Nov 4 - 1:45 PM

Yankees transferred 1B/OF Dustin Ackley (shoulder) to the 60-day disabled list.

Ackley will miss the rest of the year after undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum. With Ackley and Mark Teixeira (knee) both sidelined, the Yankees are scrambling to find a first baseman. Chris Parmelee was called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday but he's only a short-term fix.
Jun 4 - 10:15 AM

Dustin Ackley will undergo season-ending surgery to repair the torn labrum in his right shoulder.

Ackley suffered the torn labrum (and a shoulder dislocation) on a slide Sunday against the Rays. He'll finish up 2016 with a .148 batting average and .390 OPS in 28 games. The 28-year-old is a definite non-tender candidate.
May 31 - 5:26 PM

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said Monday that Dustin Ackley (shoulder) could require surgery.

Ackley, who was placed on the disabled list Monday, was diagnosed with a torn labrum in his right shoulder. Either way, he's facing a lengthy absence. There should be more clarity on his status in the coming days.
May 30 - 5:26 PM

Yankees placed INF/OF Dustin Ackley on the 15-day disabled list with a dislocated shoulder.

Ackley hurt himself on a slide Sunday against the Rays. It's not clear how long he might be out, but it figures to be more than 15 days. Rob Refsnyder has been called up in a corresponding 25-man roster move.

Dustin Ackley was removed from Sunday's game against the Rays with a shoulder injury.

Ackley suffered the injury while sliding. He's heading for an MRI and could be looking at a possible stint on the disabled list. Expect an update from the Yankees on his status after learning the MRI results.
May 29 - 4:19 PM

Dustin Ackley was scratched from Saturday's Grapefruit League contest due to tightness in his quadriceps.

The injury isn't believed to be major, but it's enough for the club to not want to risk Ackley traveling on Saturday. Expect him back in the Yankees lineup at some point next week.
Mar 12 - 11:17 AM

Yankees and INF/OF Dustin Ackley avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $3.2 million contract.

It's a nice little bump in salary in his second year of arbitration eligibility. Ackley hit .231/.284/.429 with 10 homers for the Mariners and Yankees last season and is in line to serve as a utility player in 2016.
Jan 15 - 3:04 PM

Dustin Ackley blasted a three-run homer in the sixth inning on Sunday, helping to power the Yankees to an 11-2 victory over their cross-town rival Mets.

The Yankees entered the sixth inning trailing 1-0, but broke the game open by pushing five runs across, capped off by Ackley's towering blast to right field. It was his lone hit in three at-bats in the contest, but it changed the entire complexion of the ballgame.
