Ryan Flaherty went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base against the Mets on Friday.
His double plated Dansby Swanson in the fourth inning. Flaherty was also caught stealing but that doesn't matter too much in most fantasy leagues. The veteran infielder has never been very good with the bat until this year. He is now slashing .362/.464/.500 with one homer and eight RBI in 69 plate appearances. Ride him while he's hot but don't expect it to last. Apr 21 - 12:07 AM

Ryan Flaherty went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in a 7-3 win over the Phillies on Wednesday.

He provided the game's biggest blow by slugging a three-run homer in the fifth inning. He added an RBI-single later in the ballgame. The 31-year-old is getting a chance to play everyday and is making the absolute most of his opportunity. He has a .365/.450/.500 triple slash in 60 plate appearances. The bomb was his first of the season. Fantasy owners should temper their expectations as the longtime Orioles backup infielder has a career .221 batting average in 467 games.

Braves signed INF/OF Ryan Flaherty to a one-year, $750,000 contract.

David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported the contract details. Flaherty owns a .215/.284/.355 career batting line in 452 games at the major league level, but he has experience across the infield and outfield. The 31-year-old will operate in a utility role.

Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports the Braves are trying to finalize a deal for INF Ryan Flaherty.

There was a report earlier on Sunday that the Orioles were interested in signing Flaherty, but he apparently was close to signing a deal with another club. It appears the Braves are that club. The deal would reportedly be an MLB contract, so the infielder would open the year with Atlanta. There's no offensive value, but Flaherty does offer versatility, so he should help the Braves off the bench with his glove.
Mar 25 - 1:51 PM

Phillies released INF Ryan Flaherty.

Flaherty exercised the opt-out in his minor league contract after being informed Wednesday that he would not be on the Phillies' Opening Day roster. The versatile veteran holds a weak .215/.284/.355 career batting line in 452 games at the major league level.
Mar 22 - 11:08 AM

Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports that Ryan Flaherty is likely to exercise his opt-out clause.

The Phillies signed Flaherty to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training in early February, and the contract apparently contains an opt-out for the utility player. If exercised, Philadelphia will have 24 hours to add him to the roster, or he'll become a free agent. Expect Flaherty to be back on the market shortly.
Mar 21 - 7:38 PM

Phillies signed INF/OF Ryan Flaherty to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

It's the second potential utility infielder brought in recently by the Phillies, as they also signed Adam Rosales last week to compete for a bench role. The 31-year-old Flaherty had spent his entire career in Baltimore up to this point, registering a career OPS of .639 while playing every position for the Orioles outside of catcher. That versatility could serve him well as he battles for a spot on the 25-man roster in Philadelphia.
Feb 7 - 6:26 PM

Orioles executive vice president Dan Duquette confirmed that the club has been in touch with Ryan Flaherty about a possible reunion.

Orioles fans, your offseason prayers are answered. Flaherty, 31, was limited to 31 games last season due to a shoulder injury and owns a rough .215/.284/.355 batting line in the majors. Still, the Orioles view his ability to play multiple positions. If there's a reunion, it would likely be on a minor league deal.
Feb 5 - 12:10 PM

Orioles activated INF Ryan Flaherty from the 60-day disabled list.

Flaherty will rejoin the O's ahead of Friday night's series opener against the Angels after missing the last three months with a shoulder injury. The 31-year-old utility infielder hit the ball pretty well on his 16-game minor league rehab assignment, but he holds a weak .216/.285/.356 career batting line in the majors and will not be fantasy-relevant down the stretch.

Ryan Flaherty (shoulder) went 3-for-4 with a double and a homer Tuesday in a rehab game with Double-A Bowie.

Flaherty has now played in 11 minor league rehab games and would seem to be fully recovered from his right shoulder injury, but the Orioles are clearly in no rush to add him back to the major league roster. Flaherty's rehab clock is scheduled to run out on August 15, so a decision will have to be made at some point soon. The 31-year-old utilityman is out of minor league options.

Ryan Flaherty (shoulder) went 2-for-4 in Wednesday's minor league rehab game with Double-A Bowie.

Flaherty played second base in the contest. His current rehab assignment is scheduled to end on August 15, but manager Buck Showalter said that the team hopes to get the infielder back before that date. Right shoulder tendinitis has kept him on the shelf since mid-May.

Ryan Flaherty (shoulder) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on July 27.

Flaherty's recovery from shoulder tendinitis has had plenty of stops and starts but it looks like he'll be game-ready in about a week. The veteran utility man has hit just .233 with no homers over 30 at-bats this season.

Ryan Flaherty (shoulder) could start into a minor league rehab assignment next week.

The hope as of several days ago was that Flaherty would be able to start a rehab assignment this week, but the Orioles held off on that. He should see minor league games soon, though. Flaherty is currently on the shelf with right shoulder tendinitis.

Ryan Flaherty (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment next week.

It's unclear how many rehab games he'll require before being activated. Flaherty is out with right shoulder tendinitis, which has bothered him all season.

Ryan Flaherty (shoulder) is expected to work out on Thursday.

He's visiting with team orthopedist Dr. Michael Jacobs on Thursday and is expected to gain clearance for infield drills. Flaherty has been hampered by shoulder tendinitis for the better part of two months. He's eligible to return from the 60-day DL next week, but it looks like he'll probably need more time.
