Aug 5 - 11:00 AM

Steve Tolleson came through with a two-run single in the ninth inning on Friday, leading the Blue Jays to an 8-5 victory over the Rays in Tampa Bay.

Tolleson’s run-scoring knock off Grant Balfour broke a 5-5 tie. He entered the game late after Munenori Kawasaki departed with a hamstring injury, and he certainly made the most of his only at-bat. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him in Saturday’s starting lineup after his heroics on Friday.

Steve Tolleson (ankle) hit a pinch-hit home run in the Blue Jays' loss to the A's on Sunday.

It was a ninth-inning solo jack off A's closer Sean Doolittle -- only the fourth homer that Doolittle had allowed this season. Tolleson has been dealing with a tweaked ankle but should get some starts this week.
Jul 7 - 8:29 AM

Steve Tolleson rolled his ankle before Friday's game against the Athletics.

Munenori Kawasaki will get the start at second base versus the A's on Saturday night and Juan Francisco is at third. Tolleson has a .237/.317/.409 batting line on the season. It's not clear how long he'll be out.

Steve Tolleson (eye) will see a cornea specialist on Thursday.

Tolleson has been dealing with "blurry" vision for the past three days, and he'll visit the specialist in hopes of figuring out why. It's worth noting that he had Lasik eye surgery in 2009, so it's not the first time he's had issues with his eyes. More should be known after Thursday's visit.
Jun 25 - 11:20 PM

Steve Tolleson hit his second homer in four days before coming out for a pinch-hitter Monday against the Rays.

It's nice to see the 30-year-old Tolleson getting a real shot and capitalizing on it after several strong seasons in the minors. Second base in Toronto is up for grabs, so he has some value in AL-only leagues right now.
May 26 - 11:34 PM

Steve Tolleson clubbed a two-run homer Friday in a win over the Athletics.

It was his first home run of the season and the fourth of his career. Tolleson is batting .275/.341/.550 with seven extra-base hits and four RBI in 17 games since coming up from Triple-A Buffalo earlier this month. It's unlikely to last, but he has provided a nice boost for Toronto.
May 23 - 9:56 PM

Blue Jays purchased the contract of INF Steve Tolleson from Triple-A Buffalo.

Tolleson was batting just .236/.345/.333 in 84 plate appearances this season at the Triple-A level but the Jays are hoping he'll be an upgrade over Jonathan Diaz, who was optioned to the minors in a corresponding move. Tolleson will function as a utility infielder.
May 1 - 10:55 AM

Blue Jays signed INF Steve Tolleson to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Tolleson is a .225/.273/.350 career hitter in 129 major league plate appearances. The 30-year-old utilityman is highly doubtful to crack Toronto's Opening Day roster.

He should receive a minor league invite to spring training. Tolleson batted only .183/.227/.310 in his brief time with Baltimore this season, but the Sox think he's a potential utility man.

The Orioles outrighted him last week, but Tolleson has refused the assignment and will seek employment elsewhere. He batted only .183/.227/.310 in his brief time with Baltimore this season.
