Minor league infielder-outfielder Austin Gallagher was suspended 50 games for testing positive for Methylhexaneamine.

Gallagher, 24, was released by the Dodgers last week after hitting .283/.383/.481 with 15 homers and an .864 OPS in his third straight season in High-A ball. His suspension will begin once he latches on with a new organization.

Austin Gallagher went 3-for-4 with a double and three walks as low Single-A Great Lakes scored 18 runs on Saturday.

That puts him at .321/.391/.420 through 81 at-bats. Gallagher hit .293/.349/.456 as a 19-year-old in high-A ball last year, so it was stunning to see him demoted to low-A to begin this year. Even worse, he's now playing first base after originally being groomed as a third baseman. His line-drive stroke shows plenty of promise, but the position change and the bizarre handling has sent his stock sliding.
