Angels acquired INF Ryan Jackson from the Royals for C Drew Butera.

Jackson was batting .305/.379/.407 in 68 plate appearances this season for the Royals' Triple-A affiliate, but he'll be nothing more than organizational infield depth for the Halos. The 26-year-old (27 next week) hasn't appeared in a major league game since 2013.

Royals sent INF Ryan Jackson outright to Triple-A Omaha.

Jackson had been designated for assignment, but he cleared waivers and will remain in the organization. The 26-year-old was limited to just 11 games in the minors last season due to wrist surgery.

Royals designated INF Ryan Jackson for assignment.

The move clears a spot for the newly-signed Edinson Volquez on the active roster. Jackson was just acquired from the Dodgers a month ago, but he could soon be on the move again. The 26-year-old was limited to just 11 games in the minors this season due to a wrist injury which required surgery.

Royals acquired INF Ryan Jackson from the Dodgers for cash considerations.

Jackson was claimed off waivers from the Padres earlier this month, but now he's on the move again. The 26-year-old infielder was limited to just 11 games in the minors this season due to a right wrist injury which required surgery. He'll hope for better luck on the health front in 2015.

Dodgers designated INF Ryan Jackson for assignment.

Jackson was the low-man on LA's 40-man roster totem pole, which is a bad place to be when the club inevitably decides to make an MLB transaction. Decide the Dodgers did on Monday, trading for Juan Nicasio. Jackson, 26, very well could receive waiver claims. He has, in fact, never passed through the waiver process untouched, getting claimed twice (and, separately, traded a different time). The former fifth-round pick of the Cardinals suffered through a rough 2014 campaign highlighted by a serious wrist injury that stole most of his season.

Dodgers claimed INF Ryan Jackson off waivers from the Padres.

The former fifth-round pick of the Cardinals appeared in only 11 games this season in the Padres' minor league system due to a serious right wrist injury that required surgery. Jackson, 26, will function as organizational middle infield depth for the Dodgers.

Padres purchased the contract of INF Ryan Jackson, placed him on the 60-day disabled list with a right wrist strain.

Jackson is now on the 40-man roster, but he was ruled out for the season back in June following surgery on his wrist. The infielder should be fine for spring training.

Ryan Jackson has undergone surgery on his right wrist.

Jackson is expected to be on the shelf until late August or early September. Given that he's no safe bet to be added to the big league roster late in the year, there's a chance it could wind up being a season-ender.

Padres minor league infielder Ryan Jackson could need surgery on his right wrist.

Jackson's wrist has been bothering him since spring training and didn't show signs of improvement after a second opinion this week. Surgery could cost him most, if not all, of the season.

Padres minor league infielder Ryan Jackson has been diagnosed with right wrist inflammation.

The wrist has been bothering him since spring training and he finally had to shut things down this week. No word yet on how long he'll be sidelined.

Ryan Jackson will have his right wrist examined in San Diego this week.

The wrist apparently was bothering Jackson since the beginning of spring training, but he's only now brought it to anyone's attention. Jackson just barely missed out on an Opening Day roster spot, and now it appears he might be sidelined for a while.

Padres optioned INF Ryan Jackson and OF Alex Castellanos to Triple-A El Paso; reassigned OF Alex Dickerson, RHPs Kevin Quackenbush and Blaine Boyer and LHP Tony Sipp to minor league camp.

The club has also informed Rule 5 pick Patrick Schuster that he will not make the team. Jackson, Castellanos and Sipp all entered camp with a shot at Opening Day roster spots, but they were ultimately unable to crack the big league squad.

Ryan Jackson had a big night at the plate on Friday, plating three runs in leading the Padres to a 7-2 victory over the Mariners in Cactus League play.

Jackson finished the night 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. The 25-year-old got the start at shortstop in this one, and is expected to function in a super utility role with the Padres should he crack the Opening Day roster.

Ryan Jackson went 1-for-2 with a double and scored the Padres lone run in Friday's Cactus League loss to the Mariners.

Jackson's third inning double was the Padres lone extra-base hit in the contest, and one of only five overall. Acquired over the winter in a trade from the Astros, the 25-year-old is expected to parlay his bat and defensive versatility into a bench role with the Padres this season.
