Ryan Flaherty could be given a platelet-rich plasma injection in his ailing right shoulder.

The Orioles are still trying to determine whether the strain Flaherty is dealing with is more in his lat or his rotator cuff. Either way, he'll be sidelined for a minimum of two weeks if he receives the injection and in all likelihood longer than that.

Ryan Flaherty could be placed on the disabled list due to tendinitis in his right shoulder.

It's something that's bothered him since spring training and he continues to receive treatment. Flaherty is capable of playing through the ailment, but the Orioles might decide to give him a cortisone shot and shut him down for a bit. Paul Janish is on the taxi squad and would replace Flaherty if a move is made.

Orioles and INF/OF Ryan Flaherty avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $1.8 million contract.

It was only a small raise from the $1.5 million he was paid last year, but it's still a nice payday for a utility player. The 30-year-old played a variety of positions last season, but he batted just .217 with three home runs and a .610 OPS in 74 games. He's unlikely to make a fantasy impact this year.
