Robbie Grossman went 1-for-3 and drove home a pair of runs as the Twins topped the Tigers on Friday.
Grossman's two-run single in the sixth inning got the Twins on the board and started a six-run rally after Justin Verlander had walked the first three batters in the inning. He continues to be a pleasant surprise for the Twins, slashing .310/.473/.476 with seven RBI on the season. Apr 21 - 11:26 PM

Robbie Grossman had a two-run homer, two walks and three runs scored Thursday against the Tigers.

Grossman, picked over ByungHo Park at the end of the spring, is off to a fine start as the Twins' DH, going 6-for-21 with six walks in seven games. Of course, there was nothing stopping the Twins from using both Grossman and Park, with Grossman playing left field and Park occasionally filling in at first base. Still, things are working out so far.

Robbie Grossman is not in the Twins' lineup Thursday.

Manager Paul Molitor is going with Eddie Rosario in the designated hitter spot and Danny Santana in left field. Grossman is hitless in his first six at-bats this season but has drawn three walks.
Apr 6 - 10:34 AM

Twins manager Paul Molitor expressed confidence that Robbie Grossman (groin) will be ready for Opening Day.

Grossman has been working his way back from a groin injury suffered in mid-March. He went through a full workout on Monday and will serve as designated hitter in Grapefruit League action on Thursday. Unless word surfaces to the contrary, he should be available when the Twins take on the Royals in their regular-season opener on Monday.
Mar 29 - 4:17 PM

Robbie Grossman (groin) went through a full workout Monday in Twins camp.

Grossman has been kept out of Grapefruit League action for over a week because of a groin injury, but he took batting practice Sunday and added more baseball activities to his plate on Monday. The switch-hitting backup outfielder should be ready for Opening Day.
Mar 27 - 2:41 PM

Robbie Grossman (groin) took batting practice Sunday.

He could return to game action within the next couple days. Grossman has missed the last week of action with a groin injury but has enough time to get ready for Opening Day if he can avoid a setback.
Mar 26 - 12:36 PM

Robbie Grossman (groin) could return to the Twins' lineup on Monday or Tuesday.

Grossman has been sidelined for the past week while nursing groin tightness but seems to be feeling much better. Barring a setback, he'll be fine for Opening Day. The 27-year-old is in line to be the Twins' fourth outfielder.
Mar 25 - 7:31 PM

Robbie Grossman (groin) is expected to be sidelined for the next 5-7 days.

Grossman was removed from Sunday's Grapefruit League game after experiencing tightness in his groin. It's not a strain, so he should be fine for the opening of the 2017 regular season as long as he can avoid setbacks.
Mar 20 - 12:10 PM

Robbie Grossman was lifted from Sunday's game with tightness in his right groin.

The Twins should have more on Grossman's status after the game. If healthy, he's in line to serve as an extra outfielder this season.
Mar 19 - 2:30 PM

Robbie Grossman hit his 11th home run of the season in a loss to the Tigers on Tuesday.

Grossman was the only Twins hitter able to get to Tigers starter Matt Boyd on the evening, as the southpaw allowed just three hits in his eight innings of work. After a strong start to the year, the 27-year-old hit a lull in August but is back in a big way in September, going 11-for-28 (.392) with two homers this month. He's hitting .280/.388/.459 with 11 homers, 36 RBI and 46 runs scored on the year, and could be playing himself into the 2017 conversation with a good finish.

Robbie Grossman finished 4-for-4 Sunday against the Mets.

Grossman is mostly playing against lefties right now, but since the Twins haven't faced any in a while, he got the nod against a righty today in his first start in four days. After fading in July, he's hit well in his limited action of late, and he's back up to .280 with an .835 OPS in 293 at-bats.

Robbie Grossman went 3-for-4 with a homer and a double Wednesday in his return to the starting lineup.

Grossman hadn't started a game since Aug. 28 because of a mild oblique strain. He'll likely play primarily against lefties the rest of the way.

Robbie Grossman (oblique) came off the bench Monday against the Royals and was hit by a pitch in his lone plate appearance.

Grossman entered as a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning and finished the game in left field. The 26-year-old suffered an oblique strain late last month, but he's apparently making quick progress.
Tue, Sep 6, 2016 09:19:00 AM

Robbie Grossman (oblique) entered as a pinch-runner on Sunday against the White Sox.

That should be a sign that his return is close. Grossman had been held on the bench for the Twins since August 29 due to a strained oblique -- an injury that can sometimes take weeks to fully recover from.

Robbie Grossman (oblique) took swings off a tee Friday and said he's "progressing."

Grossman has battled a strained oblique this week. It's unclear when he might be available, but the Twins can play it safe with expanded rosters.
