2-for-4 with a career-high four RBI and a walk in Friday's 9-6 win over the Indians.

Gillaspie had a sacrifice fly in the third inning, an RBI single in the fifth, and a two-run double in the sixth. After beating out Matt Davidson for the starting third base job during spring training, the 26-year-old is hitting .343 (12-for-35) so far and has hit safely in all nine games this season. The hitting streak is a career-high.

Connor Gillaspie went 2-for-4 with two doubles against the Royals on Sunday.

Gillaspie scored the first run of the afternoon following a seventh-inning double against James Shields -- his second double off Shields on the day -- scoring on an Alexei Ramirez single. The third baseman, who battled with Matt Davidson for the job in spring, is batting .429 (6-for-14) on the young season.
Apr 6 - 6:08 PM

Conor Gillaspie went 2-for-4 with an RBI as the White Sox's No. 5 hitter against the Royals on Saturday.

Gillaspie, who missed a couple of days with an illness before returning Friday, was a couple of spots lower in the lineup than usual with the Royals throwing a lefty in Bruce Chen. Of course, he probably wouldn't be playing against southpaws at all if not for Jeff Keppinger opening the season on the DL.
Apr 5 - 5:22 PM

Conor Gillaspie (flu) is available to pinch-hit Thursday.

Marcus Semien will start at third base and bat second in Thursday afternoon's series-finale against the Twins. Gillaspie went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored in Chicago's Opening Day win over Minnesota on Monday but came down with the flu on Tuesday's off-day.
Apr 3 - 11:38 AM

Conor Gillaspie is not in the White Sox' lineup Wednesday due to illness.

He should be fine in a day or two. Marcus Semien is handling third base in Gillaspie's place.
Apr 2 - 11:02 AM

Conor Gillaspie went 0-for-3 with a strikeout on Friday as the White Sox were shut out by the Cubs in Cactus League play.

Gillaspie is hitting .250/.289/.556 this spring, but leads the competition for the White Sox opening day gig at third base. With Marcus Semien and Matt Davidson also as capable options, he'll need to hit in the early going if he wants to maintain his spot in the lineup.
Mar 21 - 8:40 PM

Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that Conor Gillaspie is "tightening his grip" on the White Sox' third base job.

Many assumed after the Sox traded for Matt Davidson that he would open the year as the starter at the hot corner, but he's batted just .192 this spring and looks like he needs a little more time at Triple-A. The left-handed swinging Gillaspie, who batted .245 with 13 homers and 40 RBI last season for the Pale Hose, could platoon at third base with Marcus Semien.
Mar 17 - 9:31 AM

Conor Gillaspie went 1-for-3 with a solo home run against the Indians on Tuesday.

Gillaspie took John Axford deep in the seventh inning. He will see time at third base but will only be relevant in AL-only formats.
Mar 4 - 6:53 PM

Conor Gillaspie smacked a pair of doubles in Monday's victory over the Tigers.

He finished 2-for-4 with a run scored. To put Gillaspie's day in context, consider that he'd collected only two extra-base hits between August 12 and yesterday. The third baseman is batting .251 with 12 homers and 33 RBI. He's merely an AL-only player.

Conor Gillaspie went 2-for-5 and hit a go-ahead homer in the top of the 12th as the White Sox beat the Royals 4-3 on Thursday.

The sweep in Kansas City means six straight wins for the White Sox and five straight losses for the Angels. Gillaspie's homer was his 11th, but he's hitting just .245 with 34 runs scored, 30 RBI and no steals in 327 at-bats. He could use a big finish to ensure that he remains in the White Sox's plans for 2014.

Conor Gillaspie belted a solo home run on Friday, accounting for the White Sox only run in a losing effort against the Royals.
