He'll stay with Rochester for three games before being activated on Monday when first eligible, assuming all goes well. Adrianza has been out with an abdominal strain.

Adrianza was placed on the disabled list last week with an abdominal strain, but he received encouraging news from tests. He's eligible to return on Sunday and it sounds like he could be ready then.

Twins placed INF Ehire Adrianza on the disabled list with an abdominal injury.

He must have suffered the injury in Wednesday's game against the White Sox. Adrianza has played sparingly this year, batting .259 over 54 at-bats as a utility player. The Twins also demoted Nik Turley on Thursday. They're expected to call up two pitchers on Friday.

Ehire Adrianza went 1-for-4 with three steals and an RBI in Wednesday's win over the White Sox.

This was Adrianza's first career game with three base thefts. He also drove in a run with an RBI ground out in the third inning. The utility infielder has not done much with the bat this season -- hitting a quiet .259/.323/.333 -- but is now up to six steals through 26 games played.

Adrianza and Eddie Rosario were the only Twins to manage more than one hit on Saturday. He drove in two of Minnesota’s three runs with a two-out double off Ryan Merritt in the fourth inning. The 27-year-old has hit .265 with no homers, six RBI and three steals while filling a utility role this season.

Adrianza also hit a little soft-toss in the batting cage as he works his way through an oblique strain. The infielder should be ready to join the Twins around late April.

Adrianza suffered the oblique strain last weekend in a Grapefruit League game and figures to miss about two weeks of regular-season action. The 27-year-old infielder carries no fantasy relevance as a .220/.292/.313 career hitter.
