Infante hasn't appeared in a major league game since 2010 and he posted a 5.11 ERA in 61 2/3 innings last season between the Double-A and Triple-A affiliates of the Phillies. The 29-year-old right-hander is doubtful to make a significant impact with the White Sox in 2017.

Phillies signed RHP Gregory Infante to a minor league contract.

Infante, 28, hasn't pitched in a major league game since 2010. He posted a 2.77 ERA in 45 appearances this summer for the Blue Jays' Triple-A team, but that also came with 32 walks in 48 2/3 innings.

Infante is in camp this spring as a non-roster player. The 25-year-old right-hander had a 3.55 ERA and 40/21 K/BB ratio over 48 1/3 innings last season between Double- and Triple-A with the White Sox. He'll likely serve as organizational depth in 2013.

White Sox released RHP Gregory Infante.

The White Sox needed to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Jose Lopez, so Infante was given his outright release. The 23-year-old right-hander posted a 3.55 ERA at two different levels of the minors this season and will attempt to continue his career elsewhere.

White Sox optioned RHP Gregory Infante to Triple-A Charlotte.

Infante was in the mix for the final bullpen spot, but he's currently sidelined indefinitely after straining his left oblique on Sunday. The 23-year-old right-hander earned a September call-up last year after posting a 2.54 ERA and 54/28 K/BB ratio between Double- and Triple-A and remains a promising bullpen arm.

MLB.com reports Gregory Infante is out indefinitely with a strained left oblique.

Infante sustained the injury in Sunday's game against the Rockies. It's not known how long he'll be sidelined, but this obviously hurts his chances of winning a bullpen spot on the Opening Day roster.

White Sox purchased the contract of RHP Gregory Infante from Double-A Birmingham.

Chicago's bullpen needs a shot in the arm in the worst way and Infante is certainly an interesting name. The 23-year-old right-hander posted a 3.45 ERA in 55 relief appearances between High-A Winston-Salem and Double-A Birmingham this season, averaging 10.4 K/9 and 4.0 BB/9. His control is still a work in progress, but with a fastball in the mid-90s and a developing curveball, he has one of the best arms in the organization.

Gregory Infante threw six innings of no-hit ball and struck out 11 Thursday in his debut for low Single-A Kannapolis.

Infante opened last season at Kannapolis, but he wasn't ready for full-season ball at age 20 and he ended up spending most of the year back at Rookie Bristol. Signs point to him doing a whole lot better his second time around the South Atlantic League. He has a quality fastball-curveball combination, so he could quickly emerge as one of the White Sox's top pitching prospects this season.
