There has not yet been a corresponding move, but it's expected that Shane Loux will be recalled on Sunday. Hacker has posted a 5.19 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 7/2 K/BB ratio over 8 2/3 innings with the Giants this season. He'll likely return when rosters expand in September.

Hacker wasn't terrible in his first career start, but was only called up to keep the rest of the Giants rotation on schedule. It's possible he could reappear in the majors at some point.

Eric Hacker yielded three runs over six innings in a loss to the Padres on Friday night.

Hacker pitched quite well in his first major league start, allowing eight hits while walking two and striking out seven. He was only up for a spot-start, but the quality outing may put him in consideration for another look at some point down the line. Look for him to be optioned back to the minor leagues on Saturday, though.

Hacker has registered a 4-0 record, 2.19 ERA and 1.05 WHIP in 24 2/3 innings this season at the Triple-A level. The 29-year-old right-hander can boast only 8 1/3 innings of major league experience, however, and should be avoided in most fantasy leagues even against the light-hitting Friars.

Hacker made two appearances with the Twins this past April, but spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Rochester, posting an ugly 6.10 ERA across 25 starts and one relief appearance. The 28-year-old right-hander pitched with Triple-A Fresno in the Giants' organization in 2010.

The move was made to free up a spot on the 40-man roster. Hacker holds a 5.73 ERA over 81 2/3 innings for Rochester this season and didn't give up an earned run in his two appearances with the Twins back in April.
