Date:

Brad Mills is expected to be designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

The move will clear a spot for top prospect Aaron Sanchez, who is expected to join the team's bullpen. Mills was rocked for eight runs over two innings Monday night against the Red Sox.
Jul 22 - 2:34 PM

Making his Blue Jays debut, Brad Mills was pummeled for eight runs in two innings of relief by the Red Sox on Monday.

Mills had two quality starts in three tries for the A's before the Jeff Samardzija-Jason Hammel deal made him expendable; his one failure in that span was also against Boston. The Blue Jays merely paid the waiver price to bring him in last week, so one or two more bad outings and he'll likely be sent packing again.
Jul 21 - 10:01 PM

Blue Jays claimed LHP Brad Mills off waivers from the Athletics.

Mills was designated for assignment by Oakland earlier this month. The 29-year-old left-hander had a 4.41 ERA and 1.59 WHIP in 16 1/3 innings with the A's, but he could eventually see some starts in Toronto.
Jul 17 - 1:21 PM

Athletics designated LHP Brad Mills for assignment.

Mills, who was acquired from the Brewers for one dollar last month, posted a 4.41 ERA over three starts during his brief stay with the Athletics. He's not needed now that the A's have added Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel to the fold.
Jul 7 - 4:39 PM

Brad Mills fell to 1-1, allowing three runs over six innings in Tuesday's loss to the Tigers.

Make that back-to-back quality starts for the lefty, recently acquired from the Brewers for a buck. He allowed six hits -- including a two-run home run to J.D. Martinez -- while walking three and striking out six. Mills now has a 4.41 ERA, a 1.59 WHIP, and a 14/7 K/BB ratio over 16 1/3 innings. He'll go up against the Blue Jays at home when he takes his next turn in the rotation.
Jul 1 - 9:28 PM

Brad Mills earned his first win of the season, allowing three runs over 6 1/3 innings as the Athletics defeated the Mets 8-5 on Wednesday.

The one-dollar man shut the Mets out through six innings, relenting three runs only to his final batter. Lucas Duda pinch-hit with one out in the seventh and belted a three-run home run to right-center to end Mills' night. Overall, the lefty allowed nine hits, didn't issue a walk, and struck out four. Mills will go up against the Tigers in his next start.
Jun 25 - 10:54 PM

Athletics manager Bob Melvin said Saturday that Brad Mills will remain in the starting rotation for now.

Mills, who was acquired from the Brewers for one dollar earlier this week, allowed three runs (two earned) in four innings against the Red Sox on Friday. However, the shaky outing won't change the team's plan. The soft-tossing lefty isn't worth considering outside of AL-only leagues.
Jun 21 - 2:40 PM

Brad Mills yielded three runs -- two earned -- in four innings Friday against the Red Sox in his A's debut.

Mills was unlucky that Nick Punto botched one of the most routine double-play balls in the second, getting no outs and setting the Red Sox up for two-run inning. But that's not to say he deserved better than his line. Mills gave up four hits and walked four in his four innings. A better offense would have made things more difficult for him. We expected him to have some value in AL-only leagues while in the Oakland rotation, but we're more skeptical now.
Jun 21 - 1:49 AM

Athletics purchased the contract of LHP Brad Mills from Triple-A Sacramento.

Acquired via trade earlier this week from the Brewers, Mills will make his first start for the A's on Friday against the Red Sox. He's taking the rotation spot of the injured Drew Pomeranz (hand). Mills has held a 1.56 ERA and 77/18 K/BB ratio in 75 innings at the Triple-A level this season.
Jun 20 - 2:39 PM

Brad Mills will start on Friday versus the Red Sox.

Jesse Chavez will be pushed back a day to start Saturday. Acquired this week in a trade with the Brewers, Mills has put up a 1.56 ERA and 77/18 K/BB ratio in 75 innings at the Triple-A level. Although the 29-year-old doesn't have a good major league track record (7.76 ERA), he's a tempting play for starts at O.co Coliseum.
Jun 19 - 7:07 PM

Athletics acquired LHP Brad Mills from the Brewers from cash considerations.

Mills, 29, owns a 1.56 ERA and 77/18 K/BB ratio in 75 innings in 12 starts and two relief appearances in Triple-A this year. He's an interesting flier for Oakland.
Jun 17 - 2:20 PM

Brewers signed LHP Brad Mills to a minor league contract.

Mills spent the second half of the 2013 season playing for Nippon Professional Baseball's Orix Buffaloes. The lefty owns a 7.76 career ERA in the major leagues and probably won't be given much of a shot with Milwaukee.
Jan 9 - 3:04 PM

Brad Mills has signed with the Orix Buffaloes.

That information comes courtesy of MLB Trade Rumors' Tim Dierkes. Mills had a 3.87 ERA and 1.24 WHIP over his first 97 2/3 innings this season with Triple-A Round Rock and parlayed that into a nice contract in Japan.
Thu, Jul 18, 2013 12:22:00 PM

Chris Cotillo of MLBDailyDish.com reports that Brad Mills has signed with a Japanese club.

It's not clear who he has signed with, but Mills' days in the Rangers' organization, at least for now, are over. Mills has posted a 3.87 ERA and 1.24 WHIP over 97 2/3 innings at Triple-A Round Rock this season.
