Ryan Flaherty went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk versus the Royals on Wednesday.

Flaherty should be the Orioles' primary shortstop the next week with J.J. Hardy out. It doesn't make him a great mixed-league option, but he could be a cheap DFS play from time to time.

Orioles recalled INF Ryan Flaherty from Triple-A Norfolk.

He was just sent down over the weekend, but he's back to take the roster spot of Nolan Reimold, who is going on paternity leave. Flaherty could be sent back down in a couple days.
Jul 6 - 4:44 PM

Orioles optioned 2B Ryan Flaherty to Triple-A Norfolk.

The Orioles needed to make room for Jonathan Schoop. Flaherty could return to the roster as soon as Monday. That's when the O's are expected to place Nolan Reimold on the paternity list. Usually when someone gets sent down they have to stay in the minors for a minimum of 10 days, but that doesn't apply to players on paternity leave.

Ryan Flaherty hit a two-run triple and scored a run in Tuesday's loss to the Astros.

Flaherty's triple was part of a four-run second inning against Astros starter Collin McHugh. The triple, his second of the year, was Flaherty's only hit in three at-bats. Flaherty is hitting .276/.364/.517 in a part-time role this year.

Orioles activated INF Ryan Flaherty from the 15-day disabled list.

Flaherty is playing second base and hitting seventh for the O's Wednesday. He's battled a groin issue for over a month -- an injury that caused two DL stints -- but is convinced he's over it now.
May 27 - 1:42 PM

Ryan Flaherty (groin) is expected to begin playing in rehab games with Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday or Monday.

Flaherty has been on the 15-day disabled list since May 12 because of a mild right groin strain. He should be ready to return when first eligible and will likely resume getting regular starts at second base for the Orioles, who will be without Jonathan Schoop (knee) until mid-July.
May 21 - 11:22 AM

Orioles placed INF Ryan Flaherty on the 15-day disabled list with a right groin strain.

Flaherty suffered the injury in Monday's game against the Blue Jays and an MRI taken Tuesday confirmed that he needs extended rest. Rey Navarro has been called up from Triple-A Norfolk to give the O's infield depth.
May 12 - 5:29 PM

Ryan Flaherty (groin) will undergo an MRI Tuesday.

Flaherty aggravated his right groin injury on Monday for the second time since he was activated from the disabled list last Friday. Orioles manager Buck Showalter said that the infielder needed to be available to play Tuesday in order to avoid going back on the DL.
May 11 - 10:21 PM

Ryan Flaherty left Monday's game versus the Blue Jays after aggravating his right groin injury.

He's now aggravated the groin ailment twice since being activated from the disabled list last Friday. It would seem that Flaherty might need a trip back to the DL.
May 11 - 7:53 PM

Ryan Flaherty is not in the Orioles starting lineup on Saturday.

Flaherty said Saturday that his sore groin was feeling better and he expected to play, but it looks as though the O's will play things cautiously. Steve Pearce is once again getting the start at second base.
May 9 - 11:24 AM

Ryan Flaherty (groin) indicated he is feeling better and expects to be in the Orioles' lineup on Saturday.

Flaherty, who returned from the disabled list on Thursday, felt some discomfort in his groin while running to first base in his first at-bat. It sounds as though he's good to go though and should be back in there on Saturday.
