Rays signed RHP Evan Scribner to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Scribner battled a flexor bundle strain in his right elbow last season and logged just 11 1/3 innings between the minors and majors. He also had arm troubles in 2016 and made only 12 appearances at the major league level. The 32-year-old reliever will try to resuscitate his career with Tampa Bay. He can earn an $800,000 salary if he makes the Rays' roster out of camp.

Evan Scribner (elbow) threw a scoreless inning Sunday in his rehab debut with the Mariners' team in the rookie-level Arizona League.

Scribner has been on the disabled list since late April because of a flexor bundle strain in his right elbow. If everything goes smoothly from here, the right-hander should be able to join the Mariners' bullpen for the final few weeks of the regular season.

Mariners transferred RHP Evan Scribner from the 10-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

The move clears a 40-man roster spot for right-hander Casey Lawrence, who was claimed off waivers from the Blue Jays on Thursday afternoon. Scribner remains out indefinitely with a flexor bundle strain in his right elbow.

Evan Scribner (lat) has moved his rehab assignment from the Arizona League to Double-A Jackson.

Scribner was lit up for four earned runs while recording only two outs in his final appearance in the Arizona League, but the Mariners are more worried about his health than the results at this point. Evan Scribner (back) is not expected to be ready to return before the end of April.

Evan Scribner and Ryan Cook have both been diagnosed with lat strains.

Neither of them are throwing right now and both are expected to open the year on the disabled list. Scribner had a rocky year out of the Athletics' bullpen last season, posting a 4.35 ERA over 60 innings. He probably won't become an option for the M's until mid-April.
