According to Thomas Harding of MLB.com, the Rockies are interested in free agent left-hander Daniel Schlereth.

Schlereth, recently non-tendered by the Tigers, was limited to six appearances in 2012 because of shoulder tendinitis. While he owns a live arm, he's always battled bouts of wildness, owning a career 1.57 WHIP and 91/61 K/BB ratio over 93 total major-league innings.

The Tigers will not tender Daniel Schlereth a contract.

It's surprising given that Schlereth wasn't eligible for salary arbitration, but they must be really concerned about his shoulder. Schlereth missed most of 2012 while dealing with shoulder tendinitis and posted a 10.29 ERA in seven innings when he was healthy.

Daniel Schlereth (shoulder) tossed a scoreless rehab inning on Saturday at High-A Lakeland.

Schlereth has been on the disabled list since lat April with tendinitis in his throwing shoulder and is likely to spend close to two weeks pitching in minor league rehab games. The right-hander had a 10.29 ERA in seven innings this season before hitting the shelf.

Daniel Schlereth (shoulder) has resumed throwing bullpen sessions.

Schlereth was placed on the disabled list in late April due to left shoulder tendinitis. The southpaw was given the option of surgery to repair damage, but it appears that therapy has done the job. There's no timetable for his return, though.

Daniel Schlereth (shoulder) has begun long-tossing.

"He's throwing now to 120 feet," Tigers head trainer Kevin Rand said Wednesday. "We're getting close to the point where he'd be ready to resume a mound progression. At that point, we'll reassess him." Schlereth has been on the shelf since late April due to left shoulder tendinitis.

Tigers transferred LHP Daniel Schlereth (shoulder) from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

It's just a procedural move, as the Tigers needed a spot for Matt Young on the 40-man roster. Either Andy Dirks (Achilles) will be placed on the disabled list, or Don Kelly will be sent down to offset Young's promotion.

AN MRI taken Wednesday on Daniel Schlereth's ailing left shoulder showed no structural damage.

Good news. Schlereth is already performing range of motion exercises and should soon be cleared to resume throwing. He's been on the disabled list since late April.

Daniel Schlereth will be examined by Dr. Tom Noonan in Colorado after pain in his left shoulder forced him to cut short a bullpen session last Friday.

Schlereth was placed on the DL a week ago due to shoulder tendinitis, but the Tigers want to see if anything else is going on. "It was supposed to have been a 30-pitch bullpen session," Tigers head trainer Kevin Rand said. "It was cut at 15. Dr. Noonan's going to give a follow-up exam and offer a second opinion." We'll update Schlereth's status when more is known.

Tigers placed LHP Daniel Schlereth on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 21, with left shoulder tendinitis.

Schlereth was previously sent down to the minors in late April, but the option was voided due to the injury. The timetable for his return isn't yet known.

Tigers optioned LHP Daniel Schlereth to Triple-A Toledo.

This doesn't come as a surprise, as it had been speculated for the past few days. Schlereth surrendering another home run to Mike Napoli on Saturday certainly didn't help his cause though. Thad Weber will take his place in the Tigers bullpen.

Daniel Schlereth is expected to be optioned to Triple-A Friday.

No surprise here, as Schlereth has struggled mightily in the early going, posting a 12.60 ERA and 3.20 WHIP in his first five appearances. Brayan Villarreal is an option to replace him in the bullpen.

Tigers recalled LHP Daniel Schlereth from Triple-A Toledo.

The southpaw posted a 4.91 ERA and 1.60 WHIP in 29 total appearances earlier this season for the Tigers but has been fantastic since his demotion to Toledo, putting up a 0.77 ERA and 18/5 K/BB ratio over 11 2/3 frames. He'll likely work in middle relief.

Tigers optioned LHP Daniel Schlereth to Triple-A Toledo.

The 25-year-old southpaw got off to a nice start earlier this season but will head to the minors having posted a 4.91 ERA and 1.60 WHIP in 29 total appearances.

Daniel Schlereth allowed two hits and a run without registering an out Wednesday against the Twins.

The poor relief outing nearly led to a heroic late comeback by the Twins, but the Tigers' offense eventually squashed that effort. Schlereth has been pretty steady in middle relief for Detroit this season and should be able to shake off Wednesday's miscues. He's currently rocking a 2.57 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 14 total innings.
