Dustin Ackley slugged a three-run homer Saturday in the Mariners' 7-3 defeat of the Red Sox.

The big fly capped off a seven-run fourth inning for the M's, who are season-best 12 games above .500. Ackley has been hitting pretty well in August but still owns a weak .252/.303/.390 overall slash line in 2014.
Aug 23 - 5:28 PM

Dustin Ackley (back) went 1-for-4 with a go-ahead two-run single, a walk, and a run scored Friday against the Red Sox.

Ackley didn't start Wednesday due to a sore back, but he appeared as a pinch-hitter in the game and was good to go following Thursday's off-day. It shouldn't be an issue moving forward.
Aug 23 - 4:19 AM

Dustin Ackley is not in Wednesday's lineup due to a sore back.

It's not a big issue, but the Mariners are hoping rest Wednesday combined with Thursday's off day will allow Ackley to return to action Friday. Chris Denorfia is in left field in his place Wednesday.
Aug 20 - 11:39 AM

Dustin Ackley singled, doubled twice, and drove in a run, but it wasn't enough as the Mariners lost to the Phillies on Monday.

Ackley was the extent of the Mariners' offense against Jerome Williams, and he was only able to help the Mariners score their first run in the eighth on a double to left field -- when it was too little, too late. Ackley had been slumping badly following a scorching return from the All-Star break. On the season, he's slashing .247/.293/.375 with eight home runs and 47 RBI.
Aug 18 - 10:10 PM

Dustin Ackley went 2-for-4 with a walk, homer, four RBI and two runs scored as the Mariners defeated the White Sox on Thursday.

Ackley came into the game hitting .400 over his last nine games at Safeco and continued the prosperity. He's been white-hot since last month, slashing .365/.386/.506 in July and following it up with three multi-hit games out of six in August. Ackley has homered in four of his last seven games. The 26-year-old should be deployed in mixed leagues while he's locked in like this.
Aug 8 - 1:28 AM

Dustin Ackley went 3-for-5 with a solo home run on Saturday.

Ackley doubled, homered and scored three runs. It was a nice overall game for the 26-year old. Ackley hit the home run in the third off of Miguel Gonzalez. The homer, his sixth of the year, put him up to 38 RBI. On the year he's hitting .258/.305/.389.
Aug 2 - 11:32 PM

Dustin Ackley walked and hit a two-run home run in five trips to the plate as the Mariners narrowly edged out the Indians on Thursday.

The All-Star break seems to have reinvigorated Ackley, as he has been on a tear in the 13 games since. He took Zach McAllister deep for a two-run blast in the third inning, only the fifth time Ackley has gone yard this season. The outfielder has a .253/.301/.375 with 36 RBI on the season.
Jul 31 - 10:55 PM

Dustin Ackley went 3-for-5 with a two-run double as the Mariners defeated the Indians on Tuesday.

Ackley drove in the middle two runs in a four-run fourth inning, doubling to right field off of Trevor Bauer. The 26-year-old has been red-hot since returning from the break, as he holds a .444 average (20-for-45) in 11 games since. The Mariners hope it's a sign of things to come, as Ackley's numbers overall aren't too great -- he has a .256/.303/.372 slash line with four home runs and 34 RBI.
Jul 29 - 11:03 PM

Dustin Ackley will bat leadoff Tuesday against the Indians.

This is his first start out of the leadoff spot this season. The struggling James Jones has been dropped down to ninth in the order.
Jul 29 - 2:22 PM

Dustin Ackley had a monster game in Monday's 5-2 win over the Mets, going 3-for-4 at the dish and robbing a homer in the field.

Ackley's heroics improved Seattle to 53-46, 2 1/2 games up for the second Wild Card slot in the American League. The outfielder had two singles and an RBI double, but his most impressive display came in stealing Travis d'Arnaud's sixth inning would-be-homer. Ackley started heating up right when we started hearing his name in trade rumors; he's batting .360 (18-for-50) in July.
Jul 22 - 1:12 AM

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that "a lot of teams" have asked the Mariners about Dustin Ackley.

Ackley has hit only .242/.310/.351 across parts of four seasons in the majors, but many still feel that the former top prospect has untapped potential. He wouldn't be the headliner in any deal, but Ackley could turn out to be a nice buy low opportunity as a secondary piece.
Jul 18 - 3:01 PM

Dustin Ackley went 2-for-4 in Sunday's loss to the White Sox.

After a long hitless streak at the end of June, Ackley is 8-for-17 with two doubles through the first week of July. The outfielder is batting just .231/.287/.346 overall this year.
Jul 6 - 7:02 PM

Dustin Ackley delivered a pinch-hit go-ahead single in a 2-1 win over the Royals on Saturday.

After Jason Vargas retired the first two batters in the top of the ninth inning, Kyle Seager doubled and Stefen Romero reached on an infield single. Ackley then brought Seager home with a single to right field. It was a big moment for the 26-year-old, who came into Saturday's action with a .204 batting average this month. The Mariners have now rallied in the ninth inning in back-to-back days while the Royals have lost three straight.
Jun 21 - 5:07 PM

Dustin Ackley went 2-for-4 with an RBI single in Sunday's win over the Rangers.

Ackley doubled in the second inning and delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth. The former No. 2 overall pick is batting just .235/.286/.368 and remains a disappointing option for fantasy purposes.
