Bryan Petersen went 2-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI in a losing effort against the Mariners on Friday.

The 28-year-old is looking to secure a spot on the Brewers bench as a reserve outfielder and is off to a strong start, hitting .357 (5-for-13) early on. He remains largely irrelevant from a fantasy perspective.

He'll take the roster spot of Omar Infante, who was traded to the Tigers on Monday night. Petersen is batting just .215/.305/.250 in 60 plate appearances at the big league level this year. The 26-year-old will likely function as a reserve outfielder, so he can be ignored in fantasy leagues.

Marlins recalled OF Bryan Petersen from Triple-A New Orleans.

Petersen didn't exactly play poorly this spring, but he was beaten out for a bench spot by Austin Kearns and Chris Coghlan. He will now replace Coghlan on the roster. For now, he isn't worth a look in fantasy leagues. But keep in mind that he has nothing left to prove at Triple-A and could be worth a look in NL-only formats if he sees some starts.
