Evan Scribner (lat) has moved his rehab assignment from the Arizona League to Double-A Jackson.

Scribner was lit up for four earned runs while recording only two outs in his final appearance in the Arizona League, but the Mariners are more worried about his health than the results at this point. The right-hander has been out all season with a severe lat strain. He'll probably remain in the minors until September.
Aug 15 - 1:34 PM

Mariners transferred RHP Evan Scribner to the 60-day disabled list.

Scribner is recovering from a right lat strain and has been on the disabled list since spring training. He's expected to be ready to rejoin the M's bullpen at some point in June.
May 29 - 4:37 PM

Mariners placed RHP Evan Scribner on the 15-day disabled list with a right lat strain.

Scribner has dealt with a strained lat all spring. He's expected to be sidelined at least until May.
Apr 3 - 11:15 AM

Evan Scribner (back) is not expected to be ready to return before the end of April.

Scribner has been nursing a strained lat muscle all month and isn't recovering as quickly as hoped. The 30-year-old was a lock to make the Mariners' Opening Day bullpen, but now it appears he'll miss at least the first month of the season.
Mar 20 - 3:25 PM

Evan Scribner and Ryan Cook have both been diagnosed with lat strains.

Neither of them are throwing right now and both are expected to open the year on the disabled list. Scribner had a rocky year out of the Athletics' bullpen last season, posting a 4.35 ERA over 60 innings. He probably won't become an option for the M's until mid-April.
Mar 9 - 10:33 AM

Mariners manager Scott Servais said Monday that Evan Scribner is being slowed by a sore back.

Ryan Cook has a similar issue, but it sounds like nothing more than routine spring soreness in both cases. Scribner, 30, posted a 4.35 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, and 64/4 K/BB ratio in 54 appearances last season for the A's. Seattle acquired him via trade in early December.
Mar 7 - 10:18 AM

Mariners and RHP Evan Scribner avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $807,500 contract.

The deal was reported yesterday with Dutton now adding the financial component. The 30-year-old hurler posted a 4.35 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 64/4 K/BB ratio over 60 innings in his final season with the Athletics in 2015.
Jan 16 - 10:58 AM

Mariners acquired RHP Evan Scribner from the Athletics in exchange for RHP Trey Cochran-Gill.

Scribner holds a nice 134/27 K/BB ratio over 147 2/3 relief innings in his career, but he's allowed a lot of homers and holds a 4.21 ERA. He'll work in middle relief for the Mariners.

Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports that the Mariners are close to acquiring Evan Scribner from the Athletics.

It's unclear at this point what they'd be giving up in return. Scribner holds a nice 134/27 K/BB ratio over 147 2/3 relief innings in his career, but he's really had trouble with the longball, allowing 18 in 71 2/3 frames over the last two years. The 30-year-old is arbitration-eligible for the first time this winter as a Super 2 player.

Athletics activated RHP Evan Scribner from the 60-day disabled list.

He's now back on the 40-man roster. Scribner tore a late muscle in late August but the A's expect him to the ready for spring training.

Athletics placed RHP Evan Scribner on the 60-day disabled list with a torn right lat muscle.

Scribner had an MRI last week that revealed the tear and will miss the remainder of the 2016 season. He's expected to be fully recovered and ready to go for spring training.

Evan Scribner is done for the season after being diagnosed with a torn right lat muscle.

The feeling had been that he had a scapula issue, and an MRI apparently revealed the lat tear. There's no word on whether Scribner might need surgery.
Wed, Sep 2, 2015 02:09:00 PM

Evan Scribner is expected to be unavailable for at least a few days due to a scapula issue in his right shoulder.

Scribner hurt the shoulder during an appearance on Monday. The A's will be careful with him this month since they have extra relievers available.
Tue, Sep 1, 2015 07:15:00 PM

Evan Scribner gave up two homers in two innings of relief Friday against the Mariners.

The home run ball is Scribner's bugaboo, and while he's one candidate to step in as Oakland's closer once Tyler Clippard is traded, those flyball tendencies might cause Edward Mujica to get the job instead. Scribner has given up nine homers this year, which is why his ERA stands at 3.64 despite a crazy 44/3 K/BB ratio in 42 innings.
