Ehire Adrianza (hamstring) is expected to meet up with the Giants in Pittsburgh this week.

Adrianza has been on the disabled list since late July with a right hamstring injury, but the Giants want to see how he looks and whether he'll be an option for their active roster in Wednesday's National League Wild Card Game against the Pirates. Adrianza can play all around the infield, so he'd be a nice tool to have on the bench.
Sep 29 - 2:20 PM

Giants transferred INF Ehire Adrianza from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster. Adrianza hasn't played since July due to a right hamstring injury.

Ehire Adrianza (hamstring) is headed to Scottsdale to continue his rehab.

Adrianza said he's still a month away from being game-ready. The infielder's season is likely over.
Aug 27 - 7:18 PM

Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Thursday that Ehire Adrianza (hamstring) won't return until late September.

Depending on where the Giants are in the playoff hunt at that point, it would seem to be possible that he won't return at all. Adrianza missed three weeks earlier this season with a right hamstring strain and then aggravated the injury in late July, so the Giants are taking things slowly with him.
Aug 22 - 10:38 AM

Giants placed INF Ehire Adrianza on the 15-day disabled list with a strained hamstring.

Adrianza missed three weeks earlier in the month with the same injury, and was forced to leave Thursday's game after aggravating it. It appears as though Dan Uggla will get a chance to prove his worth at second base until he returns.
Jul 25 - 6:47 PM

Giants manager Bruce Bochy said that Ehire Adrianza aggravated his right hamstring strain and could be placed on the disabled list.

Adrianza recently missed nearly three weeks with the very same injury and was forced to leave Thursday's game. It's a tough break, as he has hit safely in 11 out of his last 12 games. If Adrianza ends up on the DL, it will be interesting to see if the Giants consider bringing up Dan Uggla.
Jul 24 - 4:29 PM

Giants activated INF Ehire Adrianza from the 15-day disabled list.

Adrianza wound up missing close to three weeks with a strained right hamstring. The 24-year-old utility infielder is a .215/.260/.301 career hitter in the majors.
Jul 10 - 8:51 AM

Giants placed INF Ehire Adrianza on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 22, with a strained right hamstring.

Results of the MRI on Adrianza's hamstring aren't yet known, but obviously it's bad enough to where he'll need at least a couple weeks of down time. Juan Perez has taken Adrianza's spot on the roster.
Jun 23 - 9:31 PM

Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Sunday that Ehire Adrianza has a tight hamstring which will force him to miss the next 2-3 games.

It gives the Giants an extremely short bench to begin the week with Adrianza unavailable and Angel Pagan still battling a nagging back issue.
Jun 22 - 9:26 PM

Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Monday that Ehire Adrianza has been "the most impressive guy in camp."

Adrianza has a home run, a triple and four RBI over three Cactus League games so far. With Marco Scutaro (back) banged up, the 24-year-old should continue to get looks at second base as well as other infield positions. He could wind up making the Opening Day roster as a utility player, but his career .248/.335/.344 batting line in the minors suggests that we shouldn't get our hopes up for too much production.
Mar 3 - 6:39 PM

Ehire Adrianza smacked his first major league home run in Sunday's win over the Yankees.

Adrianza's solo shot with one out in the sixth was the Giants' first hit of the game. They only wound up with four on the day, but they were able to scrap together enough offense to pull it out. Adrianza has three hits in 10 at-bats since his call-up earlier this month.

Giants recalled INF Ehire Adrianza from Triple-A Fresno.

Adrianza, 24, is considered one of the Giants' top position prospects and will be making his MLB debut when he enters a game. He batted .310/.409/.441 at the Triple-A level and should eventually push Brandon Crawford for playing time.

Giants optioned INF Ehire Adrianza to minor league camp.

Adrianza is expected to begin the season at the Double-A level after batting .273/.352/.434 with six homers, 44 RBI, eight stolen bases and a .787 OPS last season between Class A Augusta and High-A San Jose. The 22-year-old shortstop was ranked as the organization's No. 9 prospect by Baseball America over the winter.

Giants infield prospect Ehire Adrianza underwent surgery to repair a torn ligament in his hand.

The Giants are expecting Adrianza to miss a couple of months. The 21-year-old batted just .256/.333/.348 in 2010 at Single-A but managed to steal 33 bases.
