The move was made in order to clear room on the 40-man roster for the addition of Dan Johnson. Korecky has allowed three runs over 3 1/3 relief frames for the Jays this season. He seems likely to clear waivers.

Korecky was only up with the club for a day this time, allowing three runs over two relief innings. The Jays will call up Darin Mastroianni on Friday to replace him on the roster.

The 34-year-old spent just one day with the Jays, tossing 1 1/3 scoreless innings against the Royals on Friday, but was sent out to make room for Marcus Stroman who rejoined the team on Saturday. Korecky posted a terrific 0.32 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 32/8 K/BB ratio over 31 innings at Triple-A Buffalo, so there's a decent chance other clubs will take a chance and claim him off waivers.

Korecky earned the promotion after putting up a 0.32 ERA and 32/8 K/BB ratio over 31 relief frames at Triple-A. The 34-year-old hasn't appeared in the majors since 2012. He'll work in middle relief.
