Dustin Ackley was scratched from Saturday's Grapefruit League contest due to tightness in his quadriceps.
The injury isn't believed to be major, but it's enough for the club to not want to risk Ackley traveling on Saturday. Expect him back in the Yankees lineup at some point next week. Mar 12 - 11:17 AM

Yankees and INF/OF Dustin Ackley avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $3.2 million contract.

It's a nice little bump in salary in his second year of arbitration eligibility. Ackley hit .231/.284/.429 with 10 homers for the Mariners and Yankees last season and is in line to serve as a utility player in 2016.

Dustin Ackley went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's loss to the Red Sox.

The Yankees fell behind 6-0 after the top of the first, but Ackley capped off a four-run response in the bottom half by slugging a two-run home run. He also homered in his previous start on Sunday. Since joining the Yankees, Ackley is hitting .295/.319/.682 with four home runs and nine RBI in 47 plate appearances.

Dustin Ackley will bat sixth Tuesday against the Red Sox.

It's actually his second straight start out of the No. 6 spot, but he's earned it. Ackley is batting .324 (12-for-37) with three home runs, three doubles, and a triple since returning from the disabled list.

Dustin Ackley smacked a solo home run in Sunday's win over the White Sox.

Ackley's shot in the sixth inning proved to be the winning run in what wound up being a blowout victory for the Bombers. The former Mariner has picked things up since the trade to the Yankees, batting .300 with three homers over 18 games.

Dustin Ackley blasted a three-run homer in the sixth inning on Sunday, helping to power the Yankees to an 11-2 victory over their cross-town rival Mets.

The Yankees entered the sixth inning trailing 1-0, but broke the game open by pushing five runs across, capped off by Ackley's towering blast to right field. It was his lone hit in three at-bats in the contest, but it changed the entire complexion of the ballgame. He's now hitting .232/.281/.412 with eight homers and 25 RBI in 98 games between the Yankees and Mariners this season.

Dustin Ackley went 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit double in Friday's loss to the Mets.

Ackley's ninth-inning double was the only extra-base hit the Yankees managed in the contest. In 11 games since joining the Bombers, he's 7-for-19 with two doubles, a homer and three RBI. He should continue to see occasional work as the season closes out, but doesn't play enough for fantasy relevance.

Dustin Ackley went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run and a sacrifice fly as the Yankees shut the Blue Jays out on Sunday.

Ackley opened the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the second inning, then doubled the Yankees' lead to 4-0 with a two-run home run in the fourth off of R.A. Dickey. The home run and RBIs were his first with the Yankees in his seventh game with the club after coming over ahead of the trade deadline. On the season, Ackley is batting .220/.273/.380 with seven home runs and 22 RBI.

Yankees activated INF/OF Dustin Ackley from the 15-day disabled list.

Ackley was acquired from the Mariners at the trade deadline, but he appeared in just two games prior to going down with a right lumbar strain about a month ago. He'll function in a utility role down the stretch.

Dustin Ackley (back) is expected to begin a minor league rehab assignment Thursday with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Ackley appeared in just two games with the Yankees prior to going down with a right lumbar strain earlier this month. He should be back as a bench player in September.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Tuesday that Dustin Ackley (back) is expected to miss 20-30 days.

Ackley, who was acquired from the Mariners last week, was placed on the disabled list Tuesday with a right lumbar strain. He was healthy at the time of the trade, so the Yankees have no dispute with the Mariners. Still, it's a tough break. Cashman says that surgery could be an issue if he doesn't show improvement.

Yankees placed OF/INF Dustin Ackley on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to August 3, with a right lumbar strain.

Ackley was acquired from the Mariners last week and was a potential threat for playing time at second base, but that will have to wait for now. The Yankees called up right-hander Caleb Cotham to take his place on the active roster.

Yankees acquired OF/INF Dustin Ackley from the Mariners for OF Ramon Flores and RHP Jose Ramirez.

The Mariners selected Ackley with the No. 2 overall pick in 2009, but things never quite came together for him in Seattle, as he produced a disappointing .243/.306/.366 batting line over 584 games. The Yankees will have to hope that the change of scenery will make a difference for him. He could be a possibility to get some looks at second base over Stephen Drew.

Jack Curry of YES Network reports that the Yankees are set to acquire Dustin Ackley from the Mariners.

Ramon Flores and Jose Ramirez will be going back to Seattle. Ackley, 27, is batting just .215/.270/.366 with six home runs and 19 RBI over 207 plate appearances this season. While he's another option for second base, he has mostly played in the outfield in 2015.

Dustin Ackley walked and homered in four plate appearances in the Mariners' 10-inning loss to the Dodgers on Monday.

Ackley clubbed a solo home run off of Brandon McCarthy in the fifth inning, one of the four homers the right-hander allowed to the Mariners' offense. Ackley is up to three home runs on the season along with a .353 average in 17 at-bats. Despite the hot start, Ackley has limited fantasy appeal since he doesn't do much other than hit for modest power and he's sharing left field playing time with Rickie Weeks.
