Orioles activated INF Ryan Flaherty from the 60-day disabled list.
Flaherty will rejoin the O's ahead of Friday night's series opener against the Angels after missing the last three months with a shoulder injury. The 31-year-old utility infielder hit the ball pretty well on his 16-game minor league rehab assignment, but he holds a weak .216/.285/.356 career batting line in the majors and will not be fantasy-relevant down the stretch. Ryan Flaherty (shoulder) went 3-for-4 with a double and a homer Tuesday in a rehab game with Double-A Bowie.

Flaherty has now played in 11 minor league rehab games and would seem to be fully recovered from his right shoulder injury, but the Orioles are clearly in no rush to add him back to the major league roster. Flaherty's rehab clock is scheduled to run out on August 15, so a decision will have to be made at some point soon. The 31-year-old utilityman is out of minor league options.

May 21 - 11:30 AM

Ryan Flaherty could be placed on the disabled list due to tendinitis in his right shoulder.

It's something that's bothered him since spring training and he continues to receive treatment. Flaherty is capable of playing through the ailment, but the Orioles might decide to give him a cortisone shot and shut him down for a bit. Paul Janish is on the taxi squad and would replace Flaherty if a move is made.
