Diamondbacks released RHP Eddie Bonine.

Bonine signed a split contract with the Diamondbacks this offseason, so they only ended up having to pay him a minor league salary. He posted a 6.30 ERA in four appearances with Triple-A Reno. Bonine will look to reestablish himself with another team after missing all of 2012 due to Tommy John surgery.

Diamondbacks signed RHP Eddie Bonine to a split contract.

He'll make $500,000 if he earns an Opening Day roster spot. Bonine missed all of 2012 while recovering from Tommy John surgery. He most recently posted a 5.16 ERA and 44/8 K/BB ratio over 45 1/3 innings in 2011 for the Phillies' Triple-A affiliate.

Phillies signed RHP Eddie Bonine to a minor-league contract.

He received an invite to Spring Training as part of the pact. Bonine was 4-1 with a 4.63 ERA and 26/22 K/BB ratio over 68 innings in 47 appearances as a rookie with the Tigers this past year. The 29-year-old right-hander elected to become a free agent after being outrighted to Triple-A Toledo last week. Bonine will attempt to make the Phillies out of camp as a mediocre long relief innings eater who can spot start.

The Phillies are interested in signing Eddie Bonine to a minor league deal, according to FOXSports.com's Jon Paul Morosi.

The Tigers would also like to bring back Bonine on a minor league contract. He's certainly nothing special, but he can eat innings in middle relief and spot start when necessary.

Eddie Bonine has elected to become a free agent.

Bonine had the right to declare free agency after being outrighted to Triple-A Toledo on Thursday. The 29-year-old right-hander had a mediocre 4.63 ERA and 26/22 K/BB ratio over 68 innings this season.

Eddie Bonine left Sunday's game with a cramp underneath his rib cage, but expects to be fine.

"I threw a pitch and it kind of knotted up on me," Bonine said. "I've never cramped up underneath my rib before, so I don't really know what that was. I just cramped up and I just needed to take a big breath, and I was fine." It doesn't appear as though he will miss any time.

Eddie Bonine pitched one-hit ball over four scoreless innings Thursday in his start versus the Braves.

With Nate Robertson gone, Bonine is currently the Tigers' sixth starter, meaning he'll probably get the call if someone gets hurt this month. The alternative would be Armando Galarraga.

Eddie Bonine yielded two runs over five innings in a 7-2 win over the Twins on Wednesday night, as the Tigers pushed their lead in the AL Central to three games.

Bonine earned his first win of the season, scattering six hits while walking two and striking out three. He induced nine groundballs in the win, including a key double play in the first, snuffing out a rally. The 28-year-old right-hander has a 4.46 ERA and 1.51 WHIP over 10 appearances (four starts) this season. The Tigers now find themselves three games in front with four to go.

Eddie Bonine allowed just unearned two runs over 6 2/3 innings against the White Sox on Friday night, but took a tough-luck 2-0 loss.

He actually had a no-hitter going until Gordon Beckham broke it up with a two-run homer in the sixth. Both runs were unearned due to an error by Brandon Inge. Bonine went on to allow just two hits against three strikeouts and four walks, taking his first loss of the season. Bonine has allowed six earned runs over three starts this season. He'll likely get the hard-charging second-place Twins next week.

Eddie Bonine will receive three more starts down the stretch with Armando Galarraga and Nate Robertson relegated to the bullpen.

Manager Jim Leyland said he chose Bonine out of the three because he won't have to worry about juggling the rotation to accommodate Robertson and Galarraga's injuries. This may be true, but Bonine and his 6.11 ERA (4.41 in Triple-A) are hardly worthy of the trust Leyland is placing in him.

Eddie Bonine is scheduled to start Wednesday against the Royals.

It's not often we see a playoff-bound team reverting to a mop-up man for a start, but Nate Robertson's pelvic inflammation has complicated things in Detroit. Bonine should be avoid in all leagues. He has a 6.11 ERA in seven appearances with the Tigers and was 4-5 with a 4.41 ERA in 102 innings at Triple-A Toledo.

Tigers recalled RHP Eddie Bonine from Triple-A Toledo.

Bonine holds a disappointing 7.07 ERA in five appearances (one start) with Detroit this year. He'll be used as a long reliever or mop-up man.

Tigers optioned RHP Eddie Bonine to Triple-A Toledo.

Bonine was cleared in order to make room for the newly-acquired Aubrey Huff. Bonine hasn't been used since being recalled last Thursday. He had a 7.07 ERA in five appearances (one start) with the Tigers this season.

Tigers recalled RHP Eddie Bonine from Triple-A Toledo.

He had a 7.07 ERA in 14 innings over a pair of stints with the team earlier this season. So long as Armando Galarraga is healthy enough to make his next start, Bonine will be slotted into a long relief role. Galarraga is questionable for his start on Sunday. If he can't go, Bonine could start on Friday or Zach Miner could fill in on Sunday.
