Bergesen posted a decent 3.64 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 29 2/3 innings this past season for the Snakes. The 27-year-old right-hander should find a new club easily.

The move, which isn't official yet, was first reported by Baseball Prospectus' Kevin Goldstein. Bergesen was up with the O's briefly earlier this week but didn't make an appearance. It's not clear whether the D'Backs will add him to the major league roster or put him at Triple-A.

Orioles purchased the contract of RHP Brad Bergesen from Triple-A Norfolk.

The move was made to create room on the 40-man roster for veteran infielder Bill Hall, who was recalled on Saturday. Orioles optioned RHP Brad Bergesen to Triple-A Norfolk.

Bergesen had a 3.75 ERA over 12 innings this spring, but the Orioles would like him to serve as rotation insurance in the minors. The 26-year-old right-hander posted an ugly 5.70 ERA over 101 innings with Baltimore last season.

The Orioles and Brad Bergesen had an arbitration hearing scheduled for Wednesday morning.

Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun hasn't heard anything about a resolution, so the assumption is that the hearing took place as scheduled. Bergesen filed for $1.2 million and was offered $800,000 from the Orioles when salary figures were exchanged last month. The three-person panel of arbitrators will choose one salary or the other within the next day or so.
